    Chairman’s Report

Now that all the fundraising and admin, in the form of unanimous resolutions passed at the SGM and

AGM, have been addressed, we are hard at work getting the Elements Owners Ltd company setup

finalised. Our trustee, Chris Elfick, and his team have done a great job of finalising the statutory aspects

and all the Owners who participated in the Acquisition Levy and Rights Issue should all soon be receiving

    their share certificates in EOL.

We have also concluded the settlement and water rights agreements with Klaprops and the Clifford’s and

we are already investigating the quickest and most economical method of abstracting water from their

farm to the North of us and getting it onto our fairways.

We had our first Trustee meeting after the AGM on Tuesday

4th July and, now that we are in control of our entire Reserve,

the Board of 9 trustees has refocused its efforts on marketing

and selling our beautiful estate. Ian Leach has done some

sterling work talking to his many associates in the golfing

industry and is putting together some spectacular events and

promotions at Elements to get feet through our door and raise

the visibility of Elements in the marketplace. Obviously one of the most effective methods of marketing is

word of mouth and we all have an Estate we can really be proud to be a part of, so please let your friends

and associates know about the changes that have brought Elements back to its rightful place in the second

home lifestyle market. Even posting photos of yourself on the Estate on social media is great. If anyone

has any suggestions that will help us with our promotions, please let Norman Kok know.

The 25km mountain biking track through the estate has been completed and was used as a portion of the

Liberty Waterberg challenge, to rave reviews. Not only do you now have access to a great golf course but

also a desirable mountain bike track which has technical and leisurely (if it can be called that) routes, so if

you own a bike, bring it along on your next visit. We are currently not charging visitors to use the track,

so bring your friends while it is free.

Again, please note that our Saturday golf fields are really popular, so don’t forget to book in advance.

Fridays and Sundays are going the same way, so we also suggest you book for those days.

    From the General Manager

Another month has passed by rapidly and fortunately it has been another successful month with all the

    positive developments happening at Elements.

Business volume for June exceeded budget forecast by 28% in rounds of golf played. This is a very positive

indication that word is spreading that the golf course is in very good condition, service levels are of a high

standard, pricing is reasonable and that the overall experience is pleasant and enjoyable. We are working

hard on promoting Elements further to ensure that volumes continue to grow through the second half of

    the year.

Eskom have committed to replace the stolen transformer required

to pump water from the Waterberg property but so far we have

seen no sign of them. Hopefully our dreams will be fulfilled within

the next week, as our water availability remains very low. Winter

weather has been reasonably kind to us so far, with only four nights

of severe frost. Day time temperatures have remained in the low to

mid 20’s, which has been perfect for golf. The course has also stood

up well to the weather, with the fairways still distinctly green even

    without any irrigation

Congratulations to our Club Championship winners. Mike Kennedy won the Club Championship and Erika

Swart the Ladies Championship. We have installed new honours boards for the Club Champion, Lady

Champion and Albatross in the upstairs lounge.

    Golf Operations

Rounds of golf played in June exceeded expectations, with the result that our golf operations sales for the

year to date are almost on forecast. Saturday golf rounds are now consistently at around the eighty mark.

This is close to our golf cart capacity, and the good news is that we have ordered an additional five carts

to be delivered by the end of July. Further good news is that we are now able to justify installing a GPS

unit on the carts and these have been ordered for installation in September. This will add and also

    contribute to speeding up play.

Adidas products have been added as a third brand of clothing and stock will be received in mid-July. This

now completes our planned range, together with Nike and Ahead.

Congratulations to Kobus Schlimmer on his Hole in One on hole number 9, on 26 June 2017.

    Golf Course Report

The course is playing very well at the moment and golfer comments continue to be very positive. There is

no doubt that our greens remain among the best in the country and are one of the biggest attractions to

play the course. One of the possible negatives is that the course is considered to be too tough for the

average player. We have studied this and have taken specific action to open the rough up more for the

average player. This is an ongoing project and will be completed by the end of the month. In particular,

we are widening the rough in the landing areas by cutting back the veld grass and removing all the loose

debris. No trees or bushes are being removed. We welcome any comments on this initiative and also any

suggestions where we could do more cleanup work.

Animal damage has worsened in the past few weeks as the game searches for more grazing. In particular,

Warthog and Guinea Fowl damage is predominant and we have no option but to reduce the numbers,

    which will be done.

Please note the dates for the spring hollow tining, which will be from Sunday, 8th October to Thursday,

12th October. The course will be opened for play again on Friday, 13th October. This treatment is essential

to ensure the continued good quality of the greens.

    Fauna and Flora

The Fauna and Flora Committee will meet in July to conduct a comprehensive review of the fauna and

flora on the estate and to develop an action plan to get the game numbers back to recommended levels

and to address the handling of alien vegetation on the property.

All golfers will have noticed the beautiful trees on the 17th

fairway where we have a Ficus, a Kiepersol and a Boekenhout

entwined with each other, making a unique feature on the hole.

Stop by and take a closer look next time you play the hole. It is very

    special.

Day Retreat Spa The Spa is open for treatments every Saturday and Sunday. It is located in a private booth in the

conference room. Bookings are recommended and can be made through the Proshop. Client feedback is

consistently positive and we encourage you to make use of it on your next visit. The Spa menu and price

list is on the website for your information.

    Marketing

Our focus going forward will be on increasing business volumes through targeted marketing initiatives. At

    the moment these include:

Extensive exposure through our Facebook page.

Electronic marketing through Flook, Cloud 9 Golf, Golf Trader and Golf Scapes.

A Golf and Glamping golf event in partnership with Tee and

    Sandwedges.

Promotion through local lodges in the area.

    Hosting Provincial amateur tournaments.

Hosting an event in partnership with the PGA.

Building golf and accommodation packages with other

    Limpopo golf estates.

Creating a five day Bushveld Golf and Game tour.

Inviting small golf groups to experience Elements.

Hosting a SAGES Sanlam Golf Day.

Working through SA Golf Tour Operators to bring international

    golf tours inland to Limpopo.

Sponsoring golf voucher prizes at Gauteng golf clubs.

From 1 July to 31 August 2017 we are running a 4 Play 2 Pay

special valid on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. This is

an initiative to increase golf rounds and is a great opportunity

for members to bring along guests to Elements.

We invite all members to host friends, colleagues and family to golf at Elements. We welcome any new

ideas on what more we could do to grow rounds of golf.

    Liberty Waterberg Encounter

The annual Liberty Waterberg Off-Road Cycle Encounter took place between

Sondela and Elements over the weekend of 9th to 11th June. The race

attracted 188 entries including some of the top off-road riders in the country.

The three stage race started at Sondela on Friday morning and wound its way

through some magnificent bushveld scenery, ending at the Elements Golf

reserve. Accommodation was provided at Elements in a luxury tented village

which was well received and enjoyed by the participants.

Sondela staff and students provided the catering service for the weekend and

entertainment was provided by the popular group Flashback Fridays. A brand

new track was created on Elements and Waterberg farms by Melgard Meyer,

the General Manager of Sondela, and was ridden for the first

time ever. The second stage of the race took the riders from

Elements through the Waterberg property and back to

Elements. Comment from the riders was that it ranks among

the most attractive and challenging off-road tracks in the

    country.

Following the cycling, riders participated in three golf

interactions, these being nearest the pin from the elevated 9th

tee box, nearest the flag on a long putt, and the longest drive. Evening entertainment was provided by

the talented and popular artist Juba. Following another freezing night but with electric blankets to keep

them warm, the riders returned to Sondela, where the final lunch and prize-giving functions were held.

All in all, a highly successful event that brought recognition and appreciation to the Waterberg region.

    Property Sales

There has been increasing interest in property at Elements. A formal Property Sales Division is being

established and will actively promote sales/purchases of property on the estate. With all the changes that

have taken place, especially with regard to availability of water, there is no doubt that property on

Elements will once again be seen as a wise investment. Please contact us directly if you have any interest

in buying into Elements or wanting to sell you existing property, and we will guide you in the right

    direction.

    Security Report

No incidents recorded on Elements this month. We are pleased to announce that a suspect was caught

on a neighbouring farm (Highlands) by our security company, Secret Eye, and handed over to the police.

He could possibly be linked to other incidents/break-ins in the area.

    General

We are establishing four informal picnic sites both on and off the golf course. These sites are ideal for

relaxing, enjoying the beautiful scenery, having a sundowner, watching the sun set, etc. If anybody is

interested in sponsoring a hardwood picnic bench at R4, 000.00, we would love to hear from you.
