How can eercise help to reduce the ris of osteoporosis

Osteoporosis occurs when there is a reduction in bone mass and mineral density decreases to critically low levels. This makes the bone become brittle and more likely to fracture. Bones that are most likely to be affected are the hips and the spine. In-activity, immobility or bed rest often triggers the onset of osteoporosis.

The process of weakened bones begins in females at the age of around 30 and accelerates after the age of 5 when oestrogen (female sex hormone) levels severely drop. In males the process of weakened bones generally starts around the age of 60.

Damaged bones have the capacity to grow and regenerate by putting excessive on them. In response to the stimulus of exercise, osteoblasts (bone forming cells) travel to the area of the bone under stress and begin the bone-remodelling process. Osteoblasts lay down protein and collagen between bone cells, increasing strength of the area.

The Minimal Essential Strain is the minimum amount of stress needed to be reached and repeated for growth in bones. The exercise needs to be weight bearing, having additional force on top of your own body weight. Cardiovascular low impact exercises (running, jogging, brisk walk) and weight training ideally when the force is transferred through the spine and hips (squats, bench press etc) will help reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis.

A itter Healthier ou

If a gym advertises that they specialise in weight loss then I would

Branding, packaging and web design created for the launch of Snack Ham. Working with companies both in the UK and Spain for packaging where strict specifications had to be met within the food service industry. 3D mock-ups of the packaging were created for promotional work, trade shows and online shopping stores.

The website theme incorporates an active styling to match the healthy low calories branding. Working as a single page site with multiple elements of animation incorporated using a mixture of javascript and css.

An active version of the website can be found on my online portfolio;

A website was created where attendees were able to register and pay using Paypal intergration. Aspects such as discounts and excursions had to be included within the payment system, with a rich email template created for confirmed registration. Also dual language option was set up for all aspects of the site for accessibility to the international event. Website created using Dreamweaver with both html and php being incorporated.
