FIRE PROTECTION SCOPE SPECIFICATIONS
1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL EXISTING FIELDCONDITIONS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REVIEW EXISTING FIELDCONDITIONS PRIOR TO BID AND SHALL TAKE INTO ACCOUNT IN BIDPROPOSAL. NO ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION WILL BE ALLOWED DUE TOCONTRACTORS FAILURE TO INCLUDE ALL NECESSARY WORK IN THE BIDPROPOSAL.
2. FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL WORK WITHTHE WORK OF OTHER TRADES. RESOLVE ALL CONFLICTS AT NOADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER OR ARCHITECT.
3. ALL CUTTING AND PATCHING OF EXISTING STRUCTURE TOACCOMMODATE NEW FIRE PROTECTION WORK IS BY FIRE PROTECTIONCONTRACTOR.
4. CONNECT NEW SPRINKLER HEADS EXISTING PIPING. VERIFY EXACTLOCATION OF EXISTING PIPING IN FIELD PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.
FIRE PROTECTION SCOPE
1. CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT SITE AND DETERMINE BY INSPECTION THEEXACT SIZES AND LOCATIONS OF EXISTING EQUIPMENT, DUCTWORK,PIPING, CONDUIT, ETC. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ACTUALEXISTING CONDITIONS WITH THE PROPOSED NEW WORKREQUIREMENTS AND DETERMINE ANY ADDITIONAL REQUIREDDEMOLITION.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL REPORT TO THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER ANYDEVIATIONS OF ACTUAL FIELD CONDITIONS WITH RESPECT TO THEPLANS PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. CONTRACTOR SHALL BERESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING ANY ITEMS OR MATERIAL REMOVED,WHICH MAY BE NEEDED AS PART OF THE FUTURE NEW WORK.
3. WHERE NECESSARY TO DISRUPT MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL,PLUMBING, OR FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES OF ANY KIND IN THECOURSE OF THE WORK, THE OWNER AND LANDLORD SHALL BECONSULTED AS TO THE APPROPRIATE SHUT-DOWN PERIOD, ANDMAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE DOWNTIME ON ANY SERVICE OR SYSTEM, ASMAY BE NECESSARY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO EXISTING EQUIPMENTOR REDUCE OR ELIMINATE DISRUPTIONS. THE APPROPRIATECONTRACTOR SHALL ARRANGE THEIR WORK TO COINCIDE WITH THEALLOWABLE DOWNTIME. SHUTDOWN OF ANY EXISTING SERVICE ORSYSTEM WILL BE PERMITTED ONLY WITH THE EXPRESS WRITTENCONSENT OF THE OWNER AND LANDLORD FOR EACH INSTANCE. ANYDAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT OR DISRUPTIONS TO SERVICE CAUSED BYTHE NEGLIGENT INTERRUPTION OF ANY SERVICE SHALL BE THERESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR DIRECTLY CAUSING SUCHINTERRUPTION AND ANY CHARGES ARISING FROM SUCH DAMAGE ORINTERRUPTION SHALL BORN BY THE RESPONSIBLE CONTRACTORWITHOUT ANY ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION.

FIRE PROTECTION
THE GENERAL CONDITIONS, SUPPLEMENTARY CONDITIONS,AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS APPLY TO THE WORK SPECIFIEDIN THIS SECTION.
THIS SECTION DEFINES THE COMPLETE DESIGN, FURNISHINGAND INSTALLING OF THE REVISED FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM.
IT IS THE INTENTION OF THE SPECIFICATION SECTION THAT ALLITEMS OF MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT HEREIN SPECIFIED SHALLBE FURNISHED BY THE CONTRACTOR FOR THIS SECTION, ANDINSTALLED BY THAT CONTRACTOR.
THE EXISTING WET PIPE SYSTEM OF AUTOMATIC SPRINKLERSSHALL BE REVISED THROUGHOUT THE REMODELED PORTIONOF THE BUILDING. SYSTEM DESIGN AND INSTALLATION SHALLBE IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA-13, AND ALL STATE AND LOCALAUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION.ALL MATERIAL TO BE U.L. AND FM APPROVED. AREAS WITHCEILINGS SHALL HAVE ALL PIPING CONCEALED ABOVE THECEILING. CONTRACTOR TO VISIT SITE, AND REVIEW DRAWINGSIN ORDER TO DETERMINE OFFSETS THAT WILL BE REQUIREDTO AVOID NEW AND EXISTING MECHANICAL SYSTEMS, ADD NEWSPRINKLER LINES IF REQUIRED.

C. INSTALLATION OF PIPING. AND LOCATION OFSPRINKLER HEADS SHALL BE COORDINATEDWITH ALL OTHER TRADES AND SHALL NOTOBSTRUCT LIGHTS, AIR , OUTLETS, ACCESSDOORS AND OTHER ITEMS REQUIRING ACCESS.
D. ALL SPRINKLER HEADS USED SHALL BE QUICKRESPONSE CHROME PLATED WITH WHITECEILING PLATE OR TO MATCH EXISTING. VERIFYIN FIELD.
INSTALLATION
1. THE COST OF CUTTING OPENINGS SHALL BE BORNE BYTHE CONTRACTOR.
2. DRAIN VALVES, IF REQUIRED, SHALL BE ACCESSIBLE ANDDRAINS CARRIED TO THE NEAREST FLOOR DRAIN ANDARRANGED FOR FULL FLOW.
3. SYSTEMS SHALL BE TESTED AS REQUIRED BY THE FIREDEPT.
APPROVALS
1. ALL PLANS MUST BE APPROVED BY CITY OF RACINE, WI.AND SERVICES REVIEW BOARD AND THE FIRE MARSHALLHAVING JURISDICTION.
2. FIRE PROTECTION SHALL FOLLOW ALL REGULATIONS ASPUT FORTH IN NFPA-13.
