The main objectives of the ACADEMICA Project are as fol-lows:Provision of more flexible access to higher education through the establishment of modern educational environments in the Universities form Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan involved in the project;
Improvement of the competencies of university lecturers in Engineering Sciences from Central Asia (especially from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) in line with their active involvement in the global digital educational space;Modernization of the university curricula in the field of Engineering Sciences through integration of innovative ICT-based teaching and learning approaches and open educational resources.Development of a system for transnational cooperation between universities and business organizations from the EU and the countries from Central Asia aiming the exchange of experiences and best practices education.
“Accessibility and Harmonization of Higher Education in Central Asia through Curriculum Modernization and Development“ /ACADEMICA/ № 561553-EPP-1-2015-1-BG-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP (2015 – 3552 / 001 - 001) is a three-year project co-funded by the European Commission in the framework of the Programme ERASMUS Plus, Key Action 2: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices. The Project is carried out under the centralized activity “Capacity-building in the Field of Higher Education” /CBHE/- 2015.The ACADEMICA Project Consortium includes 15 organisations from seven EU and Central Asia countries – Bulgaria, Austria, Italy, Spain, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
ACADEMICA MAIN AIM
The ACADEMICA Project aims to contrib-ute for the modernization and improve-ment of Higher Education in the field of Engineering Sciences in the countries of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) through convergence with:
• European educational standards;Achievements and expertise of European Union in the development of modern educational environ-ments; • Good EU practices and innovative meth-odologies for teaching and learning based on con-temporary information and communication tech-nologies and open educational resources.
