About the Program Parcipants will explore the food system from farm-to-table in Chile while considering aspects of animal welfare and health, food safety, food protecon, and public health. Site visits along the food supply chain, facilitated discussions with key government and private sector leaders, and interacve cross-culture group acvies are designed to integrate knowledge and skills in food safety, animal health and public health. Farm to TableStudy Program

ChileOctober 20st-25st, 2013

Registration DeadlineRegistration is on a first come first serve basis and is limited to 15 participants.

Registration Fees• Early registration - through August 2, 2013 $1,400 USD, $1,700 USD for single occupancy. • Regular registration - After August 2, 2013 $1,600, $1,900 for single occupancy• Partial scholarship funding may be available to assist with registration fees. Preference will be given to Central and South American applicants.

Registration Includes:• Course materials and instruction

• Hotel accommodations for 4 nights during the program (all hotels include breakfast). Please note that there will be an additional charge for single occupancy

• Transportation between sites on private bus

• One group dinner

Participants are Responsible for:

• Travel to and from Santiago, Chile

• Lodging in Santiago (2 nights)

• Ground transportation from the airport to the hotel

• Lunches, dinners and incidentals are not included in the registration fee. Please note that breakfast is included in the hotel costs.

• Health insurance (proof of insurance required)

Program Activities & Highlights

Activities in Chile will highlight the farm, processing, retail, and government sectors of the food production chain. Site visits will include poultry, dairy, fish and ready-to-eat meat processing facilities, small and large beef farms, a supermarket, and animal and public health organizations.
