ལམ་གར་འབས་བ་རག་འཛན་རམ་པ་བཞ། །མཐར་ཕན་སབ་གཉས་ཀན་སངས་མཁན་གཉས་རས།།lam gyur drebu rigdzin nampa shyi tarchin drib nyi kün sang khyen nyi gyéThe four vidyādhara levels—the paths’ fruition perfected, the two obscurations purified, the twofold knowledge unfolded,

Arrange offering articles, outer and inner, gathering articles, whatever you can acquire.༔ Then, sitting on a comfortable seat, exhale the stale breath,༔Arouse renunciation for the three realms of samsara,༔ and generate compassion, the supreme mind of awakening.༔Then, inspired by deep-felt devotion,༔ engage in the preliminary, main, and concluding parts of the practice.༔ Samaya.༔

སན་དང་འཇག་པའ་བང་ཆབ་སམས་བསད་ནས༔ རགས་འདས་བ་མའ་ག་འཕང་བསབ་པར་བག༔mön dang jukpé changchub semkyé né༔ rik dü lamé gopang drubpar gyi༔I arouse the bodhicitta of aspiration and application༔ and vow to accomplish the state of the guru who embodies all families!༔

༄༅། །ཕ་ནང་གསང་བ་མཆག་ག་མཆད་པ་འབལ༔ རང་བཞན་བཅས་པའ་སག་ལང་སང་ནས་བཤགས༔chi nang sangwa chok gi chöpa bul༔ rangshyin chepé diktung nying né shak༔I present outer, inner, secret, and supreme offerings.༔ Misdeeds and breaches, both pledged and natural, I wholeheartedly confess.༔

ཀན་བཟང་སད་པ་ར་མཚར་རས་ཡ་རང་༔ སན་གལ་ཆས་ཀ་འཁར་ལ་བསར་བར་བསལ༔künzang chöpa gyatsor jé yi rang༔ mindrol chö kyi khorlo korwar kul༔In the ocean of ever-excellent deeds I rejoice.༔ I entreat you to turn the dharma wheel of ripening and liberation.༔

གཟགས་ས་མ་ངན་མ་འདའ་བཞགས་གསལ་འདབས༔ དག་ཚགས་བང་ཆབ་སང་པར་བས་བར་བག༔zukku nya ngen mi da shyuk soldeb༔ gé tsok changchub nyingpor ngowar gyi༔Do not let your form body pass into nirvana, but remain here, I pray!༔ All gatherings of virtue I dedicate to true awakening!༔

༄༅། །ཞས་བརད་རལ་མས་བན་དབབ་བ༔ ས་མ་ཡ༔Say this, play music, and thus make the resplendence descend.༔ Samaya.༔

གཉས་པ་དངས་གཞའ་དང་པ་ན༔ དམ་ཚག་དཀལ་འཁར་འཁར་ལ་བསད༔2. The main part.A. The first point here༔ is visualizing the circle of the samaya mandala.༔

ཟང་འཇག་རག་རལ་ར་ཡ་ཡ་ག་ཧཿ གསལ་འཚར་འད་ཀ་ཐག་ལ་དམར་ལ་དངས༔zungjuk riktsal gyu yi yigé hrih༔ sal tser ö kyi tiklé mar la dang༔their unity, the expression of awareness, the seed syllable HRĪH [ཧཿ], a lucid, brilliant light sphere, red and clear,༔


ཡ་ཤས་སང་བས་ཕགས་རམས་ཀན་ཏ་ཁབ༔ སད་བཅད་ཕང་ཁམས་ས་མཆད་དངས་འཛན་སངས༔yeshe nangwé chok nam küntu khyab༔ nöchü pung kham kyeché ngödzin jang༔Its wisdom radiance streaming in all directions,༔ purifying grasping to vessel and contents, to aggregates, elements, and sense sources, as real.༔

སང་པའ་ངང་ལས་ར་རའ་སང་འཁར་དབས༔ འབང་བ་རམ་བརགས་རན་ཆན་ར་རབ་སང་༔tongpé ngang lé dorjé sungkhor ü༔ jungwa rim tsek rinchen rirab teng༔From within emptiness, amidst the vajra protection circle,༔ are the stacked elements and the supreme jewel mountain.༔

བང་ཆབ་སམས་དཔའ་ནར་བའ་གཞལ་མད་ཁང་༔ ཡངས་ཤང་ར་ཆ་བཀད་པ་བསམ་མ་ཁབ༔changchub sempé norbü shyalmé khang༔ yang shing gyaché köpa sam mikhyab༔Upon them stands a boundless jewel palace, abode of the bodhisattva,༔ spacious and vast, its design surpassing thought,༔


༄༅། །མཚན་ཉད་ཀན་རགས་འཇའ་ཟར་ཐག་ལའ་ཀང་༔ ས་ཚགས་པད་ཉ་དབགས་བལ་བམ་རའ་སང་༔tsennyi kün dzok jazer tiklé long༔ natsok pé nyi ukdral bamrö teng༔with all attributes replete. There, within a sphere of rainbow light,༔ upon a multi-colored lotus, sun disc, and corpse seat༔

བདག་ཉད་ཧཿཡག་ཡངས་གར་སད་ཅག་གས༔ རལ་ཀན་ཡམ་གར་ར་ར་རལ་འབར་མ༔daknyi hrih yik yong gyur kechik gi༔ gyal kün yum gyur dorjé naljorma༔I am the syllable HRĪH [ཧཿ], transform in an instant༔ into Vajrayogini, mother of all victors.༔

ར་ལག་གཡས་ས་ར་རའ་ཕག་ཞལ་ངར༔ དབ་ས་གནག་སམ་སལ་མས་ས་རབ་ཁབས༔natak yé su dorjé pak shyal ngur༔ utra nak num silmé kugyab kheb༔Above my right ear is a braying vajra-sow’s head.༔ My hair, a lustrous black, flows loosely down my back.༔

ཕག་གཡས་ག་གག་བདད་བཞ་དབངས་ས་སལ༔ གཡན་པས་ཐད་ཁག་བད་སང་ཡ་ཤས་སར༔chak yé driguk dü shyi ying su drol༔ yönpé tötrak detong yeshe jor༔With a curved knife in my right hand, I liberate the four maras into basic space.༔ My left hand proffers a skullcup filled with blood, the union of wisdom and empty bliss.༔

ག་མར་ཟང་འཇག་ཁ་ཏ་ར་གསམ་འཆང་༔ ཞབས་གཉས་གཡས་བསམ་སད་པའ་ས་ས་དགག༔drumor zungjuk kha tam tsesum chang༔ shyab nyi yé kum sipé kyego gak༔In the crook of my arm, I bear a three-pointed khatvāoga of unity.༔ I have two legs—the right is drawn in to block the birth-doors to existence,༔


༄༅། །གཡན་བརང་ཞ་ལ་མ་གནས་སང་རས་རལ༔ བད་མཆག་ཆ་བའ་ཡན་ཏན་རགས་པའ་ས༔yön kyang shyi la mi né nyingjé rol༔ demchok chewé yönten dzokpé ku༔the left stretches out in compassion’s display, not content to rest in peace.༔ This body of perfect qualities, supreme exalted bliss,༔

དར་དང་རན་ཆན་རས་པའ་ཕག་རས་བརན༔ ཐགས་ཀ་ཆས་ཀ་འཁར་ལའ་འད་ལའ་ཀང་༔dar dang rinchen rüpé chakgyé gyen༔ tukka chö kyi khorlö ö ngé long༔is bedecked with silks and jewels, and mudras of bone.༔ In my heart center, the expanse of the dharmachakra of five-colored light,༔

སང་ཉད་པད་འདབ་བརད་རས་པའ་དབས༔ ཐབས་ཤས་རང་སམས་ཉ་ཟའ་གདན་ག་སང་༔nying nyi pema dab gyé gyepé ü༔ tabshé lungsem nyidé den gyi teng༔in the center of the heart—a blooming eight-petalled lotus—༔ lies a seat of sun and moon disc, of skilful means and insight, of prāna and mind.༔


ཤས་རག་རལ་པ་རགས་འདས་བ་མ་མཆག༔ པདའ་མ་ག་བད་ཆན་སམས་པའ་གཙ༔sherig gyalpo rik dü lama chok༔ pemé nyugu dechen sempé tso༔Upon this sits the supreme guru who embodies all families, King of Awareness,༔ Lotus Essence, chief bodhisattva of great bliss.༔

དམར་གསལ་ད་མད་མཚན་དཔའ་ཕང་པར་བཞངས༔ ཟག་མད་བད་བའ་ཉམས་འགར་ཡངས་ས་རགས༔mar sal drimé tsenpé pungpor shyeng༔ zakmé dewé nyamgyur yongsu dzok༔Brilliant red, manifest as a mountain of the immaculate marks and signs,༔ he is utterly perfect, the expression of undefiled bliss.༔

སང་རའ་སན་ཟང་རས་ཆགས་ཟམ་བར་གཟགས༔ ཞ་ཞང་འཛམ་ལ་སག་པའ་གཟ་བན་འབར༔nyingjé chen zung jé chak zim bur zik༔ shyi shying dzum la gekpé zijin bar༔With compassionate eyes half-closed, and a gaze suffused with love,༔ peaceful and smiling, with a majestic, charming presence,༔


༄༅། །དབ་ས་ཟར་ཕད་ས་བར་བཅངས་པའ་རར༔ ཉ་ཟའ་འད་འཕ་རན་ཆན་འབར་བས་མཚན༔utra zur pü chiwor chingpé tser༔ nyidé ö tro rinchen barwé tsen༔his hair is bound on his crown in a topknot༔ marked at its tip with a radiant jewel glowing with the light of the sun and moon,༔

ལག་མ་ལང་ལ་སལ་བ་གཡས་གཡན་གལ༔ ཕག་གཡས་མཆག་སན་ཕག་རས་གདལ་བ་ལ༔lhakma changlo silbu yé yön drol༔ chak yé chok chin chakgyé dulja la༔and the rest hanging loose, flowing over his right and left shoulders.༔ His right hand, held in the mudra of supreme giving,༔

དངས་གབ་ཆར་འབབས་ཡད་བཞན་ནར་བ་བསམས༔ གཡན་པས་འག་ཀན་སད་ཞའ་འཇགས་པ་ལས༔ngödrub charbeb yishyin norbu nam༔ yönpé dro kün sishyi jikpa lé༔bears a wish-fulfilling jewel, showering siddhis upon disciples.༔ His left hand, at his heart, holds the stem of a blue lotus,༔


སབས་སན་ཕག་རས་ཨཏལ་ཐགས་ཀར་འཆང་༔ མ་ཏག་སན་ག་ཐད་སར་ཁ་བ་བར༔kyab jin chakgyé utpal tukkar chang༔ metok nyen gyi té sor kha jewar༔in the mudra of protecting all beings from all terrors of existence and peace.༔ The flower, blossoming by his ear,༔

འཆ་མད་མཆག་སལ་བདད་རའ་ཚ་བམ་མཚན༔ སང་རའ་ར་དགས་པགས་པས་སད་གཡགས་ཤང་༔chimé chok tsol dütsi tsebum tsen༔ nyingjé ridak pakpé töyok shing༔is marked by an amrita-filled life vase that bestows supreme immortality.༔ With the skin of an antelope, compassion’s insignia, covering his torso,༔

ཆ་བའ་ཡན་ཏན་དར་དང་རན་ཆན་བརན༔ འག་འདལ་ཞབས་ཟང་ཕད་སལ་རལ་པས་འགང་༔chewé yönten dar dang rinchen gyen༔ drodul shyabzung chekyil rolpé gying༔he is adorned with the silks and jewels of exalted qualities.༔ His two legs, to influence beings, are poised in the loosely-crossed posture.༔


༄༅། །ས་བར་རགས་བདག་པད་ཀན་ཏ་འཆང་༔ དམར་གསལ་པད་དལ་འཛན་ཡམ་དང་སར༔chiwor rikdak pema küntu chang༔ mar sal pema dril dzin yum dang jor༔On his crown is Universal Lotus Holder, Lord of the Family,༔ a brilliant red, holding lotus and bell, and in union with consort.༔

དར་དང་རན་ཆན་རན་ལན་པད་ཟར་བཞགས༔ ཐགས་ཀར་ཡ་ཤས་སམས་དཔའ་པདའ་སན༔dar dang rinchen gyenden pé dar shyuk༔ tukkar yeshe sempa pemé chen༔Replete with silks and jewel ornaments, he sits upon a lotus and moon.༔ At his heart center is the jñānasattva Lotus Eyes,༔

གང་འདལ་སར་བཞངས་ཨ་རན་ཚ་དཔག་མད༔ ར་གའ་མདག་ཅན་ཞ་འཛམ་ཆགས་ཉམས་རས༔gang dul kur shyeng orgyen tsepakmé༔ ragé dokchen shyi dzum chak nyam gyé༔manifesting according to beings’ needs as Uddiyana Amitāyus.༔ Ruby-colored, peacefully smiling, with a passionate demeanor,༔


མཉམ་བཞག་ཕག་རས་ཐད་པ་ཚ་བམ་བསམས༔ གཉས་མད་བད་སར་པད་མན་ར༔nyamshyak chakgyé töpa tsebum nam༔ nyimé dé jor pema mandhara༔in the mudra of equanimity, holding skullcup with life vase,༔ he is joined in blissful non-dual union with Lotus Mandarava.༔

དམར་ས་མདའ་དར་ཚ་བམ་བསམས་པས་འཁལ༔ གཉས་ཀ་དར་དང་རན་ཆན་ཨཏལ་བརན༔markya dadar tsebum nampé tril༔ nyika dar dang rinchen utpal gyen༔Light red in color, holding silken arrow and life vase, she embraces him.༔ Both are adorned with silks, jewels, and blue lotuses,༔

ཆ་སས་ཉ་ཟ་རས་པའ་གདན་ག་དབས༔ ར་ར་པདའ་སལ་ཀང་རལ་པས་བཞགས༔chukyé nyida gyepé den gyi ü༔ dorjé pemé kyiltrung rolpé shyuk༔seated in the center of an open lotus, sun, and moon disc seat,༔ in the playful vajra and lotus postures.༔


༄༅། །གཞན་ཡང་ཕང་པ་ཁམས་དང་ས་མཆད་ཀན༔ མ་བསད་གདད་ནས་ཡ་རགས་ལ་ཡ་ས༔shyenyang pungpo kham dang kyeché kün༔ ma kyé döné yé dzok lha yi ku༔Moreover, the aggregates, elements, and sense sources༔ are all unborn, primordially perfect divine form.༔

གཟགས་སང་རལ་བ་རག་པ་རམ་སང་མཛད༔ ཚར་བ་ར་ར་ཉ་མ་རན་ཆན་འབང་༔zuk nang gyalwa takpa namnang dzé༔ tsorwa dorjé nyima rinchen jung༔All forms that appear are the Permanent Victor, Vairocana.༔ Sensations are the Vajra Sun, Ratnasambhava.༔

འད་ཤས་པད་གར་དབང་སང་མཐའ་ཡས༔ འད་བད་ར་མཆག་རལ་པ་དན་ཡད་གབ༔dushé pema gar wang nang tayé༔ dujé tachok gyalpo dön yö drub༔Perceptions are the Lotus Lord of the Dance, Amitābha.༔ Conditioning is the Supreme Horse King, Amoghasiddhi.༔


རམ་ཤས་སད་ཞར་མ་གནས་ཧ་ར་ཀ༔ ཡ་ཤས་ཟང་འཇག་འད་གསལ་ར་ར་སམས༔namshé sishyir mi né heruka༔ yeshe zungjuk ösal dorjé sem༔Consciousness is the heruka who abides in neither existence nor peace,༔ Vajrasattva, the luminous unity of original wakefulness.༔

འབང་བའ་ཁམས་ཀན་ར་ར་བཙན་མ་ཡམ༔ དབང་ཡལ་རག་ཚགས་སམས་དཔའ་ལམ་དལ་དང་༔jungwé kham kün dorjé tsünmo yum༔ wang yul toktsok sempa chamdral dang༔All elemental properties are the Vajra Mother Queens.༔ Faculties, objects, and concepts are the clouds of male and female bodhisattvas,༔

ཐབ་དག་མཐར་བད་ཁ་བ་ཁ་མའ་སན༔ ས་ལས་ཞང་ཁམས་ར་མཚའ་བཀད་པ་འཕ༔tub druk tar jé trowo tromö trin༔ ku lé shyingkham gyatsö köpa tro༔the six munis, and the terminating wrathful ones, male and female.༔ From their bodily forms an ocean-like array of pure realms radiates out.༔


༄༅། །རབ་འབམས་ཞང་ཀན་བ་ས་གཅག་ཏ་རགས༔ ཡ་ཤས་ས་མའ་སང་བརན་བསམ་མ་ཁབ༔rabjam shying kün bapu chik tu dzok༔ yeshe gyumé nangnyen sam mikhyab༔All these infinite realms are contained within a single pore,༔ inconceivable reflections of wisdom magic,༔

གསལ་སང་ཟང་འཇག་འཇའ་ཚན་ལར་ཤར་བའ༔ གནས་གསམ་ར་རའ་ཡ་གའ་འཕ་འད་ཡས༔saltong zungjuk jatsön tar sharwé༔ né sum dorjé yigé trodu yi༔unity of clarity and emptiness, manifest like rainbows.༔ From all their three places the vajra syllables radiate out and gather back in.༔

ས་གསང་ཐགས་ཀ་ར་རར་རས་བཏབ་ཅང་༔ ཕང་པ་འབང་བ་གནས་འགར་ཡ་ཤས་ལས༔ku sung tuk kyi dorjér gyé tab ching༔ pungpo jungwa negyur yeshe ngé༔Sealing them with vajra body, speech, and mind.༔ Aggregates and elements are thus transformed into the five wisdoms,༔

སང་གའ་ཡ་ཤས་སམས་དཔའ་ཡ༔ ཐགས་དབས་པད་ཉ་ཟའ་སང་༔nyinggé yeshe sempa yi༔ tuk ü pema nyidé teng༔In my heart center, in the heart center of the jñānasattva,༔ upon a lotus, sun, and moon disc༔

རགས་འདས་ཐགས་སག་ཧཿཡག་མཐར༔ ར་ར་སགས་ཀ་ཕང་བས་བསར༔rik dü tuk sok hrih yik tar༔ dorjé ngak kyi trengwé kor༔Is the life-force embodying all families, the syllable HRĪH [ཧཿ].༔ Circling around it is the vajra mantra garland,༔

གསལ་ཞང་འབར་བའ་སང་བ་དང་༔ རང་སམས་དབར་མད་གཅག་ཏ་འདས༔sal shying barwé nangwa dang༔ lungsem yermé chik tu dré༔shining with light that is limpid and radiant.༔ Wind-energy and mind mingle indivisibly into one.༔


རག་རལ་རལ་པའ་འད་ཟར་གས༔ ར་གསམ་རལ་བ་རབ་འབམས་དང་༔riktsal rolpé özer gyi༔ tsa sum gyalwa rabjam dang༔Light-rays of the playful expression of awareness radiate out༔ to the infinite victors of the Three Roots,༔

ཁད་པར་པདས་ཁབས་པའ་ཞང་༔ བད་ཆན་མཆག་ག་ཕ་བང་ནས༔khyepar pemé khebpé shying༔ dechen chok gi podrang né༔and in particular towards the Lotus-covered pure realm,༔ to the palace of exalted great bliss,༔

རགས་འདས་པདའ་མ་ག་ཆ༔ སམས་དཔའ་ར་མཚའ་ཚགས་བཅས་ལ༔rik dü pemé nyugu ché༔ sempa gyatsö tsok ché la༔to the great Lotus Essence, who embodies all families,༔ and to his ocean-like gathering of bodhisattvas,༔

བ་ན་མད་པའ་དགས་མཆད་འབལ༔ དམ་ཚག་ཉམས་ཆགས་སག་ལང་སངས༔lanamepé gyé chö bul༔ damtsik nyamchak diktung jang༔presenting offerings of unsurpassable delight.༔ This purifies damaged and broken samayas, misdeeds, and downfalls;༔


༄༅། །ཐགས་རད་རང་དབང་མད་པར་བསལ༔ ས་གསང་ཐགས་ཀ་ཡ་ཤས་བན༔tukgyü rangwang mepar kul༔ ku sung tuk kyi yeshe jin༔automatically invokes their wisdom minds;༔ and gathers back the wisdom splendor of Body, Speech, and Mind༔

ལ་སགས་འད་ཟར་རམ་པར་བསས༔ མ་འགར་ཐགས་སག་ཧཿལ་ཐམ༔lha ngak özer nampar dü༔ migyur tuk sok hrih la tim༔in the form of deities, mantras, and rays of lights.༔ They dissolve into the unchanging life-force HRĪH [ཧ],༔

གསང་གསམ་བན་དབང་དངས་གབ་ཐབ༔ ཐགས་ཡད་དབར་མད་གཅག་ཏ་འདས༔sang sum jin wang ngödrub tob༔ tuk yi yermé chik tu dré༔and I obtain the blessings, empowerments, and siddhis of the three secrets.༔ Their wisdom minds mingle indivisibly with my own,༔


འད་གསལ་དགངས་པའ་རལ་ཆན་རགས༔ སར་འཕས་འག་ཀན་སབ་གཉས་སངས༔ösal gongpé tsal chen dzok༔ lar trö dro kün drib nyi jang༔and the great strength of the realization of luminosity is perfected.༔ Light-rays radiate out once more, purifying the two veils of all beings.༔

སད་བཅད་པད་སམས་དཔའ་ཡ༔ སང་སང་ལ་དང་གགས་སང་སགས༔nöchü pema sempa yi༔ nangtong lha dang drak tong ngak༔The vessel and its contents are Padmasattva’s༔ divine form of visible emptiness while sounds are mantra, audible emptiness,༔

Making offerings by radiating out light-rays is close approach. Gathering in the blessings is accomplishment. Purifying the vessel and contents is great accomplishment.)You will then come to experience supreme original wakefulness within this very life,༔ and the common siddhis will occur automatically.༔If you give up normal talking༔ and perform the recitations four hundred thousand times, and supplicate,༔You will receive signs and indications in actuality, in meditative experiences, or in dreams.༔ In your next life, you will be reborn༔In the Lotus-covered pure realm༔ and be included in the retinue༔Of bodhisattva Lotus Essence.༔ There, having swiftly traversed the inner bhūmis and paths,༔You will attain the state of supreme awakening.༔ Therefore, those with faith and good fortune༔Should endeavour in this constantly.༔ Samaya.༔

མ་ངས་འག་འདལ་རབ་འབམས་སལ་སའ་ཞང་༔ ར་རའ་གནས་ཡལ་དར་ཁད་ར་མཚ་ནས༔ma ngé drodul rabjam tulkü shying༔ dorjé neyul durtrö gyatso né༔From the all-encompassing nirmānakāya pure realms, where beings are tamed in infinite ways,༔ and from the ocean of vajra places, valleys, and charnel grounds,༔

མ་འགར་མ་ཤགས་ན་དའ་ས་བརན་ལན༔ གགས་སང་དབར་མད་སགས་ཀ་དམ་ཚག་འདས༔migyur mishik na dé dranyen len༔ drak tong yermé ngak kyi damtsik di༔accompanied by music from the changeless and indestructible nāda.༔ With this samaya substance, the mantra of indivisible sound and emptiness,༔

མགན་པ་ཁད་ལས་སབས་གཞན་མ་མཆས་པས༔ ཐགས་ར་ནས་པའ་རལ་ཤགས་སག་ཏ་གསལ༔gönpo khyö lé kyab shyen machipé༔ tukjé nüpé tsalshuk truk tu sol༔there is no other refuge than you, no other protector,༔ so bring forth the power of your compassion, in all its force!༔

མཁའ་འག་ཡངས་ཀ་མང་པ་དཔའ་བ་ཆས༔ ཕ་ནང་གསང་བའ་ལམ་ག་རན་འབལ་སགས༔khandro yong kyi mingpo pawo ché༔ chi nang sangwé lam gyi tendrel drik༔Greatest dāka, brother of all dākinīs,༔ provide the auspicious link for all outer, inner, and secret paths!༔


ར་རའ་ཆས་སང་ར་མཚ་ལས་ལ་སལ༔ བར་ཆད་ཀན་སལ་རམ་བཞའ་ཕན་ལས་སབས༔dorjé chösung gyatso lé la kul༔ barché kün sol nam shyi trinlé drub༔Compel the ocean of vajra dharma protectors to action!༔ Dispel all obstacles and fulfill the activities of the four kinds!༔

གནས་སབས་ནད་གདན་འཇགས་བརད་ཞ་བ་དང་༔ ཚ་བསད་དཔལ་འབར་ཉམས་རགས་ཡ་ཤས་སར༔nekab nedön jikgyé shyiwa dang༔ tsé sö paljor nyamtok yeshe por༔Presently, pacify illness, evil influences, and the eight types of fear.༔ Increase lifespan, merit, splendor, and wealth, experience, realization, and wisdom.༔

སངས་རས་བསན་སང་འག་ལ་ཕན་བད་སབས༔ བསན་འཛན་སས་བའ་ས་ཚ་མཛད་ཕན་དང་༔sangye tensung dro la pendé drub༔ tendzin kyebü kutsé dzetrin dang༔protect the Buddha's teachings and accomplish the benefit and welfare of beings!༔ Increase the lifespan and activities of the doctrine holders,༔

ཟབ་གཏར་བཤད་སབ་བསན་པ་ཕགས་བཅར་སལ༔ དག་འདན་ས་རམས་དབང་བཅའ་དཔལ་འབར་སད༔zabter shedrub tenpa chok chur pel༔ gendün dé nam wang chü paljor kyé༔and propagate the teaching and practice of the profound treasure teachings throughout the ten directions!༔ Generate the wealth of the ten masteries for all sangha members!༔


མ་མཐན་བར་ཆད་ཕགས་ཀན་དག་ལ་སར༔ དམ་ས་འབང་པའ་དཔང་ཚགས་ཟལ་གས་ནན༔mitün barché chok kün dra la gyur༔ damsi jungpö pungtsok zil gyi nön༔Counteract all adverse factors and obstacles in all directions!༔ Subjugate the hordes of samaya violators and jungpos!༔

དམ་ཉམས་དག་བགགས་སག་ར་དམར་པ་ཆད༔ རལ་འབར་བདག་ཅག་འདས་པར་བཅས་པ་ཡ༔damnyam dragek soktsa marpo chö༔ naljor dakchak düpar chepa yi༔Slice the life-vein of samaya breakers, enemies, and obstructers!༔ For all of us practitioners together with our following,༔

ཆ་ག་ལག་ཆད་འགལ་འཁལ་ཅ་མཆས་པ༔ བཟད་པར་གསལ་ལ་ཚངས་པར་སལ་ད་གསལ༔choga lhakché galtrul chichi pa༔ zöpar sol lo tsangpar tsal du sol༔for omitting and adding, all such faults and mistakes in the practice༔ I ask for your forgiveness; grant absolution and purity!༔


༄༅། །ཡ་ག་བར་བ་ལན་གསམ་བཟས༔ ལ་པ་མཐའ་གཉས་བསལ་བ་ན༔Repeat the Hundred Syllable mantra three times.༔E. To eliminate the two extremes:༔

ཨཿ རག་རལ་རལ་པ་རན་དང་བརན་པར་བཅས༔ ཆས་དབངས་རང་བཞན་ས་མད་ཀང་ད་ཐམ༔ah riktsal rolpa ten dang tenpar ché༔ chöying rangshyin kyemé long du tim༔ĀH The play of awareness-expression, the support and supported,༔ all dissolve into the dharmadhātu expanse of natural non-arising.༔

སར་ཡང་སང་ཆ་བ་མའ་ས་དང་ཞང་༔ ས་གགས་སགས་ལ་དན་རག་ཐགས་ས་ཤར༔ ༀ་ཨཿཧ༔lar yang nangcha lamé ku dang shying༔ dra drak ngak la dren tok tuk su shar༔ om ah hung༔Once again, the manifest aspect arises as the guru’s form and realm,༔ with sounds as mantra and thoughts as enlightened mind.༔ OM ĀH HŪM༔


དག་པ་བས་སན་རས་གདབ་བ༔F. To seal with dedication and aspirations:༔

ལངས་སའ་བཀ་ཤས་མགན་པ་པདའ་སན༔ འཁར་འདས་དབང་ད་འད་བའ་བཀ་ཤག་ཤག༔longkü tashi gönpo pemé chen༔ khordé wang du duwé tra shik shok༔May the auspiciousness of sambhogakāya, Protector Lotus Eyes,༔ bring the auspiciousness of magnetizing samsara and nirvana!༔


སལ་སའ་བཀ་ཤས་པད་དག་པ་རལ༔ མ་མཐན་བདད་དཔང་ཚར་གཅད་བཀ་ཤས་ཤག༔tulkü tashi pema drapo tsal༔ mitün düpung tsarchö tashi shok༔May the auspiciousness of nirmānakāya, Lotus Wrathful Might,༔ bring the auspiciousness of demolishing the opposing armies of mara!༔

དབར་མད་བཀ་ཤས་སམས་དཔའ་པདའ་གཙ༔ འག་འདལ་བསན་པ་མཐའ་རས་བཀ་ཤས་ཤག༔yermé tashi sempa pemé tso༔ drodul tenpa ta gyé tashi shok༔May the auspiciousness of their indivisibility, peerless Padmasattva,༔ bring the auspiciousness of expanding the teachings for taming beings!༔

The Four Cycles are the ultimate essence༔ of all types of Accomplishing the Guru's Heart Wisdom,༔And this alone is the profound sadhana,༔ the quintessential essence of them all.༔


With one-pointed faith and certainty,༔ if you practice this in the proper way,༔Outer, inner, and secret obstacles will subside,༔ and all your wishes will be spontaneously fulfilled.༔The original wakefulness of great bliss will effortlessly arise,༔ you will attain confidence in view and meditation, perfecting that great strength.༔You will receive the blessings of never being parted༔ from the guru who embodies the trikāya families.༔Therefore, treasure this quintessence of all profound treasures༔ as you would the very core of your heart.༔Without letting it dwindle, apply it in practice.༔ May you thereby perfect the twofold purpose of self and others!༔Samaya.༔ Seal, seal, seal.༔ Guhya.༔ Dathim.༔

༄༅། Pema Ösel Do-ngak Lingpa—the great universal monarch of all the vidyadhara treasure revealers and siddhas—had a pure vision on the fifteenth day of the eleventh month of the year of the Iron Horse. In this pure vision, he personally received the nectar-like transmission of this sadhana and its empowerments and instructions, in the Lotus-covered pure realm, from the bodhisattva Lotus Essence, indivisible from the great treasure revealer Chokgyur Lingpa. For one month he kept the samaya seal of secrecy. Then, on the tenth day of the twelfth month, it was established in writing, accompanied by a gathering offering—a task which I, Chimé Tennyi Yungdrung Lingpa Tsal [Jamgön Kongtrul Lodrö Tayé], a fortunate disciple of both great vidyādharas, undertook with deep respect. At this time, the entire ground outside suddenly warmed up, so that the ice and snow melted and flowed like a river, an auspicious sign which was visible to everyone. Also, the few connecting passages of this sadhana were written according to the Lord Guru’s command. Therefore, may this cause whoever connects with it to become inseparable from the three secrets of these two vidyādhara gurus, and may it cause the teachings to flourish, spread, and remain for a very long time! May virtue and excellence increase!

A Mending-Apology from the Profound Essence Embodying the Families of the Three Kāyas

ན་མ་ག་ར་པད་སཏ་ཡ།།NAMO GURU PADMASATTVĀYA

ཟབ་ལམ་སང་པའ་རལ་འབར་པས། །སབ་སང་ཉམས་ཆགས་བསང་འདད་ན།།ཁད་པར་ཅན་ག་དས་བཟང་པར། །གནས་རན་བན་རབས་ཅན་ག་དང༌།།ཕ་ནང་གསང་བའ་མཆད་རས་དང༌། །ཁད་པར་ཐབས་ཤས་ཚགས་འཁར་ལ།།ཇ་ལར་འབར་པ་འད་བས་ལ། །ཕན་ལས་ར་བའ་གཞང་བཞན་བཏང༌།།The practitioner of the essential profound path who wishes to purify obscurations and mend breachesShould, on special and auspicious days, in blessed places and in front of blessed supports,Gather outer, inner, and secret offering substances, and in particular a ganacakra of means and knowledge,Whatever can be acquired, and should then perform the practice according to the root text.


བན་རབས་ཏང་འཛན་གསལ་འདབས་ན།།To bring to mind the samadhi of consecration, say:

ༀ་ཨཿཧ། །ཕ་སད་རམ་དག་པདས་ཁབས་པའ་ཞང༌། །ཡ་ཤས་རང་སང་གཞལ་མད་ཁང་པའ་དབས།།om ah hung chinö namdak pemé khebpé shying yeshe rangnang shyalmé khangpé üOM ĀH HŪM The outer vessel is the pure Lotus-covered realm. Amidst the immeasurable palace, wisdom’s self-display,

འཇའ་ཟར་འད་ལའ་དངས་མ་ལས་བང་བ། །ར་རའ་མཆད་སན་ནམ་མཁའ་མཛད་ད་གར།།jazer ö ngé dangma lé jungwa dorjé chötrin namkha dzö du gyurfrom the pure essence of five-colored rainbow light there appear cloudbanks of vajra offerings, vast as the sky.

ༀ་བཛ་ས་ར་ཎ་ཁ།།om benza saparana kham

༄༅། །དད་མས་གདང་བའ་ཤགས་བསད་ལ། །སས་དད་རལ་མ་དབངས་སན་བཅས།Arouse deep-felt faith and devotion and, to the accompaniment of wafting incense, music, and melody, say:

ཧ་ཧཿ མཐའ་དབས་བལ་བ་ཆས་དབངས་འད་གསལ་ལས། །བད་ཆན་ཡ་ཤས་རག་པའ་རལ་ཤར་བ།།hung hrih ta ü dralwa chöying ösal lé dechen yeshe rigpé tsal sharwaHŪM HRĪH From the luminous dharmadhātu, devoid of center and edge, appears awareness-expression, the wisdom of great bliss.

དག་པའ་ཞང་ཁམས་པདས་ཁབས་པ་ནས། །སང་རའ་དབང་ཕག་པདའ་མ་ག་སགས།།dakpé shyingkham pemé khebpa né nyingjé wangchuk pemé nyugu sokFrom the Lotus-covered pure realm, Lotus Essence, lord of compassion, and all the others,

ས་གསམ་རགས་འདས་རལ་བའ་དཀལ་འཁར་པ། །ཕགས་བཅ་དས་བཞའ་དཀན་མཆག་ར་གསམ་བཅས།།ku sum rik dü gyalwé kyilkhor pa chok chu dü shyi könchok tsa sum chémandala deities of the victorious ones embodying the trikāya families, Three Jewels and Three Roots of the ten directions and four times,


རལ་འབར་དད་དང་མས་པའ་གདང་ཤགས་ཀས། །གསལ་འདབས་ཐགས་དམ་གཉན་པའ་རད་བསལ་ན།།naljor dé dang möpé dungshuk kyi soldeb tukdam nyenpö gyü kul naas I, the practitioner, with deep-felt longing of faith and devotion, supplicate you and invoke your minds, your powerful samayas,

གགས་ལར་མར་བའ་ཐགས་རས་འདར་གཤགས་ལ། །འག་འདལ་གར་ག་རལ་པས་བརན་པར་བཞགས།།lok tar nyurwé tukjé dir shek la drodul gar gyi rolpé tenpar shyukcome here, out of compassion as swift as lightning, and remain firmly in your playful dance so as to influence beings.

རལ་བ་སས་བཅས་ཐགས་དམ་སང་བའ་རས། །དངས་ས་འབར་དང་ཡད་སལ་མཆད་པའ་སན།།gyalwa sé ché tukdam kongwé dzé ngö su jor dang yitrul chöpé trinSubstances that mend the heart samaya with the victors and their heirs, cloudbanks of offerings, actually present and mentally created,


༄༅། །རབ་འབམས་ནམ་མཁའ་ཁན་ཀན་གང་བ་ཡས། །རགས་འདས་བ་མའ་ལ་ཚགས་ཐགས་དམ་བསང༌།།rabjam namkhé khyön kün gangwa yi rik dü lamé lhatsok tukdam kangfilling the entire vista of infinite space—may this mend the heart samaya with the deities of the guru, the embodiment of all families.

གང་བཞ་ར་རབ་ལ་མའ་འབར་བའ་ཕལ། །མཆད་ཡན་ཞབས་བསལ་མ་ཏག་བདག་སས་དང༌།།ling shyi rirab lhami jorwé pul chöyön shyabsil metok dukpö dangThe four continents, Mount Sumeru, choicest luxuries of gods and humans, water for drinking and rinsing, flowers and incense,

སང་གསལ་ད་ཆབ་ཞལ་ཟས་རལ་མའ་སས། །རགས་འདས་བ་མའ་ལ་ཚགས་ཐགས་དམ་བསང༌།།nangsal drichab shyalzé rolmö dré rik dü lamé lhatsok tukdam kanglamps and fragrant perfume, food and sounds of music—may this mend the heart samaya with the deities of the guru, the embodiment of all families.


འཕགས་པའ་ནར་ག་རང་བཞན་རལ་སད་བདན། །ཚགས་བརད་རམ་དག་བཀ་ཤས་རས་རགས་བརད།།pakpé nor gyi rangshyin gyalsi dün tsok gyé namdak tashi dzé tak gyéSeven royal possessions—the nature of sublime wealth, eight auspicious substances and signs—the purity of the eight collections,

དབང་ཡལ་རང་གལ་འདད་ཡན་རམ་པ་ལས། །རགས་འདས་བ་མའ་ལ་ཚགས་ཐགས་དམ་བསང༌།།wang yul rangdrol döyön nampa ngé rik dü lamé lhatsok tukdam kangfive types of sense pleasures—the self-liberated faculties and objects—may this mend the heart samaya with the deities of the guru, the embodiment of all families.

དག་ལ་རང་དག་དག་པའ་ཉར་སད་ལ། །དག་གསམ་རད་གཅད་སན་རཀ་བ་ལ་ཏ།།duk nga rang dak drakpö nyerchö nga dug sum tsé chö men rak balingtaFive wrathful offerings—the natural purity of the five poisons, amrita, rakta, and balingta, to obliterate the three poisons,


༄༅། །ར་རའ་དམ་ཚག་ཤ་ལ་བདད་ར་ལས། །རགས་འདས་བ་མའ་ལ་ཚགས་ཐགས་དམ་བསང༌།།dorjé damtsik sha nga dütsi ngé rik dü lamé lhatsok tukdam kangthe five meats and five amritas, for the indestructible samaya—may this mend the heart samaya with the deities of the guru, the embodiment of all families.

ཐབས་ཤས་ཟང་འཇག་དགའ་བཞའ་དབངས་ས་སར། །གཟང་འཛན་འཁལ་རག་རག་པའ་ཀང་ད་བསལ།།tabshé zungjuk ga shyi ying su jor zungdzin trul tok rigpé long du dralMeans and knowledge in union, within the basic space of the four joys, delivering confusion and dualistic clinging within the expanse of awareness,

སང་སད་ཚགས་ཀ་འཁར་ལར་བན་བརབས་པས། །རགས་འདས་བ་མའ་ལ་ཚགས་ཐགས་དམ་བསང༌།།nangsi tsok kyi khorlor jinlab pé rik dü lamé lhatsok tukdam kangconsecrating all that appears and exists as the circle of the feast gathering—may this mend the heart samaya with the deities of the guru, the embodiment of all families.


རལ་མད་བང་ཆབ་སམས་གཉས་རག་ཏ་བསད། །བཅས་མན་མས་གས་དག་པའ་གདང་ཤགས་སར།།tsolmé changchub sem nyi taktu kyé chömin mögü drakpö dungshuk barForever arousing the twofold bodhicitta beyond effort, setting ablaze the intense yearning of devotion beyond artifice,

དག་སང་ཡ་ཤས་འཁར་ལར་འབམས་ཀས་པས། །རགས་འདས་བ་མའ་ལ་ཚགས་ཐགས་དམ་བསང༌།།daknang yeshe khorlor jamlepé rik dü lamé lhatsok tukdam kangmerging with the wisdom wheel of pure perception beyond boundary—may this mend the heart samaya with the deities of the guru, the embodiment of all families.

ཀ་དག་ལ་བ་སན་བལ་རམ་མཁའ་ལ། །ལན་གབ་སམ་པ་འད་གསལ་ཉ་ཟས་བརན།།kadak tawa trindral nam kha la lhündrub gompa ösal nyidé gyenThe cloudless sky, the view of primordial purity, adorned with the brilliant sun and moon, the meditation of spontaneous presence,


༄༅། །ཤགས་འབང་ཐགས་མད་སད་པའ་བརལ་ཞགས་ཀས། །རགས་འདས་བ་མའ་ལ་ཚགས་ཐགས་དམ་བསང༌།།shuk jung tokmé chöpé tulshyuk kyi rik dü lamé lhatsok tukdam kangspontaneous and unimpeded, the courageous yogic conduct—may this mend the heart samaya with the deities of the guru, the embodiment of all families.

བདག་གཞན་དས་གསམ་བསགས་པའ་དག་ར་དང༌། །ས་གསམ་ལངས་སད་ཅ་མཆས་བས་བངས་ཏ།།dakshyen dü sum sakpé getsa dang go sum longchö chichi lö lang téAll virtuous roots that we have accumulated throughout the three times, added to every possible enjoyment of the three doors,

ཀན་བཟང་མཆད་སན་ར་མཚར་སལ་བ་ཡས། །ང་བ་ཆས་ས་པད་ཀན་ཏ་འཆང༌།།künzang chötrin gyatsor pelwa yi ngowo chöku pema küntu changaugmented into an ocean-like cloudbank of Samantabhadra offerings—may this mend the heart samaya with the essence dharmakāya, Universal Lotus Holder,


རལ་བ་དགངས་བརད་བ་མའ་ཐགས་དམ་བསང༌། །རང་བཞན་ལངས་ས་མགན་པ་པདའ་སན།།gyalwa gonggyü lamé tukdam kang rangshyin longku gönpo pemé chenand with the gurus of the wisdom lineage of the victorious ones. May this mend the heart samaya with the nature sambhogakāya, Protector Lotus Eyes,

རག་འཛན་བར་བརད་བ་མའ་ཐགས་དམ་བསང༌། །ཐགས་ར་སལ་ས་པད་ཐད་ཕང་རལ།།rigdzin dagyü lamé tukdam kang tukjé tulku pema tötreng tsaland with the gurus of the symbolic lineage of vidyādharas. May this mend the heart samaya with the capacity nirmānakāya, Pema Tötreng Tsal,

གང་ཟག་སན་བརད་བ་མའ་ཐགས་དམ་བསང༌། །ཀན་འདས་སམས་དཔའ་པདའ་མ་ག་མཆག།gangzak nyengyü lamé tukdam kang kündü sempa pemé nyugu chokand with the gurus of the oral lineage of great beings. May this mend the heart samaya with the embodiment of them all, the supreme bodhisattva Lotus Essence,


༄༅། །ལས་འཕ་གཏར་བརད་བ་མའ་ཐགས་དམ་བསང༌། །དས་གསམ་ར་བརད་རག་འཛན་བ་མ་དང༌།།letro tergyü lamé tukdam kang dü sum tsa gyü rigdzin lama dangand with the gurus of the treasure lineage of karmic connection. May this mend the heart samaya with the root and lineage vidyādhara gurus throughout the three times,

ཕགས་བཅའ་རལ་བ་སས་བཅས་ཐགས་དམ་བསང༌། །ཐག་པ་རམ་དགའ་དཀལ་འཁར་ལ་ཚགས་དང༌།།chok chü gyalwa sé ché tukdam kang tekpa rim gü kyilkhor lhatsok dangand with the victorious ones and their heirs in the ten directions. May this mend the heart samaya with the mandala deities of the nine gradual vehicles,

གནས་ཡལ་དཔའ་བ་དཔའ་མའ་ཐགས་དམ་བསང༌། །རད་གསམ་དམ་ཅན་བཀའ་ཉན་ལས་བད་དང༌།neyul pawo pamö tukdam kang gyü sum damchen kanyen lejé dangand with the dākas and dākinīs of the sacred places and lands. May this mend the heart samaya with the vow-holders, the obedient fulfillers of activity of all three classes,


གནས་བདག་གཏར་སང་འཁར་བཅས་ཐགས་དམ་བསང༌། །རགས་འདས་ས་གསམ་བ་མའ་ལ་ཚགས་ཀ།།né dak tersung khor ché tukdam kang rik dü ku sum lamé lhatsok kyiand with the lords of the sacred sites, the treasure protectors, and all their retinues. May the heart samaya with the deities of the gurus embodying the trikāya families

ཐགས་དམ་བད་ཆན་ཆས་དབངས་ཀང་ད་བསང༌། ཉམས་ཆགས་འགའ་འཁལ་བང་ཞང་སར་ཆད་ད།།tukdam dechen chöying long du kang nyamchak ga trul jang shying sorchü débe mended within dharmadhātu's expanse of great bliss. Having purified and restored violations and breaches, transgressions and mistakes,

ཐན་མང་མཆག་ག་དངས་གབ་སལ་ད་གསལ།།tünmong chok gi ngödrub tsal du solplease bestow the supreme and common siddhis!


༄༅། །ཧཿ ར་གསམ་ཀན་འདས་བ་མའ་ལ་ཚགས་རམས། །དམགས་མད་ཐགས་རས་བདག་ལ་དགངས་ས་གསལ།།ho tsa sum kündü lamé lhatsok nam mikmé tukjé dak la gong su solHOH Assembly of guru deities, embodying all the Three Roots, with reference-free compassion please pay heed to me.

བདག་སགས་ཐག་མད་དས་ནས་ད་ལའ་བར། །མ་རག་དབང་གར་གཟང་འཛན་འཁལ་པ་ཡས།།dak sok tokmé dü né danté bar marik wang gyur zungdzin trulpa yiI and every other, from beginningless time ‘til now, through dualistic confusion, overpowered by unknowing,

ལས་ངག་ཡད་ཀས་སག་སབ་དཔག་མད་བསགས། །ས་དང་ཁད་པར་ལག་པའ་དམ་ལས་འགལ།།lü ngak yi kyi dikdrib pakmé sak chi dang khyepar lhakpé dam lé galhave accumulated boundless misdeeds and obscurations with body, speech, and mind. We have transgressed the general, particular, and special samayas.


ཁད་པར་དཔལ་ལན་བ་མའ་གསང་གསམ་ལ། །མ་གས་ལག་ལ་བག་མད་གཞན་དབང་གས།།khyepar palden lamé sang sum la ma gü lokta bakmé shyenwang giIn particular, towards the three secrets of the glorious guru, whatever mistakes we have made whilst overcome by disrespect, wrong views, and carelessness,

ནངས་པ་གང་བགས་སང་ནས་འགད་བཤགས་ན། །རང་གལ་ཡ་ཤས་ཀང་ད་བཟད་བཞས་ལ།།nongpa gang gyi nying né gyö shak na rangdrol yeshe long du zö shyé lawe apologize for them with sincere remorse. Please absolve them all within the wisdom expanse of self-liberation.

བག་ཆགས་འཁལ་སང་ཀ་དག་ཀང་ད་གལ། །སད་པའ་ས་བན་གདད་མའ་གཞ་ལ་ཟད།།bakchak trulnang kadak long du drol sipé sabön dömé shyi la zéPlease dissolve habitual confused perception within the expanse of primordial purity. Exhaust the seeds of samsaric existence within the primordial ground.


༄༅། །འཁར་འདས་གཉས་མད་དག་པ་རབ་འབམས་དང༌། །ཚངས་པ་མཆག་ག་དངས་གབ་སལ་ནས་ཀང༌།།khordé nyimé dakpa rabjam dang tsangpa chok gi ngödrub tsal né kyangHaving bestowed upon me the supreme siddhi of perfection, the all-encompassing purity that samsara and nirvana are non-dual,

ཚ་རབས་ཀན་ཏ་མ་འབལ་རས་བཟང་ས། །ས་དང་ཞང་ཁམས་ཡན་ཏན་ཕན་ལས་རགས།།tserab küntu mindral jezung té ku dang shyingkham yönten trinlé dzokaccept me without separation, throughout my succession of lives; with perfect form, with buddhafield, with qualities and activities,

ར་བཙན་ཁད་དང་མཚངས་པར་མཛད་ད་གསལ།།jetsün khyé dang tsungpar dzé du solprecious master, make me equal to you!


ཅས་དང་ཡ་ག་བར་པ་བརད། །ཚལ་འད་ཁབ་བདག་ཐམས་ཅད་མཁན། །ཆས་ཀ་བདག་པའ་བཀས་གནང་ཞང༌། །གནས་མད་གཅད་བ་སལ་པའ་ས། །དཔལ་ཁམ་སགས་འཆང་ཨ་རན་སགས། །དན་གཉར་རམས་ཀ་བཞད་སང་སད། །རག་འཛན་ཟང་ག་བན་ཐབ་པ། །དག་སང་བ་གས་མཐའ་ཡས་ཀས། །ཙ་འད་ཡ་ཤས་འཁར་ལ་ར། །བགས་འདས་དན་གཉས་ལན་གབ་ཤག །དག་ལགས་འཕལ།། །།Recite the Hundred Syllable mantra.This presentation was made in accordance with the commandOf the dharma holder, the omniscient sovereign,And to fulfill the wish of every pursuer,Including the Chöla Tulku of NedoAnd the lay tantrika Orgyen,By the mendicant Lodrö Tayé,Who has received the blessings of both vidyādharas,At the wisdom wheel of Tsadra.May this spontaneously fulfill the twofold purpose!May virtue and excellence increase!.

An Aspiration for Taking Rebirth in the Realm of Utmost Purity

ཆས་དབངས་ཀན་ཁབ་རལ་བ་སས་བཅས་དང༌། །ཁད་པར་མ་མཇད་འཇག་རན་ནབ་ཀ་ཕགས།།chöying künkhyab gyalwa sé ché dang khyepar mijé jikten nub kyi chokTo the victorious ones and all your heirs, pervading the whole of dharmadhātu, to Lotus Essence in particular, the sovereign of all bodhisattvas,


པདས་ཁབས་པའ་ཞང་ན་རབ་བཞགས་པ། །སམས་དཔའ་ཀན་གཙ་པདའ་མ་ག་ན།།pemé khebpé shying na rab shyukpa sempa kün tso pemé nyugu nihe who dwells to the west of this Saha World in the Lotus-covered Realm,

རལ་སས་ར་མཚའ་ཚགས་དང་བཅས་པ་ལ། །གས་པས་ཕག་འཚལ་སང་ནས་སབས་ས་མཆ།།gyalsé gyatsö tsok dang chepa la güpé chaktsal nying né kyab su chiaccompanied by an ocean-like assembly of the victors' heirs, I bow with respect, sincerely taking refuge within my heart.

ས་གསམ་ལངས་སད་དག་རར་བཅས་པས་མཆད། །སག་སབ་ཉས་ལང་གང་མཆས་མཐལ་ཞང་བཤགས།།go sum longchö getsar chepé chö dikdrib nyetung gang chi tol shying shakI offer you my three doors, my riches and roots of virtue, and I admit and confess all my misdeeds, faults, and failings.


༄༅། །སད་ཞའ་དག་ལགས་ཀན་ལ་རས་ཡ་རང༌། །བ་མད་ཆས་ཀ་འཁར་ལ་བསར་བར་བསལ།།si shyi gelek kün la jé yi rang lamé chö kyi khorlo korwar kulI rejoice in all the virtuous goodness of existence and of peace, and I request that you turn the wheel of the unexcelled dharma.

བསལ་བརར་མ་ངན་མ་འདའ་བཞགས་གསལ་འདབས། །དག་ར་མ་གནས་བང་ཆབ་ཆན་པར་བས།།kal gyar nya ngen mi da shyuk soldeb getsa mi né changchub chenpor ngoI beseech you to remain for one hundred eons without passing into nirvana, and dedicate my roots of virtue to great unabiding awakening.

སངས་རས་སས་བཅས་བསད་ནམས་མཐ་དཔལ་དང༌། །དས་གསམ་བསགས་པའ་ལགས་སད་གང་མཆས་དང༌།།sangye sé ché sönam tu pal dang dü sum sakpé lek ché gang chi dangBy the merit, power, and splendor of the buddhas and their children, by every single deed of goodness in the three times,


སང་ཉད་རན་འབང་བས་མད་བདན་པ་ཡས། །བདག་གཞན་འབལ་ཐག་འག་བ་མ་ལས་པ།།tongnyi tenjung lumé denpa yi dak shyen drel tok drowa malüpaand by the unfailing truth of emptiness and dependent origination, may I and all other beings with whom I have made a connection,

ནམ་ཞག་འཆ་བའ་དས་བད་གར་པའ་ཚ། །འཁར་བ་ངན་སང་ས་གནས་ཀན་སངས་ཏ།།nam shyik chiwé dü jé gyurpé tsé khorwa ngensong kyené künpang téwhen the time of death has come, leave behind all further rebirths in the evil of samsara,

དག་པའ་ཞང་མཆག་པདས་ཁབས་པ་ར། །སད་ཅག་ཙམ་གས་བརས་ཏ་ས་བར་ཤག།dakpé shying chok pemé khebpa ru kechik tsam gyi dzü té kyewar shokand miraculously take birth, within a single instant, in the eminent Lotus-covered Pureland.


༄༅། །རན་ཆན་བང་ཆབ་སམས་ཀ་ས་བན་ན། །རལ་བའ་སས་ཀས་ཡངས་སངས་ལས་སན་པ།།rinchen changchub sem kyi sabön ni gyalwé sé kyi yong jang lé minpaPrecious bodhicitta is its seed, the purification of the victors’ heirs its maturation;

སགས་མ་ལ་ཡ་མང་ཡང་མ་གགས་ཤང༌། །ང་མཚར་ཡན་ཏན་བ་བས་རབ་བརན་པ།།nyikma nga yi ming yang mi drak shing ngotsar yönten jewé rab gyenpathere, even the names of the five degenerations are unknown, and everything is adorned with wondrous qualities—

པདས་ཁབས་པའ་ཞང་ད་ས་བར་ཤག །ཐ་ག་ཡངས་ཤང་ར་ཚད་དཔག་ཏ་མད།།pemé khebpé shying du kyewar shok tadru yang shing gya tsé pak tumémay we take birth in the Lotus-covered Realm! Expansive in size, its dimensions are boundless.


ལག་མཐལ་ལར་མཉམ་གསར་ག་ས་གཞ་ལ། །རན་ཐང་མད་པའ་རན་ཆན་གཅལ་ད་བཀམ།།laktil tar nyam ser gyi sa shyi la rintang mepé rinchen chal du tramIts golden earth smooth as the palm of the hand, and strewn all around with priceless gems—

ལ་འདབ་སབ་འཇམ་ཡངས་པའ་དར་ཟབ་གས། །འབས་བ་ལ་ཡ་བཅད་དང་རན་ཆན་སན།།lodab sab jam yangpé darzab gö drebu lha yi chü dang rinchen minwith soft leaves supple and lush like velvet, and fruits of nectar and divine precious gems—

པདས་ཁབས་པའ་ཞང་ད་ས་བར་ཤག །ཡན་ལག་བརད་ལན་ཆ་ཀང་ས་ཚགས་འབབས།།pemé khebpé shying du kyewar shok yenlak gyeden chulung natsok babmay we take birth in the Lotus-covered Realm! There, streams of water flow with all eight qualities,


༄༅། །ད་ཞམ་སས་ཆའ་རང་བས་ཀན་ནས་གཏམས། །གསར་ག་བ་མ་རན་ཆན་ཕ་གས་བསར།།dri shyim pö chü dzingbü künné tam ser gyi jema rinchen pa gü korand fragrant pools are perfumed, with sand that is golden and fringes all set with jewels—

པདས་ཁབས་པའ་ཞང་ད་ས་བར་ཤག །ར་བ་ཁང་ཁང་ན་ཙ་ངང་ངར་སགས།།pemé khebpé shying du kyewar shok maja trung trung né tso ngang ngur sokmay we take birth in the Lotus-covered Realm! There are peacocks and cranes, parakeets and swans,

སལ་པའ་འདབ་ཆགས་ལ་བས་ཆག་མ་ཤས། །ཀན་ཀང་སངས་རས་མཐ་ཡས་ཆས་ས་སག།trulpé dab chak tawé chok mi shé kün kyang sangye tu yi chö dra drokand many other fascinating birds quite miraculous, all, through the Buddha’s power, singing dharma songs—

པདས་ཁབས་པའ་ཞང་ད་ས་བར་ཤག །ཡད་འང་མ་ཏག་ཕང་བས་ཀན་ཏ་ཁབས།།pemé khebpé shying du kyewar shok yi ong metok trengwé küntu khebmay we take birth in the Lotus-covered Realm! Flower garlands unfurling their loveliness everywhere,


པདའ་སད་ཚལ་འདད་ར་ཡད་བཞན་འཇ། །བསལ་བད་ངད་པ་རག་ན་བད་བར་ར།།pemö kyetsal dögu yishyin jo sil jé ngepa rek na dewar gyulotus groves yielding all conceivable wishes, and cool breezes pleasant to the touch—

པདས་ཁབས་པའ་ཞང་ད་ས་བར་ཤག །ངན་འགའ་ས་གནས་བལ་ཞང་ལ་དང་མ།།pemé khebpé shying du kyewar shok ngendrö kyené dral shying lha dang mimay we take birth in the Lotus-covered Realm! Free from lower rebirth, with only the exalted fortune

མཐ་རས་ཡན་ཏན་འཕགས་པའ་ནར་བདན་གས། །འབར་པ་རབ་རས་བད་ཞང་ལ་ལགས་པ།།tori yönten pakpé nor dün gyi jorpa rabgyé dé shying lo lekpaof the realms of gods and humans, the seven noble riches, the happiness this brings, and the endless years of bounty—


༄༅། །པདས་ཁབས་པའ་ཞང་ད་ས་བར་ཤག །དངས་མ་བསམ་གཏན་ཟས་ཀས་བད་བར་འཚ།།pemé khebpé shying du kyewar shok dangma samten zé kyi dewar tsomay we take birth in the Lotus-covered Realm! Blissfully nourished by the pure food of meditation,

ཚ་རབས་དན་ཅང་བ་གས་གཟངས་སབས་ལན། །དར་སས་ཕར་མ་ལག་པའ་ས་ལ་གནས།།tserab dren ching lodrö zung pobden der kyé chir midokpé sa la néremembering past lives, possessing wisdom, recall, and eloquence; rebirth there is reaching the level of non-returner—

པདས་ཁབས་པའ་ཞང་ད་ས་བར་ཤག །རན་གས་ཡ་བད་རལ་མའ་ཁད་པར་སགས།།pemé khebpé shying du kyewar shok gyen gö yojé rolmö khyepar sokmay we take birth in the Lotus-covered Realm! Various ornaments, garments, supplies, and musical instruments—


འདད་པའ་ཡན་ཏན་བསམས་པ་ཙམ་གས་འགབ། །ཏང་འཛན་བད་ལན་སག་བསལ་ཟག་ར་མད།།döpé yönten sampa tsam gyi drub tingdzin deden dukngal zuk ngu méall these and other pleasure objects, ours by merely thinking of them; samadhi’s bliss enjoying, and free from pain and suffering—

པདས་ཁབས་པའ་ཞང་ད་ས་བར་ཤག །ལ་ཡ་མ་ཏག་སས་ཆའ་ཆར་རན་འབབས།།pemé khebpé shying du kyewar shok lha yi metok pö chü char gyün bebmay we take birth in the Lotus-covered Realm! Amid showers of flowers divine and fragrant water,

སལ་པའ་ལ་མས་མཆད་ཅང་བསད་དབངས་སག །ཉན་དང་མཚན་མད་རལ་བའ་འད་ཀས་ཁབ།།trulpé lha mö chö ching tö yang drok nyin dang tsenmé gyalwé ö kyi khyabmagical goddesses offer praise in voices melodious, and day and night the conquerors’ light pervades—


༄༅། །པདས་ཁབས་པའ་ཞང་ད་ས་བར་ཤག །བར་དར་སངས་རས་སལ་པས་མདན་བས་ཞང༌།།pemé khebpé shying du kyewar shok bardor sangye trulpé dün su shyingmay we take birth in the Lotus-covered Realm! May we be welcomed in the bardo by the emissaries of the buddhas, and

སབ་པའ་ད་བ་མ་ལས་ཕར་བསལ་ཏ། །སད་ཅག་ལག་པ་བརང་བསམ་ཙམ་ཉད་ལ།།dribpé drawa malü chir sal té kechik lakpa kyangkum tsam nyi lawaving aside, in an instant, all our webs of obscuration,

དག་པའ་ཞང་ཁམས་མཆག་ཏ་ས་བར་ཤག །ཞང་དབས་རན་ཆན་ལས་གབ་གཞལ་ཡས་ཁང༌།།dakpé shying kham chok tu kyewar shok shying ü rinchen lé drub shyalyé khangmay we take birth in this supreme pure realm! The palace at its center is built of precious gems,


བང་སམས་སན་ལམ་སབས་ལས་རམ་འཕལ་པ། །བཀད་པའ་ཁད་པར་བ་ལས་འདས་པའ་ནང༌།།changsem mönlam tob lé namtrul pa köpé khyepar lo lé depé nangmagically conjured by the power of bodhisattvas’ aspirations, with extraordinary arrangements surpassing every thought.

རལ་སས་ར་མཚས་མདན་གས་བལས་པའ་དབས། །གཏར་ཆན་ཆས་ཀ་རལ་པ་མཆག་གར་གང༌།།gyalsé gyatsö dün gyi tepé ü terchen chö kyi gyalpo chokgyur lingWithin it, surrounded by oceans of bodhisattvas, is the king of dharma, great tertön Chokgyur Lingpa,

མངན་བང་དབངས་ལས་གཟགས་ཀ་སར་བཞངས་པ། །སམས་དཔའ་ཆན་པ་པདའ་མ་ག་ན།།ngönjang ying lé zuk kyi kur shyengpa sempa chenpo pemé nyugu nia rūpakāya arisen from the space of full awakening, none other than the great bodhisattva Lotus Essence.


༄༅། །དམར་གསལ་ཉན་བད་སང་ག་གཟ་འབར་བ། །ཕག་གཡས་མཆག་སན་འདད་འབང་ནར་བས་མཚན།།mar sal nyinjé tong gi zibar ba chak yé chok jin dö jung norbü tsenBrilliant red in color, glowing like a thousand suns, his right hand held in the boon-granting gesture, he holds a wish-fulfilling jewel.

གཡན་པས་སབས་སན་ཨཏལ་ཚ་བམ་བསམས། །དར་དང་རན་ཆན་རན་སས་མཚན་དཔ་རགས།།yönpé kyab jin utpal tsebum nam dar dang rinchen gyen tré tsenpé dzokIn his left, he holds, in the refuge-granting gesture, a blue-colored lotus with a vase of longevity; silks and jewels adorn him, and the major and minor marks are complete.

ཕད་སལ་པད་ཉ་ཟའ་གདན་ལ་བཞགས། །ཐགས་རའ་འད་ཟར་ཕགས་བཅའ་ཞང་ད་འཕ།།chekyil pema nyidé den la shyuk tukjé özer chok chü shying du troSeated in half-vajra, on a throne of lotus, sun, and moon, he radiates compassion to all realms of the ten directions.


ད་མད་སན་རས་གདལ་བར་རག་ཏ་གཟགས། །ཐག་ཆན་ཕར་མ་ལག་པའ་ཆས་ས་སན།།drimé chen ré duljar taktu zik tekchen chir midokpé chögo tönHis flawless eyes gaze constantly on the beings to be tamed, guiding them through the doorway of the irreversible Mahāyāna,

འབལ་ཚད་བང་ཆབ་སང་པར་དབགས་འབན་པ། །རལ་སས་མཆག་དའ་ཞལ་རས་མངན་སམ་ད།།dreltsé changchub nyingpor uk jinpa gyalsé chok dé shyalré ngön sum duestablishing any who connect with him in the state of supreme awakening. Upon seeing the face of this eminent bodhisattva,

མཐང་ནས་ཞ་བསལ་བདད་རའ་ར་མཆག་མང༌། །རག་ཏ་དམ་པའ་ཆས་ཀ་མཛད་འཛན་ཅང༌།།tong né shyi sil dütsi ro chok nyang taktu dampé chö kyi dzö dzin chingone savors the cooling taste of the most supreme of nectars. Constantly maintaining the treasury of sacred dharma,


༄༅། །བང་ཆབ་ཆན་པར་ལང་བསན་ཐབ་པ་དང༌། །བཟང་པ་སད་པ་ར་མཚ་མཐར་ཕན་ནས།།changchub chenpor lungten tobpa dang zangpo chöpa gyatso tarchin némay we receive for ourselves the prophecy of great awakening, may we bring to perfection an ocean of noble deeds,

རལ་བ་ཀན་བསགས་ཞང་མཆག་དམ་པ་ར། །ཚ་དང་ཡ་ཤས་གཟ་བརད་དཔག་མད་ཅང༌།།gyalwa kün ngak shying chok dampa ru tsé dang yeshe ziji pakmé chingand, within this realm sublime, praised by all the buddhas, midst all the boundless splendor of life and wisdom,

རམ་ཀན་མཁན་པའ་སངས་རས་ཉད་གར་ཅག །སངས་རས་ས་གསམ་བརས་པའ་བན་རབས་དང༌།།namkün khyenpé sangye nyi gyur chik sangye ku sum nyepé jinlab dangmay we awaken to the buddhahood of omniscient wisdom! By the blessings of the buddhas who have attained the three kāyas,


ཆས་ཉད་མ་འགར་བདན་པའ་བན་རབས་དང༌། །དག་འདན་མ་ཕད་འདན་པའ་བན་རབས་ཀས།།chönyi mingyur denpé jinlab dang gendün miché dünpé jinlab kyiny the blessings of the unchanging truth of dharmatā, and by the blessings of the unshakable will of the sangha,

ཇ་ལར་བསས་ཤང་སན་པ་འགབ་པར་ཤག།jitar ngö shing mönpa drubpar shokmay our every wish and dedication be fulfilled.

ཞང་ག་སན་ལམ་འདའང་ཟབ་གསང་ག་མངའ་བདག་ཀན་མཁན་བ་མའ་ཟབ་ཆས་ཐགས་གཏར་འབབས་པའ་ཡག་བས་ཀ་ཞབས་འདགས་ཞས་སབས་བགད་དགས་པའ་བཀའ་སལ་ས་བར་ཕབས་པ་དང༌། གནས་མད་གཅད་བ་སལ་ས་དང་དཔལ་ཁམ་སགས་འཆང་ཨ་རན་བསན་འཛན་སགས་ས་ཕར་དན་གཉར་མང་པའ་བཞད་སང་སད་པད་གར་དབང་བ་གས་མཐའ་ཡས་པའ་སས་དབན་པའ་ར་ངགས་ས་བས་པ་ཡ་ཐ་སདར་བ་ཏ། དག་ལགས་འཕལ།། །།I have had the honor of serving the Omniscient Guru [Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo], sovereign of profound secrets, as a scribe. On this particular occasion, as I was committing to writing the profound teachings revealed from his wisdom mind, he said I should compose an aspiration for the Lotus-covered Realm. Thus, honoring his command as well as the oft-repeated requests of the Chö Lama and Tulku of Nedo, the tantrika Orgyen Tenzin, and others, this aspiration to be reborn in the pureland was written by Pema Garwang Lodrö Tayé [Jamgön Kongtrul] in a remote mountain retreat. ན་མ་ག་ར་བད་བ་ད་ས་ཏ་ཡ།།namo guru buddha bodhisattvaya



ཆས་དབངས་ཀན་ཁབ་རལ་བ་སས་བཅས་དང༌། །ཁད་པར་མ་མཇད་འཇག་རན་ནབ་ཀ་ཕགས།།chöying künkhyab gyalwa sé ché dang khyepar mijé jikten nub kyi chokTo the victorious ones and all your heirs, pervading the whole of dharmadhātu, to Lotus Essence in particular, the sovereign of all bodhisattvas,

པདས་ཁབས་པའ་ཞང་ན་རབ་བཞགས་པ། །སམས་དཔའ་ཀན་གཙ་པདའ་མ་ག་ན།།pemé khebpé shying na rab shyukpa sempa kün tso pemé nyugu nihe who dwells to the west of this Saha World in the Lotus-covered Realm,


གཏར་ཆན་ཆས་ཀ་རལ་པ་མཆག་གར་གང༌། །མངན་བང་དབངས་ལས་གཟགས་ཀ་སར་བཞངས་པ།།terchen chö kyi gyalpo chokgyur ling ngönjang ying lé zuk kyi kur shyengpathe king of dharma, great tertön Chokgyur Lingpa, a rūpakāya arisen from the space of full awakening,

ཐགས་རའ་འད་ཟར་ཕགས་བཅའ་ཞང་ད་འཕ། །ད་མད་སན་རས་གདལ་བར་རག་ཏ་གཟགས།།tukjé özer chok chü shying du tro drimé chen ré duljar taktu zikyou radiate compassion to all realms of the ten directions, your flawless eyes gaze constantly on the beings to be tamed,

འབལ་ཚད་བང་ཆབ་སང་པར་དབགས་འབན་པ། །དག་པའ་ཞང་མཆག་པདས་ཁབས་པ་ར།།dreltsé changchub nyingpor uk jinpa dakpé shying chok pemé khebpa ruestablishing any who connect with you in the state of supreme awakening. May I miraculously take birth, within a single instant,


༄༅། །སད་ཅག་ཙམ་གས་བརས་ཏ་ས་བར་ཤག།kechik tsam gyi dzü té kyewar shokin your eminent Lotus-covered Pureland!

Through this, may the wisdom visions of the glorious gurus be fulfilled and may the teachings of Khyentse, Kongtrul, and Chokling flourish! Sarva mangalam. Virtue! Virtue!
