CHARACTERISTIC OF INCARSERATED INGUINAL HERNIA PATIENTS AT
DR
HASAN SADIKIN HOSPITAL PERIOD JANUARY 2013- FEBRUARY 2015

Backg!"#$.. $n inguinal hernia or hernia inguinalis is a
protrusion of the contentsof the abdominal cavity or preperitoneal
fat through a hernia defect in the inguinalarea, irrespective of
%hether this is preformed &congenital'. (his situation can
giverise to complaints such as discomfort and pain. Sometimes, it
is not possible toreduce the contents of the hernia sac
&non)reducible hernia'. *n the case of anarro% hernia defect,
there is a risk of the hernia sac contents becomingincarcerated,
resulting in an obstruction of the intestine &ileus' and+or a
circulatorydisorder of the incarcerated content
&strangulation', %hich can lead to necrosis and
possible perforation of the intestine.

Division of Dr Hasan
Sadikin Hospital from -anuary /01 through February /02 using
retrospectivedescriptive study method by collecting data from
medical record.
R'".( / (here %ere 0/2 cases of incarcerated *nguinal Hernia
%ith an average age
of 34 years & ranged from 02)52 years '. Reported case
occurred in 0/2 men &0//6'
%ith no mortality rate. From 0/2 patient 78&73,46' patients
are came %ith lump,
00 &0/.16' patients came %ith painful lump, 1 &16'
patients complaining of lump
%ith abdominal pain, and &6' patients are came %ith di9cult
to defecate. Risk
factor from this 0/2 patients are %eight bearing 85,06,
prolonged cough 16 and
di9culty to urinate /,86. From 0/2 patients that diagnosed %ith
incarcerated
hernia, 27 &22,6' of them are right inguinal hernia,
12&17,16' are left inguinal
hernia, 0 &/.86' is bilateral inguinal hernia and From 0/2
patient %ho came andoperated at emergency %ard Hasan sadikin
Hospital found that 77 hernia
sac of contain of ileum only 00 &2.56' of them are need
internal resection.
