Since your college is a member of the SAP University Alliance, a University Competency Center (UCC) provides the SAP server-side software installations needed for course material. However, there is an SAP GUI client-side software1 that must be installed on the computer you work on. Check with the instructor for download locations if you want to install this on your own computer.

In order to use ABAP Workbench you'll need the following information:

server name: _______________________

client: ___________

username: __________

password: __________ (Typically, this is initially set to '123456')

Open the SAP Front End\SAP Logon.

Select the server name and click Log On.

Enter the client number, your username, and password. Hit the ENTER key or click the

checkmark. Note: The checkmark will often referred to as “enter” in future instructions.

The first time you log on you will be prompted to change your password.

The password is case sensitive ('abc' is NOT the same as 'Abc').

There must be at least 6 characters. Do not start the password with a number

but after the first character, letters or numbers are OK.

You are now logged on to SAP.

1 There is a web-based alternative to the GUI client-side software but there will be some variations in the screens. Check with your instructor if you want to try using the web-based interface. Examples shown throughout the lessons will be based on the client-side SAP GUI. You will have to figure out the variations in screens.
