IAVA represents the more than 2 million men and women veterans who have served since 9/11. As the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan come to an end, we must have the infrastructure and programs in place to empower veterans to effectively navigate healthy, successful, and rewarding civilian lives. The organization is focused on addressing critical issues facing new veterans and their families, including addressing mental health challenges, a stretched and difficult to navigate VA system, inadequate health care access for female veterans and ensuring today’s veterans have access to the same GI Bill education benefits that were afforded to their predecessors. TransitionManagers(VTM)are

clinicallytrainedandeducated

Masters-level social workers.

VTMs act as transition

navigators and advocates,

assisting veterans to identify

RRRPImpactIAVAmemberspaynoduesformembershipandRRRPiscompletely

donorfunded.SinceRRRP’screationin2012,over8,000caseshave

beenopenedandclosed.

Importantly,wetakeclientswithalldischargestatuses, includingthose

whosestatusmightotherwisemakereceivingbenefitsdifficult.

HowitWorks:

VeteransinneedreachouttoRRRPbyphone,emailoronlineform,and

arecontactedbyRRRPVTMswithinonebusinessday.Duringtheintake,

veteransareaskedquestionsabout their current situationandneeds.

TheyarethematchedwithanIAVAstaffVTMwhoidentifiesandmakes

referralstoqualityresourcesandservices.VTMsalsoadvocateonbehalf

ofveteransasneeded,reachingouttoserviceprovidersandotherkey

playerstoproblemsolveandcutthroughredtape.Onceallneedshave

beenaddressed,thecaseisclosed,butveteranscancallbackatanytime

forfurtherassistance.Veteransalsogainaccesstoeverythingelsethat

IAVA offers– from VetTogethers, to leadership development

opportunities,toothertransitionprograms.
