Hugo showing his support as our area’s united campaign to retain Horton services continues

Dear ElectorOn Thursday 2nd May you will have the opportunity to elect one of the three Councillors who will represent you and your community on Cherwell District Council. It has been my great privilege to serve the residents of the Deddington Ward for the past 3 years. There are many issues that may impact these elections; some local, some national, some firmly outside the District Council’s control. I may not be able to solve every problem, but I will help where I can. As the District expands, it is vital that the rural voice and needs of our communities continue to be heard. I have been very proud to have represented you on the Council. My pledge in 2016 was that I would defend rural interests, challenge inappropriate development and pursue sound finance. I’m equally proud to have represented the Council to you. Under Conservative leadership Cherwell District Council has delivered for residents. It has worked with Parish Councils on community initiatives, been at the heart of the local campaign to save frontline services at the Horton General Hospital, backed independent businesses in our town centres with a new rate-relief scheme, committed a £60 million investment to bringing forth construction of Banbury’s Castle Quay II (matching the £70 million delivery of Pioneer Square in Bicester) and recycled over 55% of household waste. This is a record on which I am proud to stand. I very much hope to gain your trust and vote, again, on 2nd May so that I can continue to be part of the team which delivers for the residents of Deddington Ward.
