Bachelor of Business Administration is the basic course for
management studies. In this course various aspects of a business are
covered.
In order to get a detailed in sight in the activities of a firm
theoretical as well as practical knowledge is necessary. for this
purpose. An “Industrial Visit” was undertaken by the student of first
year BBA programme.
The unit chosen for Industrial Visit “ABAD CHEMICALS
Ltd., ANKLESHWAR”. Here we undertook the visit of the
company and learned about various functions of the firm.
The various department visited by me were production
department, Marketing department, Finance department etc… On the
basis of the various information provided to us by the company and
other persons as well as sources has helped me a lot to prepare this
project report.

on ABAD CHEMICALS Ltd., An oasis in the desert. The architect
of ABAD CHEMICALS Ltd., (Mr. BABUBHAI G. PATEL),
founder chaimen was a simple person with great farsightedness who
had a gream to provide respectable facilities to the people.

COMPANY OVERVIEW
THE PAST
The promoters Mr.Babubhai G. Patel, Mr.Dahyabhai M. Patel &
Bharatbhai D. Patel, established in 1987 first well equipped plant,M/S ABAD
CHEMICALS, manufacturing PIGMENT YELLOW & PIGMENT ORANGE
with capacity of 10 MT. per month.
In addition to the above, M/S ADVAITYA DYE CHEM has
been setup in 1989 with an additional capacity of 10 MT. PIGMENT
ORANGE per month.
M/S ARPIT INDUSTRIES started the production of
PIGMENT GREEN : 7 in 2000 with production capacity of 20 MT.
per month.
M/S AMITA CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES built up for
manufacturing of BLUE (ALFA) 15:1 & BLUE (BETA) with
capacity of 15MT. per month in 1993.
M/S KHATU SHREE CHEM established in 1995 for
manufacturing PIGMENT RED:3, RED 48:2, RED 53:1 & RED
57:1, with capacity of 10 MT. per month.
PRESENT
M/s Abad Chemical
At Present M/s ABAD CHEMICAL increase its manufacturing
capacity up to 15 MT. per month & M/s ADVAITYA DYE
CHEMICALS up to 15 MT. The total manufacturing capacity of
group is 70 MT. per month.
At present, out of the total capacity , we export directly about
25%, through merchant exporters about 50% and our domestic sale is
about 25%, .
Future - BY 2010
The plan of group is increase direct export up to 100% of
production capacity. The well equipped plant of
PIGMENT
VIOLET:23 having capacity of 5 MT. per month is in
projection & will start its production before the end of
2010.

and Development centre at ABAD CHEMICALS. LTD. was formally set up in
1986. The R & D centre is recognized by DSIR, Ministry of Science and
Technology, Government of India in 1988 as an in house R & D unit. The
centre is manned by highly qualified team of scientists and technologists.

MEANING OF MARKETING DEPARTMENT
“Marketing is the process of planning and executing. The
concept of marketing is pricing, distributing of good and services and
ideas to create exchange that satisfy individual and organization
goals”
A social and managerial process by which an individual
and groups obtain what they need and want though creating and
exchanging products and value having with others.
Marketing is typically seen as the creating promotion
and delivering goods and service to customer and business. Mainly
the marketing of any company involves the different entries, their
goods, services, experiences, properties, organization’s information
and ideas. The product concepts hold also that the consumer will also
favour those products that offer the most quality performance and
innovative features.
MARKETING FUCTION ANALYSIS
Marketing is only function, which directly deals with
consumer. The heart of modern marketing is creating customer values
and satisfaction. The common definition of marketing is delivery of
customer satisfaction profit. The main goal of marketing is to attract
new consumer by providing superior values and to keep current

DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
Most producers work with marketing intermediaries to
bring their products to market. The marketing intermediaries make up
a marketing channel also called distribution channel.

organization involved in the process of making a products or service
available for use or consumption.
A zero level of channel also called a direct marketing

Recruitment and selection process are inter related. Both

WAGES AND SALARY
Wages and salary both are different salary are only in terms of
money while wages are in terms of money and real wages.
Attendance is considered to be one of the major and important
factors responsible for the wages and salary administration.
Common method is followed for the wages and salary
administration the present catalogue record received form the time
keeping office. The present record is maintained to each employee in
the register which is known as master roll.
Time keeper sends this master roll to the account dept.
Attendance of each and every employee is analyzed and entered into
computer. The record is scrutinized and statutory and non-statutory
deductions are made after this salary is calculated for each employee
through computer.
The wages are paid in cash and also credited in corporate
salary a/c. Employee wages are deducting to grade of workers. Abad
chemicals industry gives salary to their employee according to their
work. Salary is different as their knowledge and work in the

Training and management development are two separate
things. Training is required for persons working at operative level and
it required for increasing the knowledge and skills of employee. So
that they can perform their tasks in the best manner while

Training and management development contribute a lot in increasing
the productivity.
In this company workers are give training according to
their work and to introduce new technology training plays very
important roll in the development of the organization because through
training we can make our employee skill-full in our work and we

MR. ASHOKBHAI M PATEL who is working
with company in their plant they have done their work honesty and
they don’t have ego of their position so, due to this kind of nature
they are given promotion and he is handling the this plant on their self
and they also succeed in it today this plant is also famous and one of
the best chemicals company in the India. The success of this plant is
wholly belongs to MR. Ashok Patel who has perform his duty very
well with-out any ego of his position in the company.
Promotions on the transfer of an employee do a job. Which play more
money is one that carries some preferred status. In abad chemicals
industry mainly two promotions policy are taken.
a. Automatic promotion.
b. Merit cum seniority.
The promotion and transfer policy of this company is very
good they give promotion to their employee only on the basis of their
work and honesty.

FINANCE MANAGEMENT
INTRODUCTION :-
Financial management is that part of managerial activity
which is concerned with planning & controlling of the firm’s
financial resources. It is an applied branch of general
management. Chief duties of financial management are planning
& controlling of corporate finance. Financial management is
called upon to take three major decisions viz. Investment
decision, Financing & dividend decision. Financial management
involves the implementation of this three major decision. It is an
integrate part of over all management rather than a staff activity
concerned with fond raising operations with sound management
of financial resources. Business can not achieve its objectives &
may occur heavy losses.
During my visiting Abad Chemicals Ltd. I found separate
finance department to handle all activities of the unit regarding
auditing & accounting. Mr. Bharatbhai Patel (C.A) is the
financial manager of Abad Chemicals Ltd. who provided me
various information about finance.
In Abad chemicals Ltd. I found efficient & effective
organization structure. Finance department works under finance
manager. All activities of finance department are monitored by
finance manager of finance who works under managing director
of Abad chemicals Ltd. Chief accountant & accountant associate
works under finance manager.

firm & determining the sources of funds is called financial
planning.
It includes:-
1) Determination of the quantum of finance i.e. the amount
needed for implementing business plans.

financial plans.
4) Estimation of the extent to which there requirement can
be get by internally generated funds & to extent
procurents of funds should be made.

Fixed assets represents economic resources are very
valuable for any firm. Possessive of fixed assets like building,
plant & machinery, vehicles etc. are very important for the
credibility of the firm.

management. It has adopted straight line method for calculating
