• The ablative case is used for prepositional phrases and many types of phrases that translate into English as prepositional phrases

• The prepositions in Latin that take the Ablative case are: sub, in (when it means in or on), de, sine, pro, a/ab, cum, e/ex. You may remember these via the acronymn SID SPACE
