About IndigiLab

Indigenous Australians have been scientists and inventors for more then 60,000 years and it about time that these sciences are recognised, respected and maintained. IndigiLab wants to work with communities to create new and innovative projects for social and environmental changes that provide a better future for all. We want to inspire our young people to take up science and continue that 60, 000 year legacy of sciences and inventions. Our Projects A strong focus of IndigiLab will be based on projects that explore art, science and environment but we will also seek gaming, entertainment, architecture, civil construction and anything that basically has an impact on Indigenous people and communities. IndigiLab Workshops The funding will allow us to hold an IndigiLab workshop for Indigenous youth in Sydney with further Labs across the country to follow. Lab Participants will get the chance to workshop their innovative ideas. They will get the chance to develop a basic websites and an app using HTML code. They will then developing a marketable product pitch. They will be lead by an amazing and talented team of the artist and science and techno geeks. The participants will discuss issues ranging from climate change to health and wellbeing. They will then explore some positive solutions using digital technology and arts. The age groups we seek for the workshop will be 16-25. The group will be part of the growing IndigiLab alumni and have the change to collaborate on other projects through IndigiLab. We believe that there is a need for IndigiLabs workshops to be held all around the country. IndigiLab TV Show The show (IndigiLab) will explore the latest games and technology designed and developed by Young Black and Deadly youths. We will scope the country on the latest news and development in Indigenous digital advancements. A segment in the show will explore ideas for positives changes to our environment, social issues and also feature some standout IndigiLab workshops projects. How you can help?
