OMC Membership Structure - Goal

OMC's goal is to give the opportunity to all professional hairdressers' organizations to become members of the OMC family, strengthen their links and expand OMC's representation and participation of every independent hairdressers' organization within countries. OMC's goal is to promote educational and competition programs in the Sectors of Hair, Aesthetics and Nails. Organizations and Understanding Committees, whose country population exceeds 300 million inhabitants, as well as all new countries applying for membership from 2007 on, go under the multiple member structure, sharing equal rights with other organizations in the same country. 1. OMC first existing member organizations within countries (up to 2006)

Organizations and Understanding Committees whose country population is less than 300 million inhabitants and which have been in existence as OMC members up to December 31, 2006, will maintain their existing rights. a. Official Delegates' rights

The first organization has three (3) OMC delegates. These delegates will represent their organization in all activities and duties, and they are entitled to vote. They can hold elected and/or appointed positions within the OMC World or Zone official bodies.

b. Individual and National Team and Competitor Selection

All OMC member country competitors may compete on an individual basis in all OMC international Championships. The first official organization wishing to enter a team in the OMC World Championship can register up to four (4) competitors in each of the categories concerned, directly at OMC. All other individual competitors can enter all individual and combination tests on an individual basis. Regardless of the placement, their scores will not count for the final official country team. They can appoint jurors as long as they have competitors (re: OMC Jury Guidebook).

c. Interruption for non-payment If the first existing organization's privileges with OMC are interrupted for non-payment of

whatever financial obligations they may have towards OMC that country will go automatically under the new 2007 OMC Multiple Membership Structure, sharing equal rights with other organizations.

2. OMC Associated Members within existing countries

a. Additional Organizations applying in countries that are already members of OMC Being that the 1st existing organization will maintain all existing rights, the additional organizations can apply to OMC as associated members on an independent basis directly to the OMC head office in Paris. The Associated Member President can appoint two representatives plus two stand-by jurors. The associated member has no voting rights, but can hold positions appointed by the OMC Board.

b. OMC International Championships

The associated member organizations have the right to compete in the individual and combination tests of all international and World Championships under the auspices of OMC, in the Ladies and Gent’s, Seniors and Juniors Sections, on individual basis.

c. Country National Team

The associated member can register a team and the juror (s) to judge only where the first OMC organization has no team registered.

3. OMC 2007 Multiple Membership Structure

Organizations and Understanding Committees whose country population exceeds 300 million inhabitants, as well as all new countries applying for membership from 2007 on, go under the multiple member structure, sharing equal rights with other existing organizations in the same country. These organizations will share the three (3) OMC official delegates’ positions listed below in a chronological order, on a first come, first served basis. The first member organization will hold the position of OMC General Delegate, the second organization can choose one of the other two delegates’ positions. Concerning elected and/or appointed positions, all 3 delegates have equal rights. Delegates are: 1. OMC official General Delegate 2. OMC official Creative Delegate Ladies 3. OMC official Creative Delegate Gents If the number of organizations is more than three (3) in a country, the 4th organization will have no delegate, but will have all other OMC rights.

a. National Team & Competitor Selection in countries with multiple organizations All OMC member country organizations can enter all international competitions held under the auspices of OMC on an individual basis. Organizations wishing to enter the OMC World Cup can register all their competitors directly at OMC on individual basis. From the different organizations of a country, the best three (3) competitors' points of the general classification of each of the categories concerned (Fashion and/or Technical combination tests, Seniors and Juniors, Ladies' and Gent's Sections) will form the country team, regardless of which organization the competitors belong to. The 4th competitor will receive the same awards and titles as the top three (3) competitors of that country.

b. National Jurors in countries with multiple organizations OMC Jury certification All organization's jurors must obtain a jury certification, either by attending a jury seminar or by taking the examination by correspondence. The jurors from the countries concerned, in chronological order, obtaining the highest points in the juror examination will have the first priority to judge in OMC international competitions. If the country has more than one team in the Fashion or Technical category, Ladies or Gents, Seniors and Juniors sections, according to the result of the Jury examination, OMC will appoint the organizations' jurors in the categories concerned.
