• Go to the Library Homepage

• Click on “Journal titles”, and enter in the journal title in the search

box. Click “Search by title”. • *If the Harvard Business Review is listed next to “Popular journal

titles” you can select that rather than typing in the search box.

Accessing HBR Articles • Select the hyperlinked journal from the list.

• A new window will open, click on “Full text from Business Source Complete”.

• Once you click on “Full text from Business Source Complete”, you will be prompted to enter in your Laurier Network Login account credentials (MyLaurier username and password) in order to access electronic resources from off-campus.

Accessing HBR Articles – Citation

• If you have a citation then you do not need to run a ‘traditional’ literature search.

• You can either browse by volume/issue number or run a phrase search for the article title.

• Example of a citation: Amos, D. P. (2010). Aflac's CEO Explains How He Fell for the Duck. Harvard Business Review, 88(1/2), 131-134.

• Browse for the article.

• Select the year of publication then volume and issue number.

Accessing HBR Articles - Browsing • Scroll down the page until you find the article.

• Locate by page numbers/title.

• Click on the PDF to download the article or choose to view in HTML.

• Select the “Search within this publication” link.

• Enter the title of the article in quotes and select “Title” from the drop-down menu list.

• Hit “Search”.

• You should only have one result appear – the article in question.

• Click on the PDF to download the full-text or choose to view in HTML.

Accessing HBR Articles - Searching • You can also use keywords to search HBR to find articles on topics you are

interested in.

• Select the “Search within this publication link”.

• In the additional row(s) input your keyword(s).

• Hit “Search”.

• You can then refine your results as you see fit with the left-hand toolbar.

Accessing HBR Articles - Permalink • You may need to supply a link to an article, in that case you will

have to provide the persistent link.

• To access the persistent link for an article: • Select the title of the article in order to access the article record.

• The article’s full record will display with a set of icons located in the right-hand toolbar. Select Permalink for the articles’ persistent link.
