2Since I am independent, I am not trying to sell you on a proprietary tool or methodology. I recommend what’s right for answering your must-knows.

3 I aim to provide you with what you need within your allocation of resources, budget, and time. This is anything from DIY “How-to” advisement, to getting you set up, to end-to-end execution.

It’s about getting the right approach to get the information you need. This can include a number of methodologies including quantitative, qualitative, user or usability testing.

Scenario 1: DIY Research ToolkitYOU:• We’re a start-up and we bootstrap everything. We want to do research, but we just don’t know

how. How should we approach it? What’s the best type of research to answer our questions? How do we start a research program? What should our roadmap look like?We’d like to execute the research ourselves, we just need some guidance.

ME:• I’ve been there. Start-ups and even medium-sized companies may not be able to afford a full-

time research person on staff. You just need someone to tell you how to do it. Someone to advise on how to get the best data and avoid the pitfalls. I love showing people how to do research.

In this Scenario, I can help provide the Research Toolkit according to your needs by providing a Research Roadmap & Strategy, sample questions / moderation tips, and/or advisement on research execution.

This way, you have someone to answer your “how-to” questions within a budget.

Scenario 2: Custom Research Toolkit

YOU:• We’d like to execute the research ourselves, but we just need some help getting set-up. We

need some help on how to conduct the research but want something a little more customized to our situation and questions. We basically need someone to create a questionnaire or moderator’s guide and then tell us how to field it.

ME:• Sure thing. Maybe you have a question you really just need answered and you’d like to

conduct or analyze the research yourself, you just need someone to create a questionnaire or moderator’s guide fine-tuned to your needs.

There is a right way and wrong way to ask questions, and you’d like someone to help you keep the research unbiased, unambiguous and get you high quality data.

We can work together on a customized survey, questionnaire, moderator’s guide for focus groups or user test plans with advice on how to field and analyze.

That way you get a template more customized to your needs within your budget.

YOU:• Help! We need to get something figured out but I don’t have the time or headcount. I basically

need someone to just do the research project for me end-to-end.

ME:• Don’t have enough work or budget for a full-time researcher but have a question you need

answered? No problem – let me be your part-time instant researcher. I will work with you to understand your questions, create the necessary methodologies, execute the research and analyze the data.
