INTRODUCTIONBy Hadhrat Maulana FidaurRehman Darkhawastl~Principal of lamia AnwaruLQuran, KarachijsHadhrat Sheikhul Tafseer Hafizul Hadith HadhratMaulana Muhammad Abdullah Darkhawasti (R.A.) isfrom among the last of the religious, spiritual, andpolitical leaders of the latter half of this century.Through him, not only is the light of knowledge andspirituality luminous in Pakistan, but he is also aninitiator of religio-political leadership.Hadhrat Darkhawasti Rehmatullah Alahi was born-Inthe year 1324 hijri in the month of Muharram on. aFriday at the home town of his forefathers, Darkhawast.He received his primary education and training from hisfather. Upon completing the memorizing of the Queanat the age of 11, he occupied himself in studying Arabicand related sciences under Qutbul Aqtaab HadhratKhalifah Ghulam Muhammad Dinpuri rahmatullahialayh. At the age of 18, he comp leted hisDaurah-e-Hadith (final year of the Aalim course). Atthe time of graduation, Hadhrat DeeriPuri rahmatullahialayh handed him his graduation turban and advisedhim to continue in the line of teaching.Acting upon this advice, he first established a Madrasahin Darkhawast which he headed for fifteen years andthereafter, he established another Madrasah at Khanpur

which is existing for the last 45 years. He was not onlythe head of the madrasah, hut also the nucleus of ailadministrative and educational affairs.He was the principal, Sheikul Tafseer and SheikulHadith of the Madrasah; and also the spiritual guidewho was responsible for the spiritual reformation of thestudents. Apart from this, he travels extensively, bothwithin Pakistan and abroad for the purposes ofpropagation and rendering political services to theMuslims. Speaking the truth (facts) and fearlessnesswas the salient feature of his method of propagation.Striving to raise the banner of truth was his lifeirrespective of whether he was a journey or not, andirrespective of whether he was ill or not. In short, underno condition his thoughts are devoid of rendering anyservice to the Deen. Teaching and explaining the Quranwas his most beloved occupation. He had been teachingthe Tafseer of the Quran every Sha'baan and Rarnadaanto students who have qualified as Ulama to the Ulamaas well for the last 45 years.His Tafseer of the Quran is so effective andinformative, that not only does one gain the knowledgebut a sort of intoxication passes through the heart. Hissubject matter is such, that one perceives that he isreceiving some divine guidance ~ he does not had anybook in front of him, nor any notes. All he had was thememory which Allah has blessed him with whereby heexplains them of the Rukus & Surah and the connectionbetween the verses. One perceives waves of verses andAhadith which are quoted in support of what he says.

IHadhrat Maulana Muhammad Abdullah DarkhawastiiRehmatullah Alahi was a great Sufi Sheikh of theiQadiriyyah order. The wazifahs and zikrs that thet normally teaches to his mureeds and followers haveibeen concisely presented in this booklet,iFayzaan-e-Rahmat. He has granted an open permissiont to read and recite these wazifahs. Any Muslim canichoose them for permissible means. Insha Allah, theiperson who recites them will perceive the blessings ofihis permission that he has granted. At the end of theibook there are a few wazifahs of Shaykhul IslamHadhrat Maulana Darkhwasti Rehmatullah Alahi grantsf permission for their recital as well.It should be borne in mind that in order for wazifahs,t acts of ibaadah, and duas to be effective and aceepted -Ithere are a few conditions and pre-requisites. Forgiveness must be sought from Allah Ta'ala for tf onesel r and for all the Muslims. Special duas I tf should be made for one's parents and spiritualt guides.' t1 7 . Some sort of noble deed or act should be carried fi out before making a dua. it 8. If there is any delay in attaining one's goals and It ambitions, one should not become despondent, nor i1 should one abandon making duas. ti10. It ha also warned those tiwho abandon dua out of haughtiness and pride that they IIwill be put into jahannam in a very despicable way. it Allah Ta'ala says: .!f "Call unto Me, Iwill respond to you. Most certainly. fithose who display arrogance in worshipping Me, willi!nter in hell, disgraced." (AI-Quran 40:60) !iIladhrat Nu'maan bin Bashccr Radiallahu Anhu relates It that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: "Dua tiis actually a form of ibaadah." JiIt is for this reason that abandoning of dua actually Iientails abandoning ibaadah. Under no condition should tf dua be abandoned. One should continue making dua toIiAllah alone for every need of his, irrespective oflt whether it is a worldly need, or for the hereafter. tIRas'ulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam has said; "You Iishould ask Allah alone to fulfill all your needs. so.much 1t ~ , that if your shoes lace break-off, you should ask tiAllah alone." IiIyou do not have any need, even then create some sort It of need and ask Allah Ta'alla. --_ _ _--Ifrom the company of the ulama and pious servants ofAllah. Thereafter, if you have any spare time, spend it!n the remembrance of Allah Ta'ala and do not wastet your time in useless activities.iIt is also very beneficial to make dua for the well-being tiof your Muslim brothers. Such duas are very readily It accepted. It is mentioned in a Hadith that the quickest!t dua to be Muslims in the latter's absence. It is imentioned in another Hadith that when a person makes fdua for another Muslim in his absence, the angels say iAameen to such a dua. In addition to this, they also t!makedua for the person who made the dua so that he t.may also be blessed with the same bounties which he iIhad asked for on behalf of his Muslim brother. It It is extremely important to abstain from sin in order for tlone's duas and zikr to have any effect. Ibn Qayyim if al-jawzi rahmatullahi alayh says: "Sin is actually ft impurity and filth." If a person is sunk in impurity and tIlso applies the perfume of Zikrullah, then even that IIperfume will be destroyed by that impurity. If a sin is It committed, one should immediately make taubah with tIhe firm intention that he will abstain from sinning in IJIhc future. Insha Allah, in this way the effects of dua it and Zikrullah will become apparent very quickly. In tiorder to gain the barakah, acceptance and success in Jtour duas, our zikr, and in all our good deeds; the IIollowing ten points are of paramount importance: III. 2. Our beliefs have to be in accordance with the iQuran and Sunnah. One must have full belief andIconviction in the principles of Imaan: that is, the ioneness of Allah Ta'alla, belief in all the prophes, Ibelief in the books of Allah, belief in taqdeer, belief Iin the angels, the hereafter, the finality of the Iprophethood of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi tWasallam, and all the other necessities of Deen. I IAll our monetary and physical forms of zikr andibaadah must carried out for Allah Ta'alla 'alone,thereby fulfilling the dua that we make: "You alone Ido we worship. and You alone do we seek help Ifrom." Allah Ta'alla says: "And worship your Lord tuntil death overtakes you. " I IHave complete trust in Allah Ta'alla. Whoever hascomplete trust in Allah Ta'alla, He will suffice him.Have fear for Allah in your heart and never be Ifearless of His punishment. IAct strictly in accordance with the Quran and ISunnah. This is the real means to wards social andIspiritual reformation and is through this that Allah ITa'ala will love us and forgive us. IOne should always respect the Sha'aa'Irullah I(salient features or signs of Allah). Hadhrat Shah IWaliyullah Rahmatullahi Alayh says that there are Ifour major signs. One should always follow his Sunnah tt and way of life. !.i(c) Respect for the Ka'bah, One should make tawaafjt and Hajj. One should not spit in the direction of the ti Ka'bah, nor should one face or turn one's back if towards the Ka'bah when relieving oneself. ' i!d) Salaat. One should offer it with respect and If humility himself. and also respect the salaat off others by not walking across the person offering tt salaat. Neither should he speak aloud in his Ii presence, nor should he recite the Quran aloud, nor t! engage in loud Zikr. ti8. AI~vays have the remembrance or "The Beneficent" ii and "The Merei ful" in your heart. Choose the it company of the pious in cenformity to His order ti when He says in the Quran: "Be with the truthful." Ii Always keep away from the company of shaytaan it and be cautious of ill-mannered 'and evil person. I1 9 . Always be mindful for the good of others. and also1 call others towards good in a respectable manner. t!10. Never be unmindful of the remembrance of Allah Ii and continue making dua to Him. I remember him in a better gatheringi(i.e. gathering of angels)". 1iIt is mentioned in another Hadith that Allah Talala has tt certain special angels who are always in search of those Iiwho remember Allah. When they find any group that is It occupied in the remembrance of Allah. they call each tt other and direct them towards that place and inform tj them that this is actually the object of their reaches iiright upto the heavens. When these angels go in the it presence of Allah, Allah Talala asks them (despite Him!ihaving knowledge thereof): "What arc My servants 1isaying'?" The angels reply: "They arc praising and it glorifying you." Allah Ta'ala then asks: "Have they seen tiMe?" They reply: "We swear hy Allah that they haven't it seen You." Allah then asks: "What would they have t1 tt done had if they see Me?" tiThey reply : Then they would have carried out praising.}t worshiping and glorifying you much intensily. tiAllah Talala then asks "What were they asking ror?" iIThey reply: "They are asking for Jannat." Allah asks: it "Have they seen Jannat?" They reply.: "We swear by tJ Allah that they also have not seen Jannat". Allah Talala IIsks: "If they could see then what would happen?" The tt reply: "In such a case they will have an ardent desire for tIt, their craving for it will be intense, and their yearning Iifor it will be fierce." Allah Talala then asks: "What were It they seeking refuge from?" They reply: "They were tiseeking refuge frorn jahannam." Allah asks: "Have they I!een jahannam?"
