To talk about Vietnam, most people imagine something relate to the Vietnam War or a small country, which is located in the Southeast Asia, with high temperature and heavy traffic. Beside those things, Vietnam is also known as one of the biggest countries in exporting rice and a main seafood supplier for other countries, especially the United States. To reach these achievements, the natural plays a significant role that creates several distinctive geography features such as a long coastline and tropical climate. The first major aspect is Vietnam has a long coastline. Through the shape like the letter s, the eastern mainland of Vietnam is seaward which created a long coastline of 3,260 kilometers. This amazing feature forms many beautiful natural beaches such as Ha Long Bay, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc. Some of them, like Ha Long Bay and Phong Nha Ke Bang, are the UNESCO World Heritage sites and attracts a large number of visitor every year. In addition, the long coastline is a favorable condition which contribute to the fishery development of Vietnam. The total fisheries production had passed the threshold of 1 million tons in 1990, then joining the list of the countries which had the fishing production of over 1 million tons per year. After that, Vietnams fishery industry reached at 2 million tons in 2000, 4 million tons in 2007 and over 5 million ton in 2011. Exporting turn-over exceeded 1 million USD in 2000, over 3 million USD in 2006 and accounted for 6 million USD in 2011. Due to the steady growth of the sector in this period, Viet Nam has become one ofthe biggest seafood countries in the world, ranking 12th in fishing yields, 7th in the fisheries export value (2007) and 3th in aquatic species farming (www.fistenet.gov.vn, 2012). Another important quality is the tropical climate. Vietnam is located near the equator. This created a specific climate with high humidity, annual rain and temperature. Generally, most parts of this country have only 2 distinct seasons which are rainy and dry. However, because of the latitude differences, some northern areas, such as Sapa and Lang Son, rarely have snow and low temperature in winter. Moreover, because of this type of climate, Vietnam has prosperous conditions to grow tropical fruits such as purple mangosteen, durian, rambutan and sapodilla. These fruits are the important exporting commodity that seem to be one of the most significant income sources of Vietnamese people. In conclusion, Vietnam has had great advantage in using the available natural conditions, such as the long coastline and tropical climate, to serve the countrys development, and contribute to promote the image of a strong growing country to the worldwide.
