To represent law students’ viewpoints to the ABA and to represent the ABA and all of its benefits to law students;

To help shape the policies and priorities that affect legal education; and

The Assembly is the policymaking body of the Division.

The Assembly convenes only once a year at the Division's portion of the ABA Annual Meeting.

Assembly membership is comprised of two official voting delegates from each ABA-approved law school:

During the Assembly, delegates debate and vote on resolutions and issues of concern to law students, legal education, and the legal profession.

Along with the SBA President, representsrepresents their law school to the ABA Law Student Division by voting by voting in the Assembly on resolutions of concern to law students and legal education.

ElectsElects the Circuit Governors at their Spring Circuit Meetings and the Division’s 3 Delegates to the ABA House of Delegates at the Annual Meeting.

ServesServes as voice of law students/schools in the Division and the ABA.◦ BringsBrings law student concerns and issues to the forefront on a local,

regional, and national level; HelpsHelps law students enhance their law school experience by communicating

and disseminating information regarding the hundreds of law student opportunities and resources offered by the ABA.

Per the U.S. Department of Education, receivesreceives critical legal education communications from the ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar, regarding accreditation matters, for circulation to their student bodies.
