The Terrapins not only look to defeat the Blue Devils on Friday, Nov. 10 at the Comcast Center, but are helping in the fight against breast cancer. The Terps are among 20 NCAA Division I schools this season hosting a “Dig for the Cure” match for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The “Dig for the Cure,” started by UNC-Charlotte, has helped raise nearly $40,000 since it began three years ago and the Terrapins hope to build on that donation with your help. HOW YOU CAN HELP: At the match, fans will have the opportunity to give a direct donation or pledge a “per/dig” amount. The final pledge amount will then be determined by the total amount of digs for the Terrapin team at the conclusion of the match. For example, if you pledge 50¢ per dig and the Terps tally 30 digs for the match, your pledge will equal $15.00. Interested in raising money prior to the event? Click here for a printable copy of Maryland “Dig for the Cure” Pledge Sheet. Completed sheets can be turned in at the Marketing table the night of the match. Cash or check donations are accepted. Checks should be made payable to the “Susan G. Komen Foundation”. Admission to the match is free for all and so is the fun! We look forward to seeing you there! Questions?
