ABSTRACT

Title of our final year civil engineering project is Living Green Walls. Living green

walls are panels of plants, grown vertically using hydroponics, on structures that can be either

free-standing or attached to walls.Objectives of this project is to create a model of living wall

which is made of wastage material, living green walls impact indoor environmental quality in

terms of temperature and level of carbon dioxide, to create a living green wall with a low cost

of expenses and last but not least to create an environment with a pleasant scenery. They have

multiple impacts on cities and citizens and they protect buildings from the effects of natural

elements. Plants cool the surface of the planet in two ways. They cool the air by evaporating

water through their leaves. They also moderate the temperature of the ground surface by

shading it from direct sunlight.Three types of measure were taken which is questionnaire,

temperature and air quality. The most important point from this project is to implement this

project as key to enforce the theme of ‘GO GREEN’.
