Planet 21 actions towards conservation

Electrical

1. Automation of cooling tower - Temperature meter installed for controlling CT fans for energy saving. Earlier all fan were running. Now automatically the fans are getting off according to set temperature. (Saving of average 125 units @ INR 10 per day)

2. Installed louvers in kitchen exhaust for controlling of kitchen exhaust system. Two exhaust fan are connected single duct hence we had to run two fan continue. By putting damper in auto ducting, we can operate only one exhaust at night when load is less. (Saving of 25 units@ INR 10 /day)

3. Time totalizer (Running hour meter) installed in Borewell and HWG for better analysis and control.

4. Separate switches installed in big area to control the lights when not in use

5. Timing review for HVAC, pool fountain and lighting according to the season and fixed timers or set in BMS.

6. Separate KWH meter installed for Owner office floors for control of electricity.

Planet 21 actions towards conservation

Water

1. Recycling of water - Usage of STP treated water in cooling tower. Saving 15-20 KL per day.

2. Installation of water sub meter for borewell, Cooling tower, pool, STP, Laundry and Kitchen close monitoring and controls

3. Water pressure set to lowest water flow in guest room to maintain standard without guest complaint

Fuel (PNG)

4. Saving in PNG (Fuel) -The De-super heater system (rejected heat in chiller system) started to boost the temperature of hot water – saving of 20 scm@ INR 50 per day

5. Installation of digital temperature indicator controller in de-super heater line, Hot water supply, return lines & generator flue gas temp. indicator for monitoring and control of energy.

6. Installation of PNG sub meter & Hour meters for boilers operation and control.

Participation in planet 21 initiatives and CSR activities

• Earth hour • Switch off the lights in entire hotel for an hour except emergency lights, lit up candles in public

area • Planet 21 week • Tree Plantation on world environment day

• A tiny step towards contributing back to the mother nature on this World Environment Day. Planted 10 planters of Kadamb– The fastest growing breed which will provide natural shade to the cars parked in parking area

• Organ Donation Seminar• Organ Donation – Gift of Life – Presentation was carried out to explain why and how to donate

organs. All staff participated and committed to donate body organs. • Cloth Donation activity

• Small help can bring huge difference to their life! Team participated and donated clothes, books, toys. The same was distributed to in coordination with SATH NGO to needy people.

• Joy of the week• As a part of our contribution to the society we had installed the Wish Tree in the lobby area with

the wishes of the children who are differently abled. It was great response from team Distributed to blind people association .

• Jeevan Sandhya Vriddhashram – Visit to old age house• Celebrating International Older Persons Day To promote local with old age people and hotel

team. Everyone became one close knit unit and enjoyed to the hilt with songs, dance, and shared happy smiles.
