SAP Business Objects Design Studio Dashboard
There are two options to access SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio Dashboard
1. Connecting to a Windows client using ‘mstsc’
Note: This ‘mstsc’ is Microsoft Terminal Services Client and the purpose is to connect and login to a remote machine using the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) also known as Terminal Server Connection (TSC)
1. In the Remote Desktop Connection dialog, enter IP address obtained from “SAP Cloud
Appliance Library” (“SAP Frontend Internal IP Address or “SAP Server Internal IP Address”) and click “Connect”
2. In the Password dialog, enter ‘username/password’: ‘DEMO/Welcome!’

2. Using locally Installed SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio in your laptop/desktop
Go to Start All Programs SAP Business Intelligence SAP BusinessObjects Design
Studio and Launch Design Studio
Connect to the configured ABAP backend and Open Dashboard using Application Open … from
the menu

Configure ABAP Backend:
Note: This configuration is valid only if you are connecting to the ABAP Backend from your local laptop/PC desktop and it is already pre-configured if you are using Windows client mentioned in the SAP Business
Information Warehouse on SAP HANA trial page.
Launch SAP Logon pad, add a new user defined system by clicking the “New” icon
Enter the following details in the “Create New System Entry” dialog:
Application Server: To be obtained from “SAP Cloud Appliance Library” (“SAP
Frontend Internal IP Address” or “SAP Server Internal IP Address” ) System ID: A4H (or the respective System ID of your system)
Instance Number: 00 (or the respective system number of your system) User/Password: DEMO/Welcome!
Click “Finish”

Double-click the system added in the SAP Launchpad, and provide user name and password (DEMO/ Welcome!) in the System Logon screen and press enter

Logging on to ABAP System is done
1.1 Step1: Configure SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio
Launch SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio, if there is prompt for credentials for logging on to SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform; click the “Skip” button.
Go to Tools Preferences to check the preferred startup mode

Check whether “SAP NetWeaver” is selected as the Preferred Startup Mode. If not please select “SAP NetWeaver”.
Click the “Restart” button on the “Startup Mode Changed” dialog

On Automatic restart, please provide System details and user credentials for the ABAP backend like below, System: A4H (select from the dropdown) Client: 001 User: DEMO Password: Welcome! Language: EN

Click Application Open from the menu
In the “Open Application” dialog, select “0EPM_OPEN_ITEM_ANALYTICS” and click “Open”

Open Item Analytics Dashboard design time is now opened. Click the green play button and select “Execute Locally” from the context menu options available
The Dashboard Application will be launched in a new browser window

1.2 Step2: Check the SAP HANA Analytical View, the data source for the dashboard
Launch SAP HANA Studio installed in your system and Go to Windows Open Perspective SAP HANA Modeler

Right-click on the “Systems” Page and on the context menu, select “Add System…”

In the Specify System dialog, enter the following details: IP - To be obtained from “SAP Cloud Appliance Library” (“SAP Frontend Internal IP Address” or “SAP
Server Internal IP Address”) SID: A4H Sys Nr: HANA: 02 User/Password: DEMO/Welcome!

A new system is added. Wait for the traffic lights to go green, which signifies that all services are started
In the Content folder, navigate to “sap” “bc” “epm” “oia” apps and expand the “Analytic View” folder in it. The Analytical View “AN_OPEN_INVOICE_AMOUNT” is used as SAP HANA data source for the dashboard.
