12 day green experience tour Day 1: Arrival in Auckland, New Zealand Meeting at Auckland International Airport with your English speaking guide, transfer to your hotel. Time for rest after a long flight. In the evening enjoy a nice walk along one of many historic streets of Auckland. Day 2: Auckland City tour with travel to Muriwai Beach ‘Auckland by Day’ City tour with your English speaking guide. See the largest marina in the southern hemisphere, panoramic views from the Sky Tower, a walk along Mission Bay and drive to the summit of a volcano near the centre of the city. Next we depart Auckland and visit Muriwai Beach, on the Tasman Sea. This beach is a popular surfing destination because of the wild waves, and also has a large colony of gannets nesting on the cliffs above the surf. On the way back to Auckland we will stop for wine tasting at one of New Zealand’s well known wineries. Day 3: Departure from Auckland via Waitomo to Rotorua Bus and train self travel option: Morning meeting with GLT representative at the hotel. This is the moment when we will pass on all essential information and travel advice to you, including maps and suggestions of what else to do and see during your journey. Transfer to the bus terminal. Rental car self travel option: Morning meeting with GLT representative at the hotel. Travel from Auckland via the Bombay Hills and Meremere to Waitomo. Entry into the 30 million year old Waitomo Caves where you will see unique glow worms as you ride a boat on an underground river. Continued travel to Rotorua. Arrival in Rotorua followed by free time. Day 4: Tour of Rotorua and surrounding areas Sightseeing of Rotorua and surrounding areas including boiling mud pools and geysers at Te Puia Thermal reserve. Also you will get to see New Zealand’s national bird, the Kiwi as well as a farm show where New Zealand farmers show their skills. Next explore the Rotorua Lake front and Government gardens. In the evening you will be taken from your hotel to a Maori Village to see a traditional show and enjoy a traditionally cooked dinner. Day 5: Drive via Tongariro National Park to Wellington Departure from Rotorua, travelling via the Huka Falls and Taupo. Next continue your journey via Tongariro National Park, with three active Volcanoes, Tongariro, Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu. Arrival in Wellington, followed by an opportunity to explore the city’s main places of interest. Day 6: Ferry crossing to the South Island, journey continues to Christchurch Morning transfer to the ferry terminal. The ferry takes approximately 3 hours to Cross the Cook Strait. Arrival in Picton and continued journey down the beautiful Kaikoura Coast, where you can see wild seals sunbathing on the rocks. Evening arrival in Christchurch. Day 7: Drive from Christchurch to Queenstown Departure from Christchurch driving via the Canterbury Plains to Lake Tekapo. See the famous stone church and a statue of every farmer’s best friend, a dog. Continued drive to Lake Pukaki, from which you can see New Zealand’s highest mountain, Aoraki Mt Cook. Afternoon arrival in Queenstown. Day 8: Fiordland National Park with Milford Sound Cruise Travel via Lake Wakatipu, Kingston and Te Anau to Fiordland National Park. The journey continues via Kingston and Hollyford Valleys, the Homer Tunnel and Cleddau Canyon to Milford Sound. Cruise on the Milford Sound, followed by a return to Queenstown.

Day 9: Free time to explore Queenstown and the surrounding areas All day relaxing in Queenstown. We recommend a visit to the historic mining town of Arrowntown, Bungy Jumping or a steam boat cruise on Lake Wakatipu. In the evening you have a dinner reservation on Bob’s Peak, which you can only reach by Gondola. Enjoy stunning views of Queenstown from your table. Day 10: Departure from Queenstown up the West Coast to Glacier Country Travel via Wanaka and the Haast Pass to Westland World Heritage Park with Glaciers and lush green native bush. There is the opportunity to walk very close to a glacier, and for the more adventurous there are helicopter flights with glacier landings. Transfer to hotel. Day 11: Crossing the Arthur’s Pass returning to Christchurch Travel via the West Coast to Hokitika, an old mining and timber town. Next crossing the Arthur’s Pass you will return to Christchurch. Day 15: Drive from Te Anau to Invercargill Drive to one of the southernmost cities in New Zealand, along beautiful scenery. In Invercargill, see beautiful Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco buildings, as well as many places of interest. Day 16: Invercargill, with the option of visiting Stewart Island Drive to beautiful Bluff, one of the oldest settlements in New Zealand. There is the option on this day to take a ferry to New Zealand’s third largest island, Stewart Island. Papua New Guinea 8 day exploration Day 1: Arrival in Papua New Guinea Arrival in Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea. Next, fly to Madang, the largest city in the province by the same name.
