• Estimates are made up of an estimate header, a group list, and a group’s item list– In the future, project templates will be
created– Templates will have the common items
filled in– For Consultants, templates will be stored
on the CTDOT Internet
• On Main menu, select File->New• Save the Estimate file
– Every so often select the File->Save

• Automatically set by the catalog that was selected
• Base Date – anticipated Letting date• If Letting date not known, take FDP date +

• If not readily available, use Google Earth*• Federal/State Project Number – Use Federal Aid
Project (FAP) number if known; otherwise leave blank
