I had the pleasure of teaching Gesika as the convenor and lecturer of the course BIOC2101 Principles of Biochemistry (advanced), which she completed in 2014. Gesika then graduated from UNSW with a double degree in Arts and Science. Gesika has a professional and friendly manner that was apparent in all my communications with her, both in person and written. She also contacted me earlier this year with a request for work experience, and commenced in the laboratory space I share with Professor Brett Neilan. In this role, Gesika worked with a postgraduate student and performed microbiology and molecular biology techniques, such as bacteria subculture and cloning. Gesika’s related well to her peers in the laboratory and carried out her work very effectively. I wish Gesika all the best for success in this application and her future endeavors.
