DRYBLASTCABINETAPPLICATIONS

The applications of Trinco Blast Cabinets are virtually limitless—cleaning, deburring, decorating, deflashing, etching, finishing, honing, peening, etc.. All of these uses and more can be accomplished easily with quick sweeps of the gun nozzle. Scale, corrosion, old paint and other surface materials are removed in minutes leaving metal surfaces free of foreign matter and contamination. Even tough mill scale is quickly and efficiently removed.

Using an air compressor, abrasive is propelled through the blast nozzle and onto the part surfaces. The media is contained and re-circulated back to the blast nozzle. A dust collector and/or abrasive separator is utilized to collect and contain the dust releasing only clean filtered air into the atmosphere.

The equipment utilizes a variety of abrasives such as the Trin-Mixes, glass beads, aluminum oxide, silicon car-bide, but shells, etc. A multitude of finishes are possible ranging from a micro-finish to a coarse-grade finish de-pending upon the specific media used. Trinco Cabinets can apply the proper abrasive to provide the desired finish for each specific application.

Finishing……to provide decorative quality finish for the automotive, appliance, photographic, and jewelry industries; to improve appearance of castings by removal of scale and thin edges, and blending of minor defects; dimpling surfaces to improve adhesion for plastic, rubber and paint; improve lube holding ability of running parts by creating uniform lubrication pickets, etc.

TRIN-MIXES: Trinco's exclusive combination of glass bead and aluminum oxide delivers fast and efficient cutting action while maintaining close tolerance and a fine satin finish.

TRIN-MIX #4: The finest, it is ideal for removing light-to-medium contamination from tools, precision parts, molds, and dies. A general purpose media which is used in a wide range of applications from texturing plastic injection molds to providing appealing finishes on exposed stainless steel and aluminum surfaces.

TRIN-MIX #2: More aggressive and faster cleaning, Trin-Mix 2 leaves a slightly rougher finish. Ideal for heavier contamination. Dimensional changes of .001 may occur.

RAD-MIX: Most aggressive. Developed for radiator cleaning. It is ideal for removing tough contamination from surfaces with a minus .001 inch tolerance or better.

TRIN-BLAST ALUMINUM OXIDE: The fastest abrasive for general blasting, dimensional changes of .001 to .002 may occur. Guaranteed First Quality Virgin Grain meets ANSI standard B74.12-1976, Military Standard A21380-B. Consistent, resistant to breakdown, very low iron content. It comes in a full range of sizes.

TRIN-BEADS GLASS BEADS: Ideal for removing foreign matter from workpiece, without removing base metal, changing dimensions, contaminating parts or overstressing. Full range of sizes are available.

SILICON CARBIDE: Extremely hard but friable abrasive used in blasting, grinding and polishing very hard materials, i.e. granite, ceramics, glass, or marble. May be used on soft resilient plastics. Meets ANSI standard B74.12-1976. It comes in a full range of sizes.

STEEL SHOT: A solid, round particle causing peening action and producing a dimpled surface. Its heavier weight gives it a greater impact and hammering action. Cleans heavy forgings and removes heat-treated scale.

STEEL GRIT: Angular. Acts like thousands of cutting tools for a fast cleaning job. Produces an ideal surface for adherence of new coatings. Often shot and grit are mixed to achieve different finishes.

PLASTIC: Dust-free formulation, with high tensil, compressive flexural strength, combined with comparatively low hardness. Used in deflashing plastic parts, cleaning molds, dies, electronic connections and circuit boards. Effectively deburrs machined iron castings and machined non-ferrous screw parts.

COB-GRIT: Soft-grit blasting. Natural cellulose derived from corncobs. Used in removing light foreign matter, such as carbon, oil and dirt without affecting the surface.

NUT SHELLS: Soft aggregate used in removal of foreign matter or coatings from surfaces without etching, scratching or marring cleaned areas. Applications include delicate molds, armatures and electric motors prior to rewinding.
