About Jonathan Edwards
As a New Englander, Jonathan Edward’s early focus was on the emerging wine industry of the
North East. A commitment to creating the best wines possible took him to the beautiful Napa
Valley in 1999. As grapes were crushed and young wine fermented, the reality of the Jonathan
Edwards Winery truly began to take shape.
Despite the simplicity of the goal — to make great wine — the realities of merging a west coast
operation with a desire to live on the east coast seemed daunting. The perfect answer was
found in the charming town of North Stonington, CT. In 2000, Jonathan Edwards purchased
the former Crosswoods Vineyards. The Napa Valley wine was brought east, and the rehab of
what is now the Jonathan Edwards Winery began. Twenty acres of vineyards were planted in
Connecticut and the bi-coastal nature of this winery was born.
