Role of Agribusiness for Sustainable Development in India India is Agricultural Country. Agriculture in India is one of the most prominent sectors of the economy. The value of agricultural products marketed at the first point of sale during 2004-05 was Rs 5053 billion, which included Rs 3323 billion of crop products, Rs 1387 billion of livestock products and Rs 343 billion of fisheries products Agriculture and allied sectors such as forestry, logging and fishing accounted for 18.6% of the GDP in 2005 and employed 60% of the country’s population. About 43% of India’s geographical area is used for agricultural activity and the sector accounts for 8.56% of India’s exports. The livestock and fisheries sector contributed over 4.07 % of total GDP during 2008-2009. Agriculture & Allied sectors which used to contribute 19 per cent of GDP in 2004-05 has come down to 14 per cent in 2011-12 at 2004-05 prices. As per local survey of Farmers, they are leaving farming and sell their property to the industrial sector due to the lack of labour, scientific farming, managmental practice. Despite a steady decline of its share in the GDP, Agriculture is still the largest economic sector and plays a significant role in the overall Sustainable socio-economic development of the country. Agriculture Ministry gets Rs 27,049 crore, an increase of 22 percent over the Revised Estimates (RE) of the current year.The interest subvention scheme for short-term crop loans will be continued next year also. A farmer who repays the loan on time will be able to get credit at 4 percent per annum.For improving the efficiency of the marketingsystem, there is a need of substantial investment in marketing infrastructure,both physical and institutional. The investment needs and opportunities forinvestors exist in the Production, Processing, Infrastructure, etc. New trend can be apply like Contract Farming,Co-operative farmingto agriculture and allied sector. Increasing Business for ultimate crop production, Balanced fertilizer ,irrigation techniques and credit opportunity.Different proposal like International training Centre for agribusiness management, Innovation programme on chains & logistics, Information and knowledge network on new markets,Innovation programme on environment-oriented system

Agro-chain from village level to the international market can reduce the loss of product, increase the profit of farmer, decrease the middle main that leads to development of farmer ultimately leads in development.Agriculture in society: A newperspective programme which can make awareness of current issue.Extension programme is the major aspect for development by means of technology as well as information transfer to the farmers. Indian govt. provide many scheme for the agribusiness that are not transfer to the farmer for that Extension worker, NGO, Agencies, Social-worker can be help. Application of New technology, Environmental control, Protection control, risk management in agriculture and allied sector can reduce the loss, increase the outcome, increase frequency of production per annum. So there is wide opportunity for development of India through agribusiness.
