Dear Conference Delegates, With only 7 months to go before the National Organizing Committee (NOC) of South Africa welcomes you to Cape Town to the 28th International Population Conference (28th IPC), it is time to start booking your hotel accommodation in preparation for your visit to our beautiful Rainbow Nation. As hosting agency of the 28th IPC, Statistics South Africa has reserved accommodation at several hotels within the vicinity of the conference venue, the Cape Town International Convention Centre, with a Tourism Star Grading of 3, 4 and 5 star. Stats SA has also negotiated discount room pricing exclusively for delegates of the 28th IPC. All recommended hotels are in within the Cape Town CBD and are within walking distance from the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) and have received excellent reviews which – in combination with the relatively small amount of rooms available – lead to their high occupancy. Should you decide to stay in one of them, please make sure to make your reservation well in advance, taking note that conference delegates are responsible for their own hotel bookings and payments directly with the hotel. For the benefit of 28th IPC conference delegates, we have provided for you, information, descriptions and photographs taken from the fact sheets and websites of these hotels, courtesy of the participating hotels. Because block bookings were made at a discounted rate that will be held by some of the hotels for a certain period, failure to take advantage of the discounted rates, hotels will charge normal In-Season rates and prices may be a subject of further change depending on hotel’s policy and occupation.
