G My assignments and homework are always completed in the allotted time and are done to the best of my ability. I am always on time and prepared for class and take responsibility for my own learning. (ask questions for understanding, is prepared for the next day’s activities, asks for extra help when needed) All absences are legitimately excused I always contribute to class in a meaningful way. Graduation Transitions is a requirement for all BC secondary school students graduates. It is intended to prepare students for a successful

transition to life after secondary school. In order to meet this goal, Graduation Transitions encourages students to:

o take ownership of their own health and learning o examine and demonstrate connections between their learning

and their future o create a plan for their growth and development as skilled,

healthy, knowledgeable, participating citizens o exhibit attributes of a Central Okanagan learner

All students must take at least one Fine Art OR Applied Skills course in grade 10 OR 11 OR 12.

All students must have English/ Communications 12 and a minimum of any three other grade 12 courses.

Dual Credit programs allow students the opportunity get a head start

on a career while earning both high-school credits and post-secondary credentials during their last year of high school.

o ACE IT (Partnership programs) - With our post-secondary partners OC & BCIT students are enrolled in Entry Level Trades Training programs such as CARPENTRY, ELECTRICAL, CHEF , etc.

o SSA (Secondary School Apprenticeship) - Trades apprenticeship training (work and school combined) – ANY TRADE

o School Based Programs – such as FORESTRY, HAIRDRESSING and FIREFIGHTING

1. Universities typically require 4 (or 5) academic courses for admission. Your admission average will be calculated based on these courses.

2. Foundations Math 12 is not included by most institutions in their list of approved academic courses.

3. Many institutions have an entrance requirement for Math 11.

4. A few BC institutions have an entrance requirement for a second language.

5. Humanities students at UBC will require a second language 12 as an exit requirement.

6. Many institutions have an English language requirement which is a minimum acceptable grade in English 12. It varies by institution and program.
