RFB1 - 1960’S LIMITED EDITION FUzz PEDAL REISSUE

A faithful reproduction of our original 1960’s unit using the same circuit configuration as the original design, combined with modern resistors, capacitors and original germanium diodes. The new pedal combines yesterday’s mojo and tone flavour with the reliability and stability of today’s technology. The original prototype pedals were only ever available in limited numbers and never released for general sales. Nonetheless these pedals were found all over the place - there is even a picture of Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page playing one. This is the only original Rotosound fuzz pedal of the era and should not be confused with the lesser cheaper copies currently available.

Meet Your Maker - Dr Barry PyattA fabled bespoke, guitar ‘tone-tweaker’ as far back as the late 1960’s, Barry started out working as an electronic engineering apprentice for The Ministry of Aviation. In the evenings, he sung, and played guitar or piano in several local bands, or ‘groups’ as they were called then - the Ministry paid the princely sum of £3 10s 6d a week (before tax!) - the bands paid about £15 a week. In addition, a love affair with moving images found Barry joining The BBC Designs Department in the early 1970’s but the lure of live performance found him soon living and performing in all four corners of Europe. He continued to develop innovative electronically products and found himself the ‘non-resident electronics consultant’ for a number of companies. Today, when he is not designing bespoke pedals for Rotosound he runs his own film making company - Angel Films.

Meet Your Maker - John OramJohn is approaching his 50th year at the forefront of electronics engineering. With an impeccable pedigree in the development ofsomeofthemostimportantsoundequipmentevertocomeoutoftheUK,hejoinedVOXin1964asStudentApprenticeandfoundhimselfworkingwiththelegendaryDickDenney,designeroftheVOXAC30aswellasothermemberstheclassicVOXTeam.HeleftVOXin1968whenTomJenningsformedJenningsElectronicDevelopmentsholdingthepositionofChiefEngineer. John worked with James How and Rotosound on various projects manufactured by Jennings, which in turn were marketed and sold by Rotosound. As well as continuing his long association with Rotosound, John is now Chairman and ManagingDirectorofORAMPROAUDIOandTheAnalogueBarnAudio&VideoRecordingStudios.
