PTA 57th Annual General Meeting 29th September 2008 Over 580 parents and teachers congregated in the Senior Hall to attend our PTA’s 57th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the evening of 29th September 2008. Prior to the start to the AGM, the parents and teachers were treated to a special performance of the DGJS Llangollen Choir, made up of 60 girls selected from last year’s Primaries 4 and 5. The choir competed in Wales’ famous Llangollen International Musical Eidsteddfod category. The entire trip to Wales was supervised and organized by Mrs. Chiang and Mrs Nam, our DGJS music teachers, as well as 20 parent helpers, and is a wonderful example of the homeschool cooperation that enhances the lives of our students. The AGM was presided by Mrs. Sheilah Chatjaval, our PTA Chairman, Mrs. Doris Ho, our School Supervisor, Mrs. Stella Lau, our Senior School Headmistress, and Mrs. Emily Dai, our Junior School Headmistress. After the Chairman’s opening remarks, the minutes of last year’s AGM were duly approved. The Chairman then presented her report for the year 20072008 and Mrs. Margaret Chen, our PTA’s Honorary Treasurer, an election of Executive Committee members for the year 20082009, and addresses from Mrs. Lau and Mrs. Dai. After the AGM, parents and teachers were introduced to Mrs. Lily Leung, our new Development manager who gave an update on the status of our building redevelopment plans and Mr. Joel Chan from the P&T Group, the architect in charge of the redevelopment, who presented on the latest building designs and conceptual plans. The parents and teachers were then invited to take refreshments in the covered playground next to the Senior School Hall where a display of the latest building conceptual plans, as well as a display of the Senior School’s service projects and activities, was set up. The evening concluded with small parent teacher sessions where all parents present were invited to meet their daughters’ class teachers for a discussion of their general progress. »››¿„» ”fi–‡ ‹‚» PTA Performance by the DGJS choir Presentation by Mr. Joel Chan of P&T Architects Speech by Mrs. Sheilah Chatjaval
