ACADEMY DIRECTOR Mark Salisbury ISU Head Soccer Coach * USSF National “A” License * NSCAA Advanced National Diploma * USSF State Coaching License Instructor * 1998 NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year Mark Salisbury, head coach at Idaho State University, holds a USSF “A” License, the highest possible certification from the United States Soccer Federation, and an Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA. As the head coach at Central Michigan University, Salisbury built the women’s program into a perennial power in the Mid-American Conference. At the University of Missouri-Rolla, his men’s team won the first conference championship in school history while the women’s team earned their first national ranking in school history. Salisbury has coached youth players at the club, high school, State and Regional ODP levels and has successfully developed male and female players at every level. He brings his wide range of skill and success to the ISU Soccer Academy. Coach Salisbury has personally developed the camp curriculum for every age group. His emphasis on technical and tactical development ensures age appropriate instruction to maximize player potential. COACHING STAFF Coach Salisbury has assembled a team of staff coaches, including current players, that will ensure a quality and perhaps most importantly, fun learning experience. Participants will be split according to age and ability level. Topics include: advanced skill development, principles of 1 v 1 offense and defense; support play; concept of pressure, support, and balance; finishing; and secondary/off the ball runs. These topics will be taught through individualized instruction and a variety of small and full-sized games. All instruction will culminate in the ISU World Cup competition. Emphasis this year will be on instruction through small sided and full field games. Striker/Keeper Academy July 19-23 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM This session is specifically designed to develop the technical skills and tactical understanding of these specialized positions through highly individualized instruction. During the first half of each session, players will separate and train the specific skills necessary to excel as a keeper or as a scorer. In the second half of each session, the training will combine both groups to create highly efficient and match intense small-sided finishing games. This session is an excellent environment for male and female players age 12-18 who aspire to play soccer at a high school or college level. Bengal Cub Mini Camp July 19-23 9:00 AM – 11:00 PM ISU is proud to present a soccer camp designed specifically for the younger player aged 5-11. This is both a great beginner camp as well as an environment where younger players can further develop their soccer skills. The ISU coaching staff and many of it’s current players will lead a range of games and drills that make soccer fun and exciting. Boys Elite Development Academy July 12-16 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM This week of evening sessions is designed for male players 12-18 who want to succeed at the highest level. We will focus on advanced technical development and small-sided tactical awareness. With an emphasis on positive coaching, training will be demanding, intense, and challenging to help each participant develop into an elite level player. No camper will be admitted to camp withoutinsurance coverage. Injuries are a part of any trainingcamp. There are no refunds due to injuries.The camper, in attending the ISU Soccer Camp and inusing the camp facility, does so at his/her own risk. TheUniversity, its Athletic Department and its staff shall notbe liable for any damages arising from personal injurysustained by the camper during the camp or at thefacilities.

CAMP COACHES: The camp staff will consist ofcurrent ISU players, the ISU coaching staff, and collegecoaches. The ISU Soccer Academy is committed togiving all campers the best possible coaching experience.

What to Bring: Each player must bring a soccer ball,shin guards, a water bottle, and appropriate trainingshoes. It is recommended that players bring a change oftraining clothes in case of rain and or sweatshirt/ jacket/pants for cold weather. If available, Holt Arena will beused on days impacted by inclement weather.
