I. GENERAL POLICY This report covers the period from August 1, 2007 through July 31, 2008. ABC Radio Los Angeles Assets, LLC, licensee of KDIS-AM (“KDIS” or the “Station”) and KSPN-AM (“KSPN” or the “Station”) has a longstanding commitment to a policy of equal employment and advancement opportunities for all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, marital status, covered veteran status, mental or physical disability, pregnancy, or any other basis prohibited by state or federal law. This commitment to fair employment practices applies to every aspect of the employment process to ensure that equal consideration is extended to all employees and applicants in recruitment, selection procedure, employee development, performance evaluation, promotions, transfers, benefits and other aspects of employment. II. RESPONSIBILITY Natalie Eig, Station Manager of KDIS, is the EEO officer at KDIS responsible for the administration and implementation of our Equal Employment Opportunity Program and the accuracy of the information documented in this report. Bob Koontz, Vice President and General Manager of KSPN, is the EEO officer at KSPN responsible for the administration and implementation of our Equal Employment Opportunity Program and the accuracy of the information documented in this report.

III. INTERNAL RECORD KEEPING, PUBLICITY AND POSITIONS FILLED In compliance with EEO rules, KDIS and KSPN has publicized job vacancies for the Station through a combination of some or all of the following: posting these positions on the Station’s website; posting the positions on the Southern California Broadcasters Association’s (SCBA) website and in their job bank newsletter, which in turn is sent to a list of schools and organizations (see Attachment “A-2”); listing the positions in the ABC and Disney Corporate Job Listings; and listing the positions with the Employment Development Department (EDD), which links to 1,800 state employment service offices nationwide through America’s Job Bank and the CalJOBS database. KDIS maintains a distribution/contact list of local community-based organizations and schools to which notices of available positions are sent. The distribution/contact list is included as part of Attachment “A-1”. This list is updated periodically. KDIS and KSPN have asked interested organizations to notify


it if they wish to be placed on the distribution/contact list. During the reporting year, solicitation of organizations for the Station mailing list was conducted through a combination of a notice on our web site, quarterly on-air announcements, and a classified advertisement in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Pasadena Star News, Whittier Daily News on 9/10/2007. In addition, all KDIS openings are also posted on Hotjobs.com and with the Direct Employers Associate List. The Direct Employers Association is a nonprofit consortium of leading U.S. corporations that collects postings from member websites and distributes them to 713 diversity, disabled Americans, unemployment, schools, state organizations and veteran sites (see Attachment A-3 ). The EEO Rules include record keeping and reporting requirements for broadcasters. In accordance with these provisions, KDIS and KSPN create a file for each full-time vacancy. The file contains, among other items, copies of the job listing for all sources used to recruit interviewees for the position. The EEO file also includes information on the station’s recruitment initiatives. Additionally, a notice was sent to our outreach list regarding this open position (see Attachment A-1). Seven candidates were interviewed. IV. LONG TERM RECRUITMENT INITIATIVES KDIS and KSPN are committed to performing at least four of the long-term EEO recruitments set forth in the FCC’s EEO rules within a two-year period. From August 1, 2007 through July 31, 2008, KDIS and KSPN participated in the following long-term recruitment initiatives:

A. Participation in Job Fairs – KDIS and KSPN participated in the following job fair by staffing a booth with company personnel responsible for hiring decisions, distributing information about careers in radio, soliciting applications, informing attendees of job postings and encouraging them to go to school and participate in internships, collecting resumes, and answering questions: • Cal State Fullerton Internship & Career Fair – September 19, 2007 – attended by Sean O’Rourke,

B. Hosting of Job Fair – KSPN and ESPN hosted a “Television and Digital Media Professionals OPEN HOUSE” at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites on April 18 & 19, 2008 in a ballroom where potential employees submitted their resumes and were pre-screened by ESPN HR personnel. On one-half of the ballroom applicants were seated in a holding section until they were interviewed by the appropriate ESPN division. KSPN’s Director of Marketing, Bill Lennert, conducted 20+ interviews on site for positions ranging from the promotions department to sales to programming. ESPN placed advertising in the LA Times and also on KSPN-AM to promote this job fair. (See also Attachment B for the list of station personnel who attended the above listed job fair.)

C. Participation in broadcast and media activities – KDIS and KSPN sent employees to the following activities, sponsored by community groups active in media employment issues, that were designed to enable station personnel to acquire skills that could qualify them for higher-level positions: • Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media at University of Southern California (This is an

international conference designed to increase awareness of gender imbalance in entertainment for kids and to strategize toward more varied gender portrayal in entertainment aimed at young children. The summit included a forum, open to the public on Jan. 31. An International Researchers Roundtable brought together 30 prominent researchers from China, Brazil, Chile, Germany, Israel, South Africa, Australia, Belgium, and many other countries to share their


research, exchange perspectives on TV, film, and gender portrayals and young children. - January 31, 2008 – attended by Laura Behrman, Promotions Director of KDIS.

• RAB Workshop The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Salespeople (workshop intended to help individuals become more effective and successful in their field) – June 26, 2008 – attended by KDIS account executive Lisa Diamond.

• 2008 Southern California Broadcasters University (a sales training series of classes designed to help individuals learn about Radio Sales. Training was done through the Southern California Broadcasters Associations training dept. and was taught by their staff as well as professionals in the broadcast industry) – May 6-July 9, 2008 – attended by KDIS account executive David Kletzkin.

• ESPN Leadership Premier: Passion, Stewardship & Personal Development – March 5-7, 2008 – attended by Bob Koontz, VP General Manager. Bob attended sessions on Emotional Intelligence, Talent Across Generations, Conversations for Accomplishment, MicroMessaging, and The Success Delusion.

D. • Annual Public Service Media Workshop (Southern California Broadcasters Association, and Print, Interactive, Radio & Television Educational Society, a workshop designed to educate organizations through panel discussions with radio and television media) - October 11, 2007 – attended by LaFern Watkins, Producer & Public Affairs Host for KDIS and KSPN.

Career Day 2008 at Beverly Hills High School “Explore, Expand and Experience” – May 20, 2008 – Dave Denholm, Reporter, spoke in three thirty-five minute sessions. Each session held between 25-50 students. Dave told the students about the different jobs at KSPN and what we do on a daily basis and covering sports for a living. Dave opened the floor to questions and was very impressed by the students. Their questions were inquisitive and pertinent. They included questions like, "Are you assigned to your stories or do you choose them?" and, "Do you have to travel a lot" among many others. Some questions also led to discussions on various topics within sports broadcasting, such as the opportunities for women in the field.


• KDIS participated in the following career day at a local elementary school, designed to provide the children with information about different careers: Charles Barrett Elementary School Career Day, Los Angeles – April 10, 2008 – attended by Nate Bosley, KDIS Talent and Production Manager.
