Like many public sector organizations, Sweden’s Norrbottens is challenged with tight budgets and heightened service expectations. This public health authority operates five hospitals, 35 health centers, and a number of air ambulances, serving a large, but sparsely populated, area. To accommodate remote patients, Norrbottens is relying more heavily on email, phone and video consultations, which means that a centralized bank of patient data must be readily available to access quickly and without fail.
