The campus is fully equipped with modern air-conditioned classrooms, computer rooms, a student common room, a library and a cafeteria. Qualified teachers All ACG English School teachers are fully qualified and registered with the New Zealand Teachers’ Council. They are experienced specialist teachers who provide a caring and supportive learning environment where interactive lessons help to optimise the personal attention that we believe is essential for language development. The teachers place great importance on the learning process and encourage each student to set clear learning goals. They set high standards for each student and actively assist them to reach these. Intensive General EnglishTwo modules are included in the 24-hour per week lesson option: The Core & IELTS Academic English Module and the Project-based English Module.

Three modules are included in the 30-hour per week lesson option: The Core & IELTS Academic English Module, the Project-based English Module and the Elective Module.

The Core & IELTS Academic English Module consists of skills development along with a focus on examination skills. The module aims to develop English within a variety of contexts.

The module includes:n Receptive Skills: Listening and Readingn Productive Skills: Writing and Speakingn Core Language Skills: Vocabulary, Grammar and Pronunciation

The Core & IELTS Academic English Module consists of approximately 16 hours per week and is designed to develop English language usage, language structure, vocabulary, reading, listening and writing using a set topic.

The Project-based English Module consists of approximately 8 hours per week and takes the skills learned in the Core & IELTS Academic English Module and translates them into a weekly presentation using a variety of media.

Presentations may include:n The production of a weekly newspaper n Student video creationsn Design and Fine Art n Debatingn Podcast creation n Public speaking

The Elective Module: 6 hours per week.*

The purpose of the Elective Module is to practise English skills through academic subjects, such as Mathematics, Business and Science as well as through creative storytelling.

The Elective Module is particularly useful to students planning to continue their academic studies after reaching the required English level.

ACG English School TimetableIn the 24-hour per week course, classes start at 8.30am. Classes finish at 3.00pm each day except on Wednesdays. On Wednesday afternoons activities are available for students.

In the 30-hour per week course, classes start at 8.30am Monday to Friday. Classes finish at 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and at 3.00pm on Friday.

There is a 15-minute break between the morning periods and a 1-hour break for lunch.
