The Donegal Harvest Stages rally is proud to announce the publication of this rally guide and hope all competitors will make use of the information. This year’s event is based in South County Donegal. The Abbey Hotel as the main sponsor of the event is delighted to be involved. To make it even more exciting this rally marks the closing round of the 2012 Dunlop and Border Rally Championships and it is apparent that the winner will be decided by this event. It has been eight years since this rally has been in the area which means the stages will be new to a large number of competitors. A compact route has been chosen by the organising committee leaving the stage miles more that road miles to keep all costs for competitors minimal. The event mileage equates to 140 Special Stage Kilometres and 115 Road Kilometres.

We are also delighted to announce the introduction of a Historic Rally which will have a reduced entry fee of €300 and consist of six special stages. We will also host a Junior Rally which will have a reduced entry fee of €300 and also consists of six special stages.

Over the rally weekend Room 2 Race will be attending the event. For those of you who are not familiar with Room 2 Race it is a live simulator which emulates a real-life rally experience. It will be present at the rally HQ, The Abbey Hotel over the weekend. Each crew will receive a voucher for one free pass on the simulator and the fastest crew over the weekend will win a REFUNDED ENTRY. Each additional pass on the simulator will cost €5.00. This is also open to members of the public with spot prizes for the quickest non-competitor. Check out www.room2race.co.uk for more information.

Reconnaisance Registration will take place as follows:

Rules and Regulations

The maximum speed allowed on a stage during reconnaissance is 60 kph unless a lower limit is indicated by a traffic sign or a written instruction issued by organisers. Traversing the stage in the wrong direction is expressly forbidden. Reports of breaches of above regulations will be submitted to Motorsport Ireland who may convene a court of inquiry.

Marking of the Route

The correct route of special stages will not be indicated by arrows along the stages during reconnaissance. Chicanes will be marked on the road.

Pacenotes can be used during the event and competitors will be allowed to make pacenotes on Sunday 7th 2012 09:00 and 17:00 and Friday 12th October 2012 between 09:00 and 16:00

Scrutineering Details


All competitors are required to have door decals on their car and have the first part of the Mechanical scrutiny sheet completed before they present the car for scrutiny.

Logbooks are required for all cars.

After completing Mechanical scrutiny competitors are required to present themselves at documentation scrutiny. You are allowed 30 minutes to get from mechanical scrutiny to documentation scrutiny.

Parc Ferme on Friday 12th October is compulsory for competitors immediately after scrutiny. Security will be provided at Parc Ferme.

Area is located on the outskirts of Donegal Town on the Ballybofey Road. There is no secuirty at trailer park. Follow the arrows marked, the Trailer Park / Unloading entrance is across from the Fire station, Turn right, continue past Watson Hire on your right and the Trailer Park / Unloading is located behind the Solo Store. Please obey marshal instructions and the one way system that will be implemented. See Appendix 2 & 3 for full location details.

NO UNLOADING ON THE SIDE OF THE MAIN ROAD AT SCRUTINY, 5 MINUTE PENALTY WILL BE APPLIED.

After completing mechanical scrutineering, competitors are required to present themselves at documentation scrutineering. You are allowed 30 minutes to get from mechanical scrutineering to documentation scrutineering.

Competition licences, IRDS or BRDS Letters of Acceptance and other documentation must be presented at documentation scrutineering.

Drivers competing cars off specified route to/from Scrutiny may lead to Exclusion.

There will be a Ceremonial Start at the Abbey Hotel, Donegal Town after 20:30 and attendance at this is compulsory for the top twenty crews. Crews are required to wear there suits, all crews attending are to be ready to leave Parc Ferme at 20.15. Penalties will be applied for non-attendance. Car must proceed directly back to Park Ferme after crossing the ramp. The rest of the field are welcome to attend also.

• A skip will be available in the Service Area. Please use this to dispose of all rubbish. • Portaloo’s are located at the start of selected stages (but not all) and in the Service Park. • All competitors must use a large non porous Service Mat when in the Service Park.
