Mark Salisbury, head coach at Idaho State University,holds a USSF “A” License, the highest possiblecertification from the United States Soccer Federation,and an Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA.

As the head coach at Central Michigan University,Salisbury built the women’s program into a perennialpower in the Mid-American Conference. At theUniversity of Missouri-Rolla, his men’s team won thefirst conference championship in school history while thewomen’s team earned their first national ranking inschool history.

Salisbury has coached youth players at the club, highschool, State and Regional ODP levels and hassuccessfully developed male and female players at everylevel. He brings his wide range of skill and success tothe ISU Soccer Academy.

Coach Salisbury has personally developed the campcurriculum for every age group. His emphasis ontechnical and tactical development ensures ageappropriate instruction to maximize player potential.

COACHING STAFFCoach Salisbury has assembled a team of staff coaches,including current players, that will ensure a quality andperhaps most importantly, fun learning experience. Thisyear, the camp is scheduled to feature the following guestcoaches among others:

ISU Girls World Cup Camp

July 12-16 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Designed for the 10 to 18 year girls, this campwill focus on the tactical and technicaldevelopment necessary for beginning,intermediate and advanced female players.Participants will be split according to age andability level.

Topics include: advanced skill development,principles of 1 v 1 offense and defense;support play; concept of pressure, support, andbalance; finishing; and secondary/off the ballruns. These topics will be taught throughindividualized instruction and a variety ofsmall and full-sized games. All instruction willculminate in the ISU World Cup competition.Emphasis this year will be on instructionthrough small sided and full field games.

Striker/Keeper Academy

July 19-23 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

This session is specifically designed to developthe technical skills and tactical understandingof these specialized positions through highlyindividualized instruction. During the firsthalf of each session, players will separate andtrain the specific skills necessary to excel as akeeper or as a scorer. In the second half ofeach session, the training will combine bothgroups to create highly efficient and matchintense small-sided finishing games. Thissession is an excellent environment for maleand female players age 12-18 who aspire toplay soccer at a high school or college level.

Bengal Cub Mini Camp

July 19-23 9:00 AM – 11:00 PM

ISU is proud to present a soccer campdesigned specifically for the younger playeraged 5-11. This is both a great beginner campas well as an environment where youngerplayers can further develop their soccer skills.The ISU coaching staff and many of it’scurrent players will lead a range of games anddrills that make soccer fun and exciting.

Boys Elite Development Academy

This week of evening sessions is designed formale players 12-18 who want to succeed at thehighest level. We will focus on advancedtechnical development and small-sided tacticalawareness. With an emphasis on positivecoaching, training will be demanding, intense,and challenging to help each participantdevelop into an elite level player.

No camper will be admitted to camp withoutinsurance coverage. Injuries are a part of any trainingcamp. There are no refunds due to injuries.The camper, in attending the ISU Soccer Camp and inusing the camp facility, does so at his/her own risk. TheUniversity, its Athletic Department and its staff shall notbe liable for any damages arising from personal injurysustained by the camper during the camp or at thefacilities.

The camper and his/her parents/legal guardians assumefull responsibility for any damages or injuries which mayoccur to the camper during the camp session and sohereby fully and forever exonerate and discharge theUniversity, the ISU Soccer Camp, its staff, its owners,employees and agents, from all claims, demands,damages, rights of action or causes of action, present orfuture, whether the same be known, anticipated orunanticipated, resulting from or arising out of thecamper’s participation in the camp session and in the useof the facilities.

Camper Information:LOCATION: Camps will be held on the campus ofIdaho State University. Specific fields for each camp willbe indicated in your confirmation letter.

CONFIRMATION: Upon receipt of your application,you will be sent a confirmation letter that will containadditional details and information about your camp.

CAMP COACHES: The camp staff will consist ofcurrent ISU players, the ISU coaching staff, and collegecoaches. The ISU Soccer Academy is committed togiving all campers the best possible coaching experience.

ENROLLMENT: Applications must be returned byJuly 1st, 2002 with a $50 deposit to reserve a spot incamp (deposit is non-refundable after June 15).

What to Bring: Each player must bring a soccer ball,shin guards, a water bottle, and appropriate trainingshoes. It is recommended that players bring a change oftraining clothes in case of rain and or sweatshirt/ jacket/pants for cold weather. If available, Holt Arena will beused on days impacted by inclement weather.
