However, this is a painful honesty because it does unmask the lies and the absolute evil that surrounds all of abortion. “Unplanned” is the true story of Abby Johnson who was the director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Texas for 8 years and during that time was responsible for over 22,000 abortions in her clinic. This story shows why she changed from one who fully supported abortions as good public service to all women to one who threw heart, mind, and soul into trying to stop abortions and to encourage those in the abortion industry to get out. Previous to getting into Planned Parenthood, she had 2 abortions of her own. I want to strongly encourage you to go and see this movie with an open mind and an open heart. Well over 50 million children have been sacrificed to “legal abortion” since our country made that fate- ful and fatal decision in the early 1970’s. From a Christian’s point of view, “How can we ask the Lord to bless us when we are killing children in such a horrific manner?” The horror and brutality of abortion is brought out in this movie, but the love and grace of the Lord is also brought out and I believe that we all need to be brought to repentance In last Sunday morning’s message, I quoted Sidney J. Harris who said, “Once we assuage our conscience by calling something a ‘necessary evil,’ it begins to look more and more ‘necessary’ and less and less ‘evil.’ I place abortion in this category, for many are saying that abortion is a necessary evil. Many on the liberal side of this issue say that they agree with abortion being a necessary evil, but they want to see it freely available to all women, but to see it happen less and less. That might be the rhetoric that might fill people’s minds and hearts, but that is an evil lie that comes from the pit of hell. Abortion is not a necessary evil. Sidney J. Harris was absolutely correct for many on the liberal side look at abortion as not good, but the reproductive rights of all women that needs to be protected. Therefore, all women need to have the absolute freedom to have an abortion. The taking of an innocent human life is always evil, but be- cause the reproductive rights are so important, they actually out weigh the evil of abortion. Many are praised and honored for fighting for the evil of abortion, especially abortion on demand. The whole abortion issue and industry is masked in deception and lies. If the whole gory and evil truth was to be unmasked and people were allowed to see abortion for what it really is, there would probably be a very different public conception of this whole issue. Lies and deception needs to stop because mil- lions of children are being slaughtered in the name of protecting the reproductive rights of all women. for allowing this tragedy and sin to continue in our nation. We need to throw ourselves at the Lord’s feet and beg for His mercy and grace. Our sin, as individuals and as a nation is GREAT!!!Sometime in the near future, I will be inviting you to attend a showing of the movie, “Gosnell, The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer.” Dr. Kermit Gosnell was an abortionist who practiced his evil trade for about 30 years. He was convicted in a court of law and is now spending the rest of his life in prison. This movie will also help to unmask the deception and lies of the abortion industry and the left’s defense of this evil and horrible travesty. Let’s be a people that will pray for God’s forgiveness and that He will give us the opportunity to right a wrong, in His ways with His strength and power. Let us not act in our own wisdom and strength, and let us not move in our ways. Let’s seek His forgiveness and also His guidance and instruction. God bless you all as we fully open our hearts and lives to Him!

“I’ve known ever since I was a little girl that I’m unwanted.” This statement made my (Rachael’s) heart hurt for Kate as she shared her story with me two weeks ago. We were in the midst of our “Abortion Dialogue” Outreach. Kate’s mom had wanted to abort her, but Kate had been born and the effect was that she had grown up knowing that she wasn’t wanted by her mom, even to this day. How awful.

We partnered with Justice For All (JFA) and Master Plan Ministries Grand Junction to put on this event at Fort Lewis College. Not surprisingly, there was quite a bit of reaction from the student body, though it was much more peace-ful and respectful than I had expected. Overall, many students wanted to talk, learn more about abortion, have someone hear their stories, ask questions, and share their opinions. JFA trained us very well in how to respectfully engage others on the topic, care for them, and ask good questions. Kate was just one of many students whom we were able to encourage, share pieces of the gospel with, and reassure them that we are glad they were born and are not a mistake.

It has been such a joy to work with our team of student leaders this semester! This core group of about 8 students have really come together and grown in their leadership skills.

A couple of weeks ago we had a girls’ night, hosted by my wonderful friend Melissa. Four of the student leader girls invited a friend to come, and two of these friends (Aspen and Dahlia) are not believers. We had such a sweet evening getting to cook, decorate for a fancy dinner, share stories about God, and love each other. All the girls left filled with joy and thankful-ness, and I believe a personal experience of what the Body of Christ loving each other looks like. This morning Aspen was at church with some of the student leader girls, God sure seems to be pursuing her!

Please pray: For Aspen, Dahlia, Janai, Kate, Teri and many other students that we’ve gotten to know lately and who are searching for God. For the last 3 weeks of school, that God’s kingdom would continue to be shared. For Dakota and me as we navigate one of the more difficult seasons of ministry and marriage. As we seek God’s plans for us this summer. We thank God for you all! Love, Rachael and Dakota

*Last Frontier-Pray for some partners who will be traveling on a “vision trip.” They are seeking God about how they can partner with workers to reach a people that is not easy to reach. Pray that as they meet and speak with individuals from that people group, they can develop good relationships and plan events that will meet the felt needs of the people. Pray for God’s leading and direction in this endeavor with the goal of giving the gospel verbally to this people.*People of Taiwan-Children’s Day is celebrated on April 4 in Taiwan. One of the goals is to strengthen relation-ships between parents and children. Many schools plan activities, and parents take the time to participate. As churches take advantage of this time to hold events for children and families, pray that they will be well attended and that Taiwanese families will feel welcomed and loved. Pray that God’s presence will be evident as people laugh and fellowship together, and ask those attending will have a burning desire to learn more about God, his love, and his peace.*Muslims of Tamil Nadu, India-(TAH-mil NAH-doo) - Isra and Mi’raj are said to be two parts of a journey that the Islamic prophet Muhammad-took; he went first to a sacred mosque in Jerusalem and then made an ascension to heaven. It is one of the most sacred events on the Islamic calendar. This year it takes place on April 3. Pray for Muslims on that day to question the things they have always been told to believe. Ask that they will seek with genuine hearts after truth. Ask that they will have dreams and see miracles that make them long for the one true God. Pray that Scripture can be made available to them and that they may encounter true Jesus followers who are able to show them the Way.*East Asian Peoples-Many East Asian countries will celebrate Tomb Sweeping Day on April 5. This holiday is an important tradtional holiday and is a time for families to remember, or show respect to, their deceased ances-tors. In many instances, they do this by actually cleaning the burial area: pulling weeds, planting flowers, and sweeping dirt off the headstone. They also provide food for their ancestors, as well as burning incense and ghost money. It is widely believed that these are things their ancestors can use in the afterlife, so they are not only pro-viding for their ancestors, but also gaining favor with them so that the deceased ancestors will protect and bless them. This is a difficult time for believers, as family traditions clash with Christian values. Pray for believers to stand firm in their faith and to honor their ancestors in ways that bring glory to God.
