As Accord continues to rapidly grow in the UK and across Europe, we are constantly looking for new ways to innovate and improve the way we work with customers. By investing over £20 million in our Didcot distribution site we have created the only manufacturer owned storage facility in the UK with ambient, chilled and controlled drugs (CD) all under one roof. The key for us is that Didcot increases our UK manufacturing presence and supports our existing sites in Barnstaple and Fawdon. This allows us to respond quickly to ever changing market dynamics with our aim being to provide pharmacists with greater service levels, reliability and efficiencies. This expansion is yet another example of Accord’s investments and represents a vote of confidence in UK manufacturing. Firstly, with the 2017 acquisition of Actavis UK and Ireland representing the largest foreign direct investment post-Brexit in the UK, followed quickly by the purchase of a 22 acre manufacturing site in Fawdon, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, bringing jobs and prosperity to the area. Accord Fawdon was the first Accord UK site to produce generic effervescent medicines, strengthening Accord’s UK distribution network and increasing exports to over 35 countries across Europe and beyond. Given this, it isn’t surprising that we are the UK’s largest supplier of generic medicines, supplying one in five of the UK’s generic medicines. Our advanced facilities in Didcot provide us with the UK’s largest amount of manufacturer owned pallet storage locations (30,000) in a single facility, allowing us to hold all stock types under one roof and when fully operational we will distribute in excess of 1,000,000 packs per day. In addition, our high-tech automation brings the product to the picker, which, as you can imagine, is faster and more efficient, all of which is designed to benefit our customers by maximising the number of orders that are right first time. Typically, over 85% of the UK’s pharmaceutical requirements are fulfilled with non-branded generic medicines, from pain relief to cancer care with these generic prescriptions saving the NHS medicines bill more than £13 billion annually. In the UK, Accord currently holds supply contracts with all major UK wholesalers including NHS hospitals and the Department of Health. All these capabilities enable us to be agile and think differently to create solutions that make our customers working lives easier – ultimately this means that pharmacists are better equipped to service patients and helps us fulfil our ongoing mission to bring high- quality affordable medicines to patients. www.accord-healthcare.co.uk Accord cements commitment to UK manufacturing through third major UK investment: a new Distribution site based in Didcot, Oxfordshire Making it better - Peter Kelly, Accord UK Managing Director on how a new state-of-the-art warehouse and distribution centre will enhance their service provision for customers The Accord Didcot distribution site will be the first and only manufacturer owned storage facility in the UK with ambient, chilled and controlled drugs (CD) all under one roof. Our commitment to the NHS is unwavering. As Accord continues to rapidly grow in the UK and across Europe, we are constantly looking for

new ways to innovate and improve the way we work with customers.

This allows us to respond quickly to ever changing market dynamics with our aim being to provide pharmacists with greater service levels, reliability and effi ciencies.

This expansion is yet another example of Accord’s investments and represents a vote of confi dence in UK manufacturing. Accord Fawdon

was the fi rst Accord UK site to produce generic effervescent medicines, strengthening Accord’s UK distribution network and increasing exports to over 35 countries across Europe and beyond. Given this, it isn’t surprising that we are the UK’s largest supplier of generic medicines, supplying one in fi ve of the UK’s generic medicines.

Our advanced facilities in Didcot provide us with the UK’s largest amount of manufacturer owned pallet storage locations (30,000) in a single facility, allowing us to hold all stock types under one roof and when fully operational we will distribute in excess of 1,000,000 packs per day. In addition, our high-tech automation brings the product to the picker, which, as you can imagine, is faster and more effi cient, all of which is designed to benefi t our customers by maximising the number of orders that are right fi rst time.

Typically, over 85% of the UK’s pharmaceutical requirements are fulfi lled with non-branded generic medicines, from pain relief to cancer care with these generic prescriptions saving the NHS medicines bill more than £13 billion annually. In the UK, Accord currently holds supply contracts with all major UK wholesalers including NHS hospitals and the Department of Health.
