About Us

ABC Building Products Limited (ABC BPL) is the newest venture of Associated Builders

Corporation (ABC) Limited - an eminent name in the construction industry of Bangladesh

that has successfully constructed many industrial structures, fertilizer factories, power

stations, multi-storied buildings, roads, bridges etc. costing million of US Dollars.

The vision of ABC BPL is to strive and improve the overall construction process of the

country including upgrading construction industry of the country to international

standard from its present state. Keeping this in mind, we are about to set up the

production plants of Concrete Block, Ready Mix Concrete, Terrazzo Tiles, Paving Blocks,

Pre-stressed Pre-cast Plates and Beams for RCC Buildings etc. to facilitate the state-of-

the-art construction and to advance the quality of construction in the country.

The first step in this process is to produce and supply Ready Mixed Concrete, a well-

timed and vital building material essentially needed in the current construction

scenario of this city.

In consideration of the recent tremors and quakes in the South Asian zone and the fast

growing construction in a space-crammed city like Dhaka, it is very essential to use RMC

in the buildings, especially high-rises and heavy structures, to ensure the best of quality

& strength and to prevent redundant wastage of time, effort, space and finance.

Introduction to ABC BPL

Ready Mixed Concrete (RMC) is a ready-to-use high quality concrete carefully manufactured with predetermined mixture of cement, sand, aggregates and water. It is manufactured in a centrally located batching plant under strictly controlled conditions, according to the specifications required by the customer. RMC is delivered to the worksite by transit mixer vehicles capable of stirring the concrete en route to keep the already-mixed concrete in correct form.

Facilities

! ABCBPL has set up its plant in Ashulia, which is just 30 minutes away from Dhaka city.

! The plant is fully equipped with concrete batching plant having three cement silos.

! All the raw materials (stone chips, sand, cement, water & admixture) are precisely weighed and mixed by PLC (a computer-controlled system), which ensures consistence of quality and accurate ratio of materials at a minimized cost.

! ABCBPL would be able to manufacture concrete maintaining the grade and mix design as required and instructed by the client.

! Concrete is delivered to client's construction site by Transit Mixer Trucks capable of stirring the mix en route to maintain the correct form.

! With the sophisticated computer controlled batching system of aggregates, our batching plant is capable of delivering a minimum

375~250 M (varies on location) concrete per day.

Quality Control

! ABCBPL has an up-to-date digitally equipped laboratory to test the concrete and aggregates etc. in precise conformity with British Standard.

! Mix designs are prepared by our trained technician in the laboratory and are inspected by our plant specialist before finalization.

! Quality Control Laboratory is used to test raw materials, monitor quality of concrete in production and to test the strength of concrete cubes/cylinders taken during production/delivery to clients.

! All delivery trucks are checked and certified by the Plant Manager before leaving for the delivery site.

! All equipments are attuned on a regular basis to standardized criteria to maintain the required efficiency and accuracy.

! All test records are filed in the lab for evaluation, review and references.

! Our control room interface can transfer all data from the control system to the computer where it can be processed and analyzed as per client's requirements.

Organization

Major (Retd.) Towhid Bin Ahmed commissioned from Bangladesh Military Academy in June 1987. After completion of 17 years of service, he took voluntary retirement from Bangladesh Army. In his long tenure of service with the Armed Forces, he took active part in a Peacekeeping mission in Mozambique under United Nations. After completing his Masters from National University, he also achieved the certification of Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) and later served as a Software Developer and Database Administrator for two years in Information Technology Directorate of Bangladesh Army Headquarters. With a structured training in discipline and a sound experience in organizational management, he has been administering ABC BPL as a CEO since early 2009.

ManagementRashed Chowdhury is a successful entrepreneur of Bangladesh, Chairman of Banga Garments Ltd, ABC Building Products Limited & director of Mutual Trust Bank Ltd, Shamsuddin Towels Limited and ABC Real Estates Ltd., has obtained Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Studies, UK. and a Post Graduate degree in Management Studies, UK.

Apart from business, Mr. Chowdhury has a keen interest in other essential spheres of life like education and sports. He is the Founder Trustee of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). He holds membership in Bangladesh Squash Rackets Federation, Kurmitola Golf Club, Rotary Club of Dhaka Central, Dhaka Club and Gulshan Club. He is currently the convener of Zone-4 of Gulshan Society.

Arch. Mostaqur Rahman, Director of Associated Builders Corporation Ltd, graduated from BUET, Faculty of Architecture in 1970.He started his career in 1971 by forming “Sreejoni”, an engineering construction & consulting firm. He formed another company named “Stone Steel Ltd” with a few friends and executed a number of prestigious projects before joining ABC in 1977 as a Director. As Director-in-Charge, he executed various types of projects including Power Plants, High Rise Buildings, Pharmaceutical Factories, Fertilizer Factories, Bridges, University Campus etc.

He designed the famous 13-storied ABC House at Kemal Ataturk Avenue, many residential buildings in Dhaka Metropolis and, most recently contributed in the design of the 13- storied ABC Heritage at Uttara. He is a member of Institute of Architects, Bangladesh (R-010). He is also member of Gulshan Club, Uttara Club and Dhaka Club and is an avid Snooker & Billiard player.

Zahidul Islam joined ABC Limited in 1980 after completion of his Bachelors from University of

Dhaka. He was involved in some important construction projects like Power Station, Water

Treatment Plant, Paper Mill, etc. in Khulna. From 1984 till 2002, he had been the Managing

Director of Banga Garments Ltd. In 2002, he was elected as a Director of ABC Limited.

Nashid Islam is a Chartered Engineer of the Institution of Engineers, UK, which is a prestigious

professional qualification. He has obtained degree on CEng (UK), P.Eng MS Civil & Structural

Engg., C.CM ( New York University). He is also member of ACI (USA), CMAA (USA) and IE(B). Mr.

Islam has done the structural design of a number of buildings in home & abroad. In ABC Real

Estates Limited, he has played the role of the Director-in-Charge from 1999 to 2005. His

contribution in the growth of the company was significant during this period. He was also a

member of the Executive Committee of REHAB for 2001-2007.

Srabanti Datta has accomplished BSBA majoring in Marketing & Legal Studies from USA and has

been looking after the Business Development and Marketing department of ABC Real Estates

Limited since 2002. She also partly oversees the administration of ABC BPL. Being a former

student of Holy Cross School & College and IBA, University of Dhaka, she maintains a wide

professional and social network. Apart from the professional responsibilities, Ms. Datta is also

an active enthusiast of art, culture & social welfare.
