Dr. Abidi pharmaceuticals as the �rst and oldest Iranian pharmaceutical company in the

private sector with years of experience in manufacturing high quality products, is

determined to enhance the healthcare condition of the community. Within the past few

years and speci�cally in the 70th anniversary of Dr. Abidi pharmaceuticals, this trend has

been reinforced with a substantial amount of investment in maximizing the patients'

utility through provision of high quality and available products and also with a decent

price.

Within the past 5 years this company managed to produce over 80 million boxes of

medications in a variety of di�erent clusters which accounts for about 6.5% of the total

production of the Iranian pharmaceutical industry.

Dr. Abidi pharmaceuticals currently is producing a 127 type of medicine groups such as

Anti-Cancer, M.S, Infectious, Anti Diabetes, Cardiovascular, and Central Nerves System,

Our annual production capacity is over 3000 million units of tablets and capsules and

about 20 million units of liquid medicines.

Giving a higher priority to the R&D department and particularly the formulation of the

new molecules within the past 5 years has been a turning point in the company's history.

Beside research and development activities, we have invested in our human capitals

as the most strategic resource of the company through training and development

programs and right now Dr. Abidi pharmaceuticals possess a lot of experts in various

�elds such as technical, quality and marketing in the Iranian pharmaceutical

industry.

Dr. Gholam-Ali Abidi was born in

Iran, Tehran. After �nishing high

school, he was accepted in Tehran

University Faculty of Pharmacy in

1938 which was the center for the

most famous medical science

professors of that time. In 1943 he

received his doctorate.

Dr. Gholam-Ali Abidi, the father of Iranian pharmaceutical industry

The country’s chaotic health condition during the World War II caused him to make a determined e�ort to establish the national Iranian pharmaceutical industry. This historic decision which was completely full of love and passion toward his country and its people, led Dr. Abidi to the establishment of the �rst Iranian pharmaceutical factory in 1946 which was located in one of the oldest neighborhoods of Tehran called Amin Hozour. Dr. Abidi started working without any support and with a lot of obstacles. After a lot of consistent e�orts in 1958 he was granted the �rst pharmaceutical license for “wormicide tablet” from the ministry of health. Dr. Abidi pharmaceutical laboratory was built in 1973 in its new location on the outskirts of Tehran and since then has been active in the pharmaceutical industry. Dr.Golam-Ali Abidi was a virtuous and generous man who had a great passion for science and production. He had a special and energetic character who was always ahead of his time. Eventually, after years of perseverance and e�ort, Dr. Abidi passed away in18 September, 2004 . Over the past few years, the company’s growth has been following an upward trend with a substantial investment on equipment, machineries and human resources, with emphasizing on maximizing the patients’ utility through producing high-quality products, decent prices, good accessibility; and obtaining the second rank among the 80 Iranian pharmaceutical companies is a concrete proof of this fact.
