Important ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 Timelines Testing Window Pre-ID File to DRC Information was pulled from Infinite Campus December 4, 2015 December 18, Pre-ID was submitted to DRC If any students identified as ELL enrolled after , it is the schools responsibility to upload them to WIDA AMS About ACCESS 2.0 Grades K-12 ELL students Secure-large scale English language proficiency assessment Given annually to monitor students progress in acquiring academic English will begin administration of the new summative assessment Online grades 1-12 New Testing Vendor Data Recognition Corporation (DRC) will serve as the operational test vendor for ACCESS for ELLs 2.0, both online and paper. ACCESS 2.0 System of Assessments Include: ACCESS for ELLs 2.0, an online assessment for Grades 1-12 ACCESS for ELLs 2.0, a paper-based assessment for Grades 1-12 (17 colonies) Kindergarten ACCESS for ELLs, a paper-based Alternate ACCESS for ELLs, a paper-based assessment for students in Grades 1-12 who have significant cognitive disabilities Benefits of Online Testing Increased student engagement through a more dynamic testing experience Built-in accommodations and accessibility features appropriate for a range of student needs Staged adaptivity targets students individual range of language skills Increased ease for test administrators Logistical flexibility as a result of being able to simultaneously administer multiple grades and proficiency levels Central scoring by DRC for all four domains. Test Administrators & Test Coordinators Training Resources- Test Coordinators Test Coordinator Accounts approved and monitored by SEA Account provides Test Coordinator with access to the training course and checklist Allows Test Coordinator to view and monitor training progress and modify user account permissions for Test Administrators users in their district Training Resources- Test Administrator Are approved and monitored by districts Test Coordinator Provide Test Administrators with access to the training course and checklist Training Course Components The four assessment training components Accessing the Training Course Log into WIDA website My Account & Secure Portal page On this page, you can Navigate to the various training course components Update and edit personal account information Access training personal training records Access and monitor training records of staff (only Test Coordinator) Accessing the Training Course After clicking on Identify if you are Testing Coordinator or Testing Administrator Once you click on the testing role, the training course will display the applicable checklist of tasks for you to complete as part of the training Training Course Read over checklist to understand necessary steps you need to follow to carry out successful administration of the test Each task is hyperlinked to the appropriate training resources that will provide information and train you on how to carry out the task Training Course Continued Once you have reviewed the training resources for a task, the task is considered completed and you can check off that task in the checklist Once you have submitted a complete training checklist, your training certificates within the WIDA website portal will be updated as a record of completion Training Course Continued Training course takes approximately 2-4 hours to complete, depending on what components are required Can be completed in one setting, or as many sessions as necessary Training must be completed 1-2 weeks prior to your first administration of the test Certificate Requirements Certification for ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 Online requires the completion of the checklists applicable to each individuals role Certificate available There is no quiz component associated with the training course for the online assessment Certificate Monitor Certification Log into WIDA website My Account & Secure Portal page Click on Test Materials Logistics Tier Identification for Writing Test Grades 1-3 DRC will use the total number of Grades 1-3 counts provided in WIDA AMS (Pre-ID file) to determine how many Writing Writing Booklets DRC will automatically include 10% overage of the Writing test booklets in the shipment Remember Student performance on the Listening & Reading tests will determine the appropriate tier that the student will take in the Writing and Speaking tests. Writing Booklets For ordering purposes, DRC will use a calculated ratio to determine the number of Tier A and Tier B/C forms to provide at each grade cluster (Grade 1 & Grade 2-3) Once student as completed Listening & Reading tests, Test Coordinators will run a Writing Tier Report Writing Booklets 1-3 Test Coordinators should check they have enough Writing Booklets for Grades 1-3 If materials are needed, Test Coordinators may order additional materials ordering through WIDA AMS Pre-ID Labels Writing Grades 1-3 Remember the state provided Pre-ID file to DRC, based on what students were identified in Infinite Campus Labels contain the name, grade, and other pertinent information related to the student, as well as school and district information As Needed: Writing Grades Grades 4-12 the writing default response mode is keyboarding Under special circumstances all Grades 4-12, if needed, have the option of handwriting their responses, ( mainly first year in country students) As Needed: Writing Grades DRC will provide a small quantity of Writing Response booklets for Grades 4-12 Only to be used for instances where students may need to handwrite instead of keyboard their response Materials Receipt & Inventory Shipped to District 2 Shipments Shipment 1- Receipt of Materials -2 weeks before testing window -Contains all testing materials Shipment 1-District District Packing List (white) School Box Range Sheet (white) School Packing Lists-District Set (white) District Security Checklist (white) Plastic Bags for Materials Return Agreement to Maintain Confidentiality State Testing Schedule Return Materials Instructions Packet Shipment 1- District The last box and boxes immediately preceding it contains -Generic Student Labels (District/School and Do Not Process -Testing Materials including Overage (as applicable) Shipment 1-District Each schools materials are packaged separately in one or more boxes Note that materials packaged in each schools box will exactly match the number of testing materials ordered for the school Overage is included in district specific box Shipment 2- Receipt of Pre-ID Labels Contains Pre-ID labels Arrives prior to testing Each schools Pre-ID labels are boxed separately Most schools will receive only one box Distribute the boxes to schools immediately For more information Visit the Online Testing Administrator Manual pages 19-47 Additional Test Materials Ordered through WIDA AMS January 21 -
