Access Statement for Driftwood Retreat, self-catering holiday home

IntroductionDriftwood Retreat is a self-catering, 2 bedroom-detached property; situated 10 metres fromthe seashore at Boulmer Village. It is our aim to provide you with as much information aspossible to assist you in enjoying your holiday.

Pre-Arrival• Driftwood Retreat Facebook contains photographs of the cottage, booking information and useful links to local area attractions, our website is www.driftwoodretreat.co.uk andcontains detailed information about the cottage and availability. We also take bookingsthrough our booking agent Northumbria Byways.

• Bookings/enquiries can be made via email, telephone or Facebook or via our booking agent Northumbria Byways

• The nearest railway station is Alnmouth situated 4 miles from Driftwood Retreat• There is a very intermittent bus service to the village timetables are in the cottage.• Taxi information is held in the cottage

Arrival and Car Parking • There is a large private parking area, which can easily accommodate four medium sized cars

• Car parking is a levelled gravelled area, flat and even running onto one row of paving slabsto the front door.

• Guests have access to the cottage from 3pm on the day of arrival.

Access• The cottage is accessed via the front door (78cm wide); there is a small lip area on doorframe (10cm high).

• Automatic outside light.• There are no grab rails in place at the access point (86cm wide).• Access leads into a small cloakroom area, which then leads to the kitchen• The large lounge is accessed via the kitchen; there are then 3 doors, 2 leading to bedroomsand 1 leading to the shower room.

• The floor is laminate flooring throughout, apart from the bathroom, which has a pebble andgrout floor. Due to its natural elements the floor is uneven.

• Front door is a composite insulated door all windows are UPVC.

Cloakroom• Wall mounted Coat rack and freestanding wooden shoe shelf, ceiling light

Kitchen• Oil boiler first aid kit, torch, • Kitchen well lit with spotlights• Good contrast between floor, cupboards and other surfaces. Worktop is 92cm high• Electric cooker and hob, full size fridge freezer.

• Dining table and four chairs

Lounge • Door from kitchen is 86cm wide• Large lounge with laminate flooring• Two-seated sofa and three-seated sofa bed• Coffee table• Chest of drawers with smart TV and DVD• There is a central ceiling light and two sidelights and standard lamp.

Bedroom1• Door is 72cm wide, space at the side of the bed is 45cm, however it is possible to push bed to the side of the wall to create more space.

• Pine Double bed with winter and summer synthetic duvets, extra blankets• Laminate flooring• Bedside tables with draws each side of the bed, • Freestanding wardrobe with wooden hangers• Blind and curtains at window, window seat with cushions.• Central pendent light with side light on each bedside table

Bedroom2• Door is 75cm wide• Bunk beds with synthetic duvets, beds are 5ft7 long and 3 ft. wide (170 cm x 91cm)• Laminate flooring• Shelf on top bunk• Freestanding wardrobe and chest of drawers with wooden hangers• Blind and curtains, battery operated LED clip lights for each bunk

Shower/bathroom • Door is 67cm wide• Well lit with spotlights, • Pebble and grout floor• White tiled wall to dado height, painted walls• Heated towel rail• Freestanding storage cupboard• Shower base is raised so there is a step up of approx. 20cm

Outdoor area• Large private garden that is enclosed by wooden fencing, 2 grassed areas, gravel paths and driveway and pebble area at the front of property.

• Trees and plants, garden is well maintained• Cast iron table with two chairs by front, picnic bench is sited on the rear-grassed area; 2-seated wooden bench is sited on the pebbled area at the front of the property
