The Summer Enrichment Institute atJudge Baker Children’s Center is a six-weekday program that teaches children ages 6-12effective ways to manage ADHD and otherbehavior issues.

�e Summer Enrichment Institute is based on theSummer Treatment Program (STP), named a ModelProgram in Child and Family Mental Health by theAmerican Psychological Association and the SubstanceAbuse and Mental Health Services Administration(SAMHSA), and a program of the year by Childrenand Adults with ADHD (CHADD), the nationalparent advocacy group for children with ADHD.STP is also listed in SAMHSA’s National Registry ofEvidence-based Programs and Practices.

Treatment is tailored to meet the needs of eachindividual child.

• Children learn to increase pro-social behaviorand decrease disruptive behavior through praise,positive reinforcement, and reward systems.

• Each child participates in daily sports, games, art,social skills groups, and academic instruction, aswell as weekly �eld trips.

Caregivers are active participants.

Weekly parenting support groups help caregiversmaintain the gains made in the Summer EnrichmentInstitute and extend them to the home.

How does the SummerEnrichment Institute work?• Highly trained counselors use evidence-based

behavior modi�cation programs to increase pro-social behavior and decrease disruptive behaviorin group contexts including classroom instruction,art, sports, and social skills groups.

• Clinical psychologist supervises the program.

• Children stay with the same well-sta�ed smallgroups throughout the summer as they developskills to improve their functioning at school, withpeers, at home, and in their community.

• Counselors collaboratively develop individualizedtreatment goals with children and families.Progress is monitored continuously and feedbackis given daily to improve outcomes.
