ABB JOKAB SAFETY | Quick Guard® 2

The Quick-Guard® E modular panels are available in standard heights and widths for immediate delivery. Due to our patented design, the Quick-Guard® E fencing system is simple to adjust when safeguarding equipment. This design eliminates costly labor associated with welding, grinding, painting, drilling and tapping found in traditional systems.

The panel material is mechanically locked into the fence post profiles with our uniquely designed Net-Lock. The Net-Lock fastening device makes the panel virtually as strong as welded steel. Modifying the width of a wire mesh panel is easily accomplished with only bolt cutters.

Solid panels are locked in place with specially designed Infill-Locks that are as strong as the wire mesh Net-Lock system.

Headers or footers may be required for mounting cable duct and/or other components. Order the appropriate number of

pre-cut header profiles for each panel width. To attach headers, L brackets are used in corners or next to doors. T Brackets are used for continuous panel runs. After assembling the project, verify the alignment, and secure the vertical profiles to the floor.

Quick-Guard® E modular fencing system

The Quick-Guard® E modular system is engineered to be installed quickly and cost-effectively. It consists of aluminum profile fence posts with floor brackets, patented net-locks, end caps, u-profiles and welded mesh or (optional) solid panels. In traditional systems, these components are packaged in a box and require assembly. With Quick-Guard® E, the panels are shipped pre-assembled and ready to attach to the next panel in the modular system.

Quick-Guard® E is a modular perimeter fencing system that easily creates a barrier between people and a dangerous machine or area.

Quick-Guard® E pre-assembled sections

The Quick-Guard® E–Fencing SectionsQuick-Guard® E can be ordered in various sections with minimal components. By combining the different sections, one can easily design and build a complete fencing system.

Modular Panel Sections and PostsPanel widths are measured from center to center of each vertical 44x44mm posts. Each panel comes with the aluminum u-channel attached to the wire mesh and Net-Locks (or InFill Locks) securing one side of the mesh panel to the vertical post. Additional Net-Locks are provided to complete attaching the next panel sections. End caps, floor mounts, and spacer screws are included with the pre-assembled panel. Part numbers for each panel can be found in the chart below.

Modular Door SectionsDoor widths are measured from center to center of each 44x88mm vertical post. Each door comes assembled with all required hardware (frame, brackets, crossbar, handle, hinges, stops and magnetic catch). The door header is provided with two L brackets. Additional header T brackets can be ordered separately if required. Part numbers for each width can be found in the chart below.

Quick-Guard® E accessories


L,T and I BracketsL, T and I brackets are made from cast aluminum and incorporate T Slot alignment tabs that allow us to make 90 degree corners between two aluminum profiles. The screws are counter sunk hex head with attached T Nuts allowing you to make an easy connection.

Header ProfileUse a 44x44mm header profile when making cable runs or adding cable duct across the top of the fencing panel. Header profile comes pre-cut for standard Quick-Guard® E section widths of 2000 (for Double Door), 1500, 1100, 1000, 700 and 500mm. When using a header, the wire mesh is required to be lowered 12mm. This allows the header to fit flush with the top of the vertical post profile. Please note: The actual length of a header profile is 44mm less than standard section widths to accommodate for the existing vertical posts. Order T and L brackets separately.

L brackets are used typically in corners and on doors.

T brackets are used typically in continuous runs.

I brackets are used typically to connect two 44x44mm profiles side by side.

Quick-Guard® E sample project

Helpful Tips:When counting the number of T and L Brackets for headers/footers on your sketch, start at a corner and work your way around each connection labeling them T or L. Then, count the number of T & L connections.

Typically, the fencing is not secured to the floor until it is assembled and correctly positioned and aligned. Use 5/16-1/2" or 8-10mm diameter lag bolts (not provided).

The level of your floor will affect the assembly of the Quick-Guard® E modular fencing and may require slight post adjustments.

How to Design your Quick-Guard® E Project

1. Define the fencing perimeter around the machine and sketch it on a piece of paper. Then, establish where doors will be located and add overall dimensions (convert to millimeters to make it easy). 1"=25.4mm

2. Determine the panel layout using standard panel widths of 1500, 1100, 1000, 700, and 500mm where possible, taking into consideration field modified panels to match your exact dimension. Add dimensions between centerlines of the vertical posts.

3. Count panels and doors and add to the Bill of Materials (BOM).

4. Count Headers and Brackets (if necessary) and add to BOM. Start at a corner and work around each connection and label it T or L. Then, count the number of T and L connections. When required, add safety switch mounting brackets.

5. Send sketch and BOM to your local authorized ABB JOKAB SAFETY distributor to be reviewed and quoted.
