BPIBPI®® IDL CertificationInfiltration & Duct Leakage Certification

The testing portion of the certification for BPI-IDL is held exclusively at Contractors Institute Learning Center on the west coast of Florida in Pasco County, Hudson. Our fully equipped testing facility utilizes Retrotec equipment and offers a one-stop shop for complete Infiltration & Duct Leakage Certification. This professional certification requires verification of knowledge, skills, and field performance of set up and preparation of the whole house depressurization utilizing a blower door assembly as well as a duct pressurization test, performing total system leakage, leakage to outside and general analysis. A passing mark of 85% is required for successful certification.

It is strongly recommended that candidates complete the CI Certified Blower Door Technician training as laid out on the previous page prior to scheduling this exam. This 2 hour session includes a 30 minute overview and discussion of the equipment used for testing and the necessary review of the critical tasks needed to complete the field exam and 1 1/2 hours to complete the hands-on elements of the exam. Visit cicertified.com/bpi-idl/ for complete details.

Contractors Institute is an authorized testing center for BPI-IDL Certification. Although BPI does not require training prior to attempting certification, in-dividuals typically perform better on the BPI IDL exam after completing the specialized education & hands on training offered through the CI Certified CI-BDT (Blower Door Technician) program. The BPI-IDL exam consists of three main components relating to Air Infiltration and Duct Leakage: whole house air infiltration verification & testing, total air distribution system leakage and air distribution leakage to the outside, All specific to new residential construction.

TESTING SESSIONS ARE LIMITED TO 4 STUDENTS PER SESSION - REGISTER EARLY
