The world has become more mobile, and CIOs at high-performing companies are preparing their businesses for this change. In fact, CIOs at high-performing companies rank getting the right information to the right person—whether customer, partner or employee—at the right time as one of their top three business priorities according to Accenture’s recent High Performance IT research.

The research results are clear: the majority of CIOs at high-performing companies have embraced mobility. Approximately 69 percent of high performers (versus 42 percent of others) have already committed to mobile transactions and technology. About 54 percent of the exemplars have also deployed a mobile-enterprise app store (versus only 22 percent of other organizations), providing high-quality functionality to their mobile users.

Consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies, in particular, have scores of employees in the field. And field force roles now include a broader range of customer-focused tasks. Mobile employees need intuitive mobile solutions across a range of devices to improve the effectiveness of their customer interactions and services. Employees at high performing companies are empowered with the right tools and data to handle day-to-day needs on the job.
