IIIQuadrant IV Click On A Picture To Learn More About It When youve
finished click here to review. X - Axis Y - Axis
Slide 4
The Graph A graph is where coordinates are plotted. The
vertical line is the Y Axis and the horizontal line is the X Axis
The center where both axis's meet is the origin. Click To Return To
Main Menu
Slide 5
X-Axis The X-axis is where the first coordinate gets plotted.
Example (3,4) - The 3 is the X coordinate. The center where the Y
and X axis meet is the origin with coordinates (0,0) To the right
of the origin is positive points and to the left is negative
points. Click To Return To Main Menu
Slide 6
Y-Axis The Y-axis is where the second coordinate gets plotted.
Example (3,4) The 4 is the Y coordinate. The center where the Y and
X axis meet is the origin with coordinates (0,0) Above the origin
is positive points and below is negative points. Click To Return To
Main Menu
Slide 7
Quadrant II Quadrant II is home to coordinates with a negative
X and a positive Y. Example (-2,4) The Graph beside shows where the
point would be plotted. Down 2 on the X axis and up 4 on the Y axis
Click To Return To Main Menu
Slide 8
Quadrant I Quadrant I is home to coordinates with a positive X
and a Positive Y. Example (3,4) The Graph beside shows where the
point would be plotted. Up 3 on the X axis and up 4 on the Y axis
Click To Return To Main Menu
Slide 9
Coordinates The X is the first coordinate in the set. To plot
the X coordinate you need to follow the horizontal X- Axis. The Y
is the second coordinate in the set. To plot the Y coordinate you
need to follow the vertical Y-Axis. Click To Return To Main
Menu
Slide 10
Quadrant III Quadrant III is home to coordinates with a
negative X and a negative Y. Example (-3,-2) The Graph beside shows
where the point would be plotted. Down 3 on the X axis and down 2
on the Y axis Click To Return To Main Menu
Slide 11
Quadrant IV Quadrant IV is home to coordinates with a positive
X and a negative Y Example (4,-3) The Graph beside shows where the
point would be plotted. Go up 4 on the X axis and down 3 on the Y
axis Click To Return To Main Menu
Slide 12
In which quadrant would you plot the coordinate (3, -4) A)
Quadrant I B) Quadrant II C) Quadrant III D) Quadrant IV Please
click on the answer you find most appropriate.
Slide 13
Sorry, Please Try Again! You chose Quadrant I which would be
coordinates with a positive X and a positive Y Click here to try
again
Slide 14
Sorry, Please Try Again! You chose Quadrant II which would be
coordinates with a negative X and a positive Y Click here to try
again
Slide 15
Sorry, Please Try Again! You chose Quadrant III which would be
coordinates with a negative X and a negative Y Click here to try
again
Slide 16
Correct! You chose the correct answer. Quadrant IV which is
home to coordinates with a positive X and a negative Y Click Here
