RapidResponseReferralProgram(RRRP)isIAVA’shigh-tech,high-touch
casemanagementandservicereferralprogram.WecallitRRRPbecause
itripsthroughthebureaucracy– it’shelpwithoutthehassle.Since its

launch as a pilot program in
New York City in December
2012, RRRPhas grown into a
respected national program
makingbigimpactsinthelives
ofveteransandtheirfamilies.
RRRP qualified Veteran
TransitionManagers(VTM)are
clinicallytrainedandeducated
Masters-level social workers.
VTMs act as transition
navigators and advocates,
assisting veterans to identify
RRRPImpactIAVAmemberspaynoduesformembershipandRRRPiscompletely
donorfunded.SinceRRRP’screationin2012,over8,000caseshave
beenopenedandclosed.
• AllVTMsareIAVAstaffmembersandcertifiedMasters-level
socialworkers
• OnaverageVTMsspend9hoursoneachcaseopened
• In2016,1,700newveteranclientswereservedthroughRRRP

and access top benefits and services, both governmental and
nongovernmental,forexample,theSemperFiFund,OperationMend,
TheSoldiersProject,theVeterans’CrisisLine,VAVetCenters,andmore.
Importantly,wetakeclientswithalldischargestatuses, includingthose
whosestatusmightotherwisemakereceivingbenefitsdifficult.
HowitWorks:
VeteransinneedreachouttoRRRPbyphone,emailoronlineform,and
arecontactedbyRRRPVTMswithinonebusinessday.Duringtheintake,
veteransareaskedquestionsabout their current situationandneeds.
TheyarethematchedwithanIAVAstaffVTMwhoidentifiesandmakes
referralstoqualityresourcesandservices.VTMsalsoadvocateonbehalf
ofveteransasneeded,reachingouttoserviceprovidersandotherkey
playerstoproblemsolveandcutthroughredtape.Onceallneedshave
beenaddressed,thecaseisclosed,butveteranscancallbackatanytime
forfurtherassistance.Veteransalsogainaccesstoeverythingelsethat
IAVA offers– from VetTogethers, to leadership development
opportunities,toothertransitionprograms.
