Purpose: Faculty will learn how to add special restrictions to a course section using SSASECT.

Audience: Academic Deans, Department Heads, Coordinators of Instructional Activities, Program Coordinators, and Division Secretaries

Adding Special Restrictions to a Section1. Open the Schedule form by typing SSASECT in the Go box of the Banner Main

menu and press the <Enter> key on the keyboard. 2. Type the term code in the Term field. 3. Select the drop-down arrow for the CRN field. 4. This will take you to the search form SSASECQ. 5. Type the subject and course codes for the section you are building in their

respective fields. 6. Press the Execute Query icon on the tool bar. The results of your query

displays. 7. Click on the section that you want to work with and select the Select icon on the

toolbar. 8. Click the Next Block icon on the toolbar to move the cursor to the first

information block of the form.9. Select the drop-down arrow for the Special Approval field. The field will auto-

populate. (Note: By using this restriction, an override will have to be given to each student by either the Department Head, Program Coordinator, or Coordinator of Instructional Activities.)

10. Click the Save icon on the toolbar. When you are finished, click the Exit icon on the toolbar.
